Spring recoil hose reels
Choosing the right hose reel
When choosing a hose reel you need to consider the following.
Type and quantity of fluid to be delivered.
Length of hose required determined by distance from the reel to point of dispense.
Pressure required at point of dispense determined by the type of fluid used (ie Air -12 bar, oil-150 bar, grease - 400 bar.
Hose size is determined by the flow rate required and depends on the type of fluid and the pressure.
Stainless Steel or Carbon Steel?
Stainless Steel reels are used in places where food, chemicals, corrosive atmospheres and when using hot water.
Painted carbon Steel reels are used in most standard situations
Fixed or adjustable swivel?
Fixed reels are used where reels are packed closely together or on mobile kits
Adjustable swivelling reels are used where the hose is directed to the point of dispense.
Open or Cased reels?
This is purely a subjective choice depending upon style and preference, and has nothing to do with functionality.
