set against the cliffs.

Non-profit association “7milamiglialontano”
promotes adventure and sustainable travel
in order to create global awareness of the
problems of pollution in the sea, along the
coasts and in the rivers. Kappa supported the
biker Giacomo Tognoli on his dream trip along
the Icelandic coastline.

STYLE AND FREEDOM
First impressions of Iceland.
Though the sea was calm,
the crossing was marked by constant
rain... And Iceland’s weather forecast
didn’t leave much hope!
As a matter of fact we had to wear
our rain gear as soon as
we got on the ferry ...
From when we disembarked at
Seydisfjordur, and for almost two hours,
all we saw were low-hanging clouds
and pouring rain.

The road surface was excellent and
allowed us to make good time.
The only danger was the sheep,
which, startled by the sound of the bikes,
would dash into the road unexpectedly.
The sun finally came out and we were able
to admire the green of this peninsula and
the white farmhouses set against the cliffs.

SCOTLAND: AN INTENSIVE
ROADTRIP

We’ve been riding through England at full
speed, on the highway for two days. We
look forward to seeing the liberating sign
announcing Scotland.
Once in this mysterious and foggy territory,
we will finally get off the “Highway” and enjoy
endless curves and local tarmac.

A NORTHERN CITY
Here we are in Glasgow, a Northern
city, after many days of crazy and
uninterrupted riding. The city is not very
welcoming but we are happy to finally
start our itinerary into the far north!
The aim is to reach Tongue and from
there follow the coast to Thurso and then
descend to Edinburgh. We are expecting
good weather to free camp along the way.
Of course, we will stop and visit the
island of Skye.

The Isle of Skye welcomes us in all its splendor. The
landscape is magnificent and we never cease to
marvel at the beauty of it all. It is through detours and
inquisitive looks that we finally find a camp site for the
night. We stop in the middle of nowhere, after meeting
some shepherds and some sheep. A mountainous peak
overlooks us, the peat sinks under our feet. Tonight, we
will have a natural mattress.
