In Christ, God re-created humanity.

THE PURPOSE OF THE
GOSPEL
BY SENDING JESUS to this world, God
had one purpose in mind.
To create a new man.
In HIM.
No matter who.
Jews or Gentiles.
Rich or poor.
Slave or free.
In Christ, we are a new creation.
A holy nation.
Royalty.
His own people.
Peculiar.
Chosen.
How did all this come to pass?
Through what Jesus, the Anointed One—
the Christ—has accomplished for us on the
cross.

Through the gospel, God invites us
into a relationship with Him.

This is what He, Jesus—the Savior—was
sent to do.
This was His mission.
His purpose for coming.
“For God so loved the world that he sent
His only begotten son that whosoever
believes on Him should not perish, but
have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
The old creation is destined to perish.
To be discarded.
So this is why God send Jesus.
To save us from that condition.

Jesus came to redeem mankind.

THE OLD CREATION
JESUS CAME to redeem the old creation.
To give us a new inheritance.
So that through Him, we could be adopted
again into God’s family.
To be His own.
Beloved sons and daughters.
Of the most high God.
So that we could have a new identity.
In Him.
So that our value could be restored.
Our dignity.
Our self-worth.
Our hope.
Our future.
Our dreams.
The old creation, in Adam, is destined to
perish.
To be discarded.
But thank God for His great love for us.

Outside of Christ, there is no hope for us.

He didn’t allow what Adam did have the
final say.
He redeemed us.
Through what Jesus did on the cross.

The cross was God’s sovereign initiative.

A NEW CREATION
THROUGH the cross, God re-created
humanity.
Through Christ’s substitutionary death,
burial, and resurrection.
Through God’s own independent initiative.
A cosmic initiative.
He had no obligation to do this.
But He did it anyway.
Because He was moved by compassion.
When we receive a revelation of the
greatness of what God did for us and how
hopelessly we were lost without, it will
give us a deep appreciation for what Jesus
has done for us.
It will restore the joy of salvation to us.
If we have lost it.
We need to remind ourselves of this every
day.
That is why I know of some believers
who start their day by reflecting on their
co-crucifixion with Christ.

Christ diod for us.

They carry with them a real nail.
The kind of nail that was used on Jesus.
So that they can remind themselves that
when Jesus was crucified, they were
crucified with Him.
Oh, how great His love is for us!
How marvelous His ways.
In the light of this revelation, what makes
you think that He will not do all He
promised?
He will fulfill His promises to you, even
more so that you are in Him now.
Paul says,
“God commendeth his love toward us, in
that while we were yet sinners, Christ died
for us. Much more then, being now justified
by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath
through him.” (Romans 5:8-9)
Do you see it?
Paul says, “Much more then, ...”

Adam’s disobedience caused
the free-fall of all humankind.

1 ADAM
ADAM’S disobedience caused the Fall.
And when we are in Adam, His disobedience
is credited to our account.
We are born with debt on our account.
Nothing that we do can release us from
that condition.
That is hard to believe for people who are
steeped in religion.
It takes the Holy Spirit’s intervention to
make a person believe this.
That is why, if we are to preach the gospel,
we must be endued with power from on
high.
We must preach in Holy Spirit power.
With the anointing of the Spirit of God.
Who can then bring conviction to the hearts
of the listeners.
Not to their intellect.
Because it is with the heart that we believe.

In Adam, there is no hope for us.

It’s all about the mindset.

2 A HOPELESS CASE.
WHEN WE ARE in Adam, we are a
hopeless case.
There is no hope for us that we can work
ourselves out of our condition.
The condition that Adam got us into.
But God is the God of the hopeless cases.
That is why Job could say, “I know that my
redeemer lives.” (Job 19:25)
If you are stuck in a hole from which you
can’t get out by yourself, you need to get
to the point first where you lose all hope in
yourself.
That you can help yourself.
Then only, you will look for someone who
can help you.
A redeemer.
So we preach that redeemer.
Jesus.
The savior of the world.
We preach Jesus.
Him Crucified.

Jesus has made a way of escape for us
where there was no way.

Try first—and see how you go.

3 PERFORMING
DOESN’T CUT IT.
LET ME SAY this again.
Try as you might.
You cannot work your way into a family.
You are either born into it.
Or you are adopted into it.
It’s one of the two.
Salvation is by faith through grace.
It is not of works.
You can’t work for it.
Performing doesn’t cut it.
But the thing is this.
People will not believe this so easily.
So God’s solution in the past was to give
people laws.
Laws sound good.
But the problem is the human condition.
The rebellious nature that Adam imparted
to people.

No, no, no, no ...!

So laws will ultimately bring out that
rebellious nature.
Laws will reveal that people have this
rebellious nature.
Paul who had a great revelation of this
writes,
“The law entered that the offense might
abound.” (Romans 5:20)
The law came to increase sin.
Not to decrease it.
But to increase it.
This is hard for people to believe.
And unless the law is enforced—so that
people are scared to break it because they
are afraid of the repercussions—the law
doesn’t mean much to people.
If you are familiar with the traffic in
Thailand, you will know this.
People will drive wherever they can.
It doesn’t matter if there is a traffic sign or
not.
Only, if there is a physical barrier that
prevents people from driving in a certain
direction, then they will not be able to
drive on that road.
Like a footpath, for example.

Hmmm, should I ... or shouldn’t I?

If there is a physical barrier, they won’t be
able to drive on it.
But if there is no physical barrier and only
a sign that says, ‘Don’t drive,’ they will
still drive there.
If the police does not enforce the law.
If people do not get punished for breaking
it.
So the point is: laws are good—yes!
But ...
And this is the problem.
They do not mix well with human nature.
The Adamic nature.
Laws will reveal that humans have this
rebellious nature.
They got it from Adam.
They were born with it.
That is why we must be born again.
To receive a new inheritance.
A new nature.

We are born once through flesh and blood.
To enter the Kingdom of God, we need to be
born again from God. Through Jesus’ death,
burial, and resurrection.

4 A NEW NATURE.
THROUGH CHRIST, we receive a new
nature.
We become a new creation,
Paul says,
“If any man be in Christ, he is a new
creature: old things are passed away;
behold, all things have become new.” (2
Corinthians 5:17)
The old is gone.
The new has come.
When do we know that this has happened?
When we have received the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is our guarantee that we
are in Christ.
Paul says,
God “... hath also sealed us, and given us
the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. (2
Corinthians 1:22)
John says,
“And hereby we know that he abideth in
us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.”
(1 John 3:24)

When we are born again, we
are one Spirit with Christ.
We are brothers in the Spirit.

John even repeats this in the next chapter,
“Hereby know we that we dwell in him,
and he in us, because he hath given us of
his Spirit.” (1 John 4:13)

In Christ, the Father imparts
the Holy Spirit to us.

5 SEALED WITH THE
HOLY SPIRIT.
THIS IS WHY Paul asked the Ephesians
in Acts 19,
“Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you
believed?” (verse 2)
They had not yet received the Holy Spirit
when Paul met them.
So he asked them this vital question.
If people have not yet truly received the
Holy Spirit, their life will be on the natural
plane.
It will still be soulish.
A soulish life is driven by the soul.
By someone’s will, mind, and emotions.
When people have received the Holy Spirit,
they will start a process of learning to walk
by the Holy Spirit.
Of learning to be led by the Holy Spirit.
So these Ephesians had not yet received
the Holy Spirit when Paul met them.

Through baptism, we are united with
Christ in His death. (Romans 6:5)

So he asked them this question.
And then he helped them to receive the
Holy Spirit.
Later, Paul wrote a letter to them.
The letter to the Ephesians.
In this letter, Paul reminded them how they
received the Holy Spirit.
He says,
“In whom [Christ] ye also trusted, after
that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel
of your salvation; in whom also after that
ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy
Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of
our inheritance ...” (Ephesians 1:13-14)
In Acts 19, Paul’s second question to the
Ephesians is interesting.
“Unto what then were ye baptized?” (verse
3)
Paul links believing with getting baptized.
When people believe they get baptized.
We read this in Acts 8.
“... when they believed Phillip preaching
the things concerning the kingdom of God,
and the name of Jesus Christ, they were
baptized, both men and women.” (verse
12)

When we receive the Holy Spirit, we are
One Spirit with Christ. (1 Corinthians 6:17)

And then in Acts 19, after they got baptized,
when Paul laid hands on them, the Holy
Spirit came on them, and they spoke in
tongues.
I have met many times people who were
like the Ephesians and seen them go through
the same process as these Ephesians.
The process of hearing the gospel, then
getting baptized and then receiving the
Holy Spirit.

“The law was given by Moses, but grace and
truth came by Jesus Christ.” (John 1:17)

6 GRACE.
THERE IS A difference between law and
grace.
Like the difference between day and night.
Law is about performing.
In order to receive.
Grace is about receiving.
In order to be able to perform.
Law demands from us.
To show us our inability.
Grace supplies to us.
To enable us to do and be what we cannot
do and be naturally.
Law came through Moses.
Grace came through Jesus Christ.
Do we want to keep trying to prove our
worth through our performance?
Through the law?
Then we are still not eligible to receive
salvation.
Have we come to the end of our trust in our
performance?

Then we are eligible to receive.

Everything in the kingdom of God is to be received.

7 RECEIVING GRACE.
EVERYTHING in the kingdom of God is
to be received.
What makes us good receivers?
Understanding that we cannot qualify
through our performance.
We receive grace.
How?
Through faith?
Faith is the hand that receives what God
has freely provided.
And how does faith come?
“Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing
by the word of God [=Christ].” (Romans
10:17)
So that we can receive grace, we need to
hear the word of Christ.
This will impart faith to us.

Baptism links us with our co-death
and co-burial with Christ.

8 “WHEN THEY
BELIEVED, THEY GOT
BAPTIZED.”
BELIEVING the gospel of Jesus’
substitutionary death, burial and
resurrection is connected with repentance,
getting baptized, and receiving the Holy
Spirit.
We see this right throughout Acts.
Getting baptized is the first thing that
believers who have heard the gospel do.
They put their faith into action.
Because they understand about their
co-death and co-burial with Jesus.
I could make a long list of people in Acts
who got baptized right after they believed
the gospel.
3000 in Acts 2.
Men and women in Samaria, after they had
heard the gospel of the kingdom of God
and the name of Jesus Christ.

God creates life out of death.

The eunuch from Ethiopia, in the same
chapter.
After that Paul, the apostle, in chapter 9. He
then went on to become one of the greatest
apostles.
The household of Cornelius, in Acts 10.
Priscilla in Phillipi.
The disciples of John, in Acts 19.
All these people got baptized when they
believed.
This is a simple doctrine.
It is not rocket science.
I encourage you to do the same.
Preach the gospel to people.
And when they believe, baptize them in the
name of Jesus Christ.
It is a baptism unto His death.
Baptism unites us together with Christ in
the likeness of His death. (See Romans 6:5)
In other words, baptism connects a believer
with the death and burial of Jesus Christ.

Receiving the Holy Spirit links us
with our co-resurrection with Christ.

9 “WHEN YOU
BELIEVED, YOU WERE
SEALED WITH THE
HOLY SPIRIT.”
DEATH comes first.
The resurrection comes next.
This is God’s way of working.
He creates life out of death.
He is the God who raises the dead.
When He raised Jesus, we were raised with
Him.
So, after being united with Christ in His
death, through baptism, we can also expect
to be united with Christ in His resurrection.
This happens when we receive the Holy
Spirit.
That’s why Paul asked the Ephesians in
Acts 19 this question.
“Have ye receive the Holy Ghost [Spirit]
since ye believed?” (verse 2)
They said no.

The Spirit of God is the breath of God. The
Holy Spirit infuses us with divine life.

“We have not so much as heard whether
there be any Holy Ghost [Spirit],” they
said.
Paul’s next question is interesting.
He asks, “Unto what then where ye
baptized?” (verse 3)
This shows us that death must come first.
Co-burial with Christ.
The Ephesians hadn’t heard the full gospel
yet.
They didn’t know that John’s, the Baptist’s,
aim, and mission was actually to point
people to Jesus.
They had misunderstood John.
Probably because they had been taught like
that.
But then, when they hear from Paul, they
get believe and get baptized.
Then what happens?
“And when Paul had laid his hands upon
them, the Holy Ghost [Spirit] came on
them; and they spake with tongues, and
prophesied.” (Acts 19:6)
Paul was the right man.
He was able to minister the Holy Spirit to
them.

Can I have one, too, please?

This is still the same today.
To be an able minister of Christ, we need to
have first received the Holy Spirit.
And then minister in the Spirit.
And minister the Spirit to people.
Like a waiter in a restaurant is serving food
to people.
We who have the Holy Spirit need to learn
to minister the Spirit to people.
To serve the Holy Spirit to them as it were.
So they can taste and see what the Kingdom
of God is like.
Paul was that kind of minister.
So the Ephesians received the Holy Spirit
through Paul.
Not that Paul, or any man, can give the
Holy Spirit for that matter.
It is always Jesus—the Christ—who gives
the Holy Spirit.
But the minister, the preacher, the one who
helps people to receive the Holy Spirit
needs to have the Holy Spirit himself or
herself and then minister as the Holy Spirit
instructs.
Preach, as the Holy Spirit inspires.

Rivers of living water need an outlet.

Act, as the Holy Spirit inspires.
This then will impart faith to the hearers so
that they can then come to a place where
they can receive.
Receive the most precious Holy Spirit.
Not yet any of His gifts.
But the Holy Spirit himself.
The gift of the Spirit.
Which is the Holy Spirit himself.
First.
Other gifts of the Holy Spirit come later.
They will manifest.
But people need to have received the gift
of the Holy Spirit, that is, the Holy Spirit
Himself first.
This is what we see in Acts.
And when the Holy Spirit comes, we see
that He enables people to speak in a Spiritlanguage.
This is called speaking in tongues.
It is a sign.
The sign that Jesus talks about in Mark 16.
“They shall speak with new tongues.”
(verse 17)
All.

For a natural man the things of the
Spirit are all double-Dutch.

10 THE NATURAL
CANNOT UNDERSTAND
THE SPIRITUAL.
IF BELIEVERS have not received the
Holy Spirit yet, this will become quickly
obvious.
They will not be able to understand
spiritual things.
Give them the bible, and they will not be
able to understand it.
They will shy away from it.
Take them to a prayer meeting where
people speak in tongues, and they will not
want to stay long.
They will not want to come.
That’s because they have not yet received
the Holy Spirit.
They do not have the Holy Spirit yet.
Because it is only through the Holy Spirit
that we can begin to understand spiritual
things.

Let us help you.

For this reason, it is so crucial that we
who are more spiritually mature help those
believers who haven’t yet received the
Holy Spirit yet.
We see such a case in Acts 8.
The Samaritans had believed.
They had gotten baptized unto the name of
Jesus Christ.
But, yet they had not received the Holy
Spirit yet.
The apostles were wise enough to address
this issue quickly.
They sent Peter and John to them.
Peter and John then helped the Samaritans
to receive the Holy Spirit.
Why didn’t they receive in the first place?
We can only guess.
I believe because they had been under the
influence of witchcraft through Simon, the
sorcerer.
We don’t receive Holy Spirit on the basis
of our works.
Paul makes this clear in his letter to the
Galatians.

This is not difficult.

Paul says,
“Foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched
you, that ye that you should not obey the
truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath
been evidently set forth, crucified among
you? This only would I learn of you,
received ye the Spirit by the works of the
law, or by the hearing of faith?” (Galatians
3:1-2)
The point is this.
No one can receive Holy Spirit on the basis
of works.
You can’t qualify for it.
You need to believe that Jesus is enough.
That what He did on the cross is enough.
That is the word of faith.
That word needs to be preached.
That is why Paul says,
“Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth,
crucified among you ...”
This is what Peter and John must have
preached to the Samaritans before they
laid hands on them.
You can’t just lay hands on people.
There must be an element of faith present.

Receiving a gift is not difficult.

Faith that comes through hearing the word
of Christ.
Then, when faith is operating, people can
receive.
Easily.
I have seen this so often.
But if their heart is not right, like Simon,
the sorcerers’s, they still will not receive.
I have also seen that.
But, in general, it is easy for people to
receive the Holy Spirit.
When they have heard the right message
from the right preacher.
Someone who is sent to preach.
Someone who is filled with Holy Spirit.

Worship is the natual result of having a revelation
of what God has done for us through Jesus.

11 WORSHIP.
PEOPLE WHO ARE truly born again will
delight in worship.
Because in the core of their being, God has
made them worshippers.
This is a mystery.
Before people can worship God—in the
Spirit—God needs to have done a work in
them first.
He needs to have circumcised people’s
hearts.
Through the circumcision of Christ.
So when we are born again, through Jesus’
death, burial, and resurrection, God has
changed something fundamental in our
heart.
He has taken the stony heart from us, and
give us a new heart of flesh.
He has circumcised us with the circumcision
of Christ.
This is something only Christ can do.
No man can do it.

Only Jesus can change hearts.

No behavior modification can do this.
Only Jesus can change the nature of people.
By changing their heart.
So when we come to Him and repent and
get united with Him through baptism with
His death and then get united with His
resurrection by receiving the Holy Spirit,
God has done an amazing work in us.
He has changed us at the core of our being.
He has given us a new heart.
And we will want to worship Him.
This is the sign of the new birth as well.
We will delight in worshipping the one
who is altogether worthy.
Because outside of Jesus there is no
salvation.

When we pray in a Spirit language, the Holy Spirit
helps us to pray according to the will of God.

12 A SPIRIT LANGUAGE.
THE ONE WHO is born of the Spirit of
God will also be able to worship God in
the Spirit.
We see in Acts, whenever the Scriptures
mention that people receive the Holy
Spirit, the sign of speaking in a Spirit
language, also called speaking in tongues,
is mentioned.
In 3 out of 4 accounts.
Then, in the letters, which are written to
those who are already in Christ, the apostles
encourage us to speak in the Spirit.
Over and over.
They instruct us to make use of this ability
that we have received from the Holy Spirit.
The ability to speak in a Spirit language.
We worship in that language.
We pray in that language.
It is a language and enablement from the
Holy Spirit in which the Holy Spirit helps
us to pray.
He helps us to worship.

Speaking with tongues is the gateway to
the supernatural.

He helps us to make an utterance that
originates from the spirit.
This utterance does not originate from our
soul.
It originates from the Spirit.
Paul understood the value of this gift.
He said,
“I thank my God, I speak with tongues
more than ye all ...” (1 Corinthians 14:18).
Yet, speaking in tongues is not a gift that
one has, and another one doesn’t have.
All who are filled with Holy Spirit can—
and should—make use of it.
I’ve helped so many people who were not
sure about ‘speaking in tongues’ to get
clarity on it.
And once they got clarity on it, they
operated in it.
This is my testimony.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege to
help many people—from all different kinds
of backgrounds—in this one point.

A sign points to the real thing.

13 SIGNS.
ONCE WE HAVE RECEIVED Holy
Spirit, we should be brave to lay hands on
the sick.
For healing.
This is what Jesus says in Mark 16.
He says, God and preach the gospel to
everyone.
And then those who believe signs will
follow.
They did, and they went out, and we read,
“the Lord [was] working with them, and
confirming the word with signs following.”
(Mark 16:20)
Reinhard Bonnke had this clear revelation
on this point.
Jesus can only confirm what has been said
about Him before.
In Bonnke’s words, “Jesus can only be
what you preach Him to be.”
“Preach Him as the healer, and He will
heal.”

Jesus is a healer.

“Preach Him as the baptizer in the Holy
Spirit, and He will baptize people in the
Holy Spirit.”
So we do not need to be afraid.
It is not our responsibility to confirm what
we say about Jesus.
It is His responsibility.
If we do what we are told to do, Jesus will
do what He has promised to do.
But again, these signs will only follow
those who are truly born again.
Those who haven’t received the Holy
Spirit will not feel comfortable with what
Jesus said in Mark 16.
But if we have received the Holy Spirit,
Mark 16 is a wonderful passage.
It confirms to us that we can cast demons
out from people, speak in new tongues (a
spirit language), and lay hands on the sick.
All we need to do is just do it.
And then we will see Jesus at work.

When we preach the gospel in the power of the
Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit carries us along.

14 PREACH THE
GOSPEL TO ALL
CREATURE.
PEOPLE NEED TO hear about Jesus.
From someone who is sent to preach.
From someone who is filled with the Holy
Spirit.
Then they will be able to believe.
So, we have the privilege to go and preach
the gospel.
We start in our Jerusalem (where the Lord
has put us) first.
Then we move unto the next region (Judea
and Samaria). We increase our circles of
influence.
And then we go to the uttermost parts of
the earth.
I heard the gospel for the first time in the
deserts of Central Australia.
In a place called Coober Pedy.

Rivers of life-giving water.

In the night before I got baptized, Jesus
spoke to me audibly in a dream.
He said,
“Albert, Albert. Come.”
And I responded,
“Yes.”
Every since, I have seen hundreds of
people come to the Lord.
I had the privilege to preach to them.
Then make sure they understood
‘repentance.’
After that, I (or one of my brothers or
sisters in the Lord) baptized them.
And then, I saw Jesus confirming His
word, by filling them with the Holy Spirit.
When you get a taste of this, you will want
more.
Because there is nothing greater than that.
Than to see people come into the Kingdom
of God.
And then those people need to be nurtured.
They need to be raised up in a family.
A Kingdom family.

Joy unspeakable!

So, in His Kingdom family, we all need
each other.
We have different callings and different
gifts.
All should work together for the same
purpose.
To expand the Kingdom of God, His
influence here earth.
For His glory.
By His Spirit.
For Him.
Through Him.
And to Him.
Then one day, we will all be rejoicing
together in the world that is to come.
What a day this will be!
But until then let us be faithful to His call,
to God, and preach the gospel to every
creature.
In that, we need each other.
Let us work together for this purpose.
And our reward and our joy will be great!
