SASHA SELIPANOV NEW HEAD<br />

Sasha, a graduate of Art Center College of Design in<br />

Pasadena, California, started his career at Volkswagen<br />

in 2005. In 2010 he briefly joined Lamborghini,<br />

where he contributed to the Lamborghini Huracan.<br />

In 20<strong>14</strong> Sasha was appointed Head of Exterior Design, Creative<br />

at Bugatti. He was responsible for the exteriors of<br />

the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo and the Bugatti Chiron.<br />

In 2017 Sasha was appointed Head of Global Advanced Design<br />

at Genesis. His team worked on recent Genesis show<br />

cars: Genesis Essentia and Genesis Mint.<br />

Sasha will also serve as the Managing Director and Chief<br />

Designer at the newly established RAW Design House in<br />

Ängelholm, Sweden. <strong>The</strong> company will offer a wide spectrum<br />

of design services to a select group of clients.<br />

Sasha Selipanov comments on his new appointment:<br />

MEETING 2019<br />

<strong>The</strong> <strong>Luxury</strong> <strong>Network</strong> and Rocco Forte hosted their<br />

B2B Members Summer Meeting at <strong>The</strong> Charles<br />

Hotel Munich. In midsummer temperatures the<br />

TLN Community met during the Munich Film Festival<br />

at <strong>The</strong> Charles Hotel, situated in direct neighbourhood<br />

of the Botanical Garden. <strong>The</strong> Rocco Forte Group,<br />

a long-standing member in the network, provided with<br />

its privileged location as a co-host a wonderful retreat<br />

from the city’s hussle and buzzle.<br />

After a review of the past six months of the year and<br />

the introduction of new members and co-operations,<br />

the participants enjoyed during the subsequent networking<br />

lunch in “Sophia’s” Restaurant a deliciously<br />

light summer menu, created by the chef de cuisine,<br />

Michael Huesken. With lots of creativity and engagement<br />

the new upcoming affinity projects for the coming<br />

6 months and beyond were discussed thereafter in<br />

a workshop round table format.<br />

in Beirut. Karen is a writer, poet,<br />

media personality, owner and GM<br />

of Eyestrategy Business Communication<br />

SARL – Co-Founder of LALS.<br />

Her main goal is to acquire more<br />

members and create events that<br />

will produce unique partnerships<br />

with luxury brands in the upcoming<br />

months.<br />

Karen Boustany<br />

Karen consecrates her free time to<br />

writing poetry and travels to Paris<br />

where she gets her BA in French literature<br />

from La Sorbonne University,<br />

Paris IV. She graduated from<br />

the Lebanese American University<br />

in Beirut, specializing in a double<br />

major: Communication Arts and<br />

Political Sciences. Having acquired<br />

12 years of experience in the field<br />

of Advertising, she established her<br />

al Tarikh – Names in History, in<br />

which she hosts very famous Brazilian<br />

personalities from Lebanese<br />

descent such as President of Brazil<br />

HE Michel Temer and many more.<br />

In 2015, she travelled to the UAE<br />

and filmed more than 15 episodes<br />

with outstanding Lebanese success<br />

stories in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and<br />

Sharjah. In October 2016, she traveled<br />

to Australia and filmed more<br />

than 15 interviews with prominent<br />

Lebanese politicians and businessmen<br />

such as the former Premier of<br />

Victoria, HE Steve Brax. In February<br />

2017, she travelled to South Africa<br />

and filmed more than 35 interviews<br />

with prominent Lebanese politicians<br />

and businessmen in Africa<br />

during the Lebanese Diaspora Energy.<br />

Since 20<strong>14</strong>, Karen has been a<br />

founding member of the Lebanese<br />

Energy Diaspora Conference organized<br />

Karen has published two books: a<br />

poetry book “Au-delà de la Faute”<br />

published in December 2007 and<br />

“Mon père le Roi du monde,” a<br />

In the heart of Munich, a pre-selected circle of invited<br />

attended an after-work networking dinner. On this<br />

special occasion the TLN member Hearthouse opened<br />

exclusively its doors to the summery decorated “Members<br />

only“ studio, providing direct access to the members<br />

terrace.<br />

During the Signature cocktail-reception the closed<br />

circle discussed the latest trends in the luxury market<br />

and received also some insights to the newcomer collection<br />

of the TLN member Edelvion.<br />

Framed by inspiring Pop-Art, the lovers of beautiful<br />

things exchanged their thoughts and experiences<br />

whilst ice cold gazpacho and grilled prawns were<br />

served, before the talks continued in-depth at the subsequent<br />

at the beautiful Four Seasons Resort<br />

135, to spend a day at sea with the<br />

Guests were treated to a bespoke<br />

version of Panerai’s showcase from<br />

the Salon <strong>International</strong> de la Haute<br />

Horologerie, which took place earlier<br />

this year In Geneva; they were<br />

able to view up close and personal<br />

ENLISTS THE SKILLS OF<br />

THE ARIANEE CONSORTIUM<br />

Vacheron Constantin has called upon the Arianee consortium to activate and<br />

deploy its digital certification via Blockchain technology, announced on May<br />

20th 2019. This authentication, which has been in effect on the watches in<br />

the Maison’s Les Collectionneurs collection since May 15th, offers customers an<br />

unparalleled certification and traceability service, with the ongoing objective of<br />

combating counterfeiting.<br />

As the Richemont group’s pilot company in the implementation of digital watch<br />

certification, Vacheron Constantin opted to work with Arianee to find a guarantee<br />

and authentication solution based on data protection and customer anonymity.<br />

By virtue of its status as an association created in 2019, the Arianee project’s approach<br />

to Blockchain takes the form of a decentralised and independent protocol,<br />

thereby giving watch owners the assurance of neutrality.<br />

According to Guillaume Boilot, Chief Operating Officer Vacheron Constantin:<br />

“by announcing the digitisation of its certificates of authenticity, our company is<br />

evolving with the times, as ever at the service of its customers. Through Blockchain<br />

technology and in partnership with Arianee, we offer them real security<br />

regarding the authenticity of their watches.”<br />

With Arianee, the use of cryptographic technology and the decentralised characteristics<br />

of Blockchain technology, Vacheron Constantin wishes to evaluate the<br />

possibility of creating a standard protocol for the digital certification of objects<br />

that could be used by all luxury stakeholders.<br />

Pierre-Nicolas Hurstel, CEO Arianee, added: “We are proud to have been able to<br />

allow Vacheron Constantin to issue the certificate of authenticity using Blockchain<br />

technology. Digital identities will transform the way we own valuable assets<br />

and Arianne couldn’t dream of a better first step than this pilot program as we<br />

continue on our path to building a global standard.”<br />

Arianee is one of the first concrete Blockchain applications available to end consumers.<br />

This open source solution has been designed to give each object an unforgeable,<br />

durable, secure and transferable digital identity. Each watch registered<br />

on the Arianee protocol is given a certificate in addition to the traditional paper<br />

authentication. This consists of a digital passport with several innovative features:<br />

it can be transferred from one owner to another; it creates an anonymous link<br />

between the owner and Vacheron Constantin; and it is open as well as connected,<br />

thus enabling its owner to insure the model, declare it lost or stolen, as well as<br />

share or prove its ownership.<br />

Angela Au-Yeung, Chief Digital Officer Vacheron Constantin, explains: “This certification<br />

creates bridges and interactions between customers, their watches and<br />

our Maison. By securing via Blockchain, we can now track our products throughout<br />

their life cycle and communicate with their owners without asking them to<br />

Melanie Prinz, CEO of Beeline Logistics,<br />

already pointed out the importance<br />

of logistics during the Executive<br />

Club. In the evening Beeline<br />

sponsored a stand and presented<br />

itself to the curious audience. Most<br />

of us do not realize how much we<br />

depend on logistics. Our current<br />

world would not be the way it is<br />

without modern logistics – starting<br />

from food over apparel to all devices<br />

of our daily lives – nothing would<br />

be available without logistics!<br />

Establishing new contacts, deepening<br />

existing relationships<br />

Following the official program, there<br />

was plenty of time for all members<br />

and guests to mix and mingle and<br />

enjoy the excellent summer barbecue<br />

of the 5-star castle hotel. New<br />

contacts were made while fellow<br />

members met again and deepened<br />

their relationships. Many celebrated<br />

at the famous Jimmy’s bar until<br />

late at night.<br />
