A popular community event in the town centre<br />
returns this year thanks to <strong>Wigan</strong> Rotary Club.<br />
A free stall is available in <strong>Wigan</strong> town centre<br />
on Saturday 18th September for any local<br />
community group or charity as part of <strong>Wigan</strong><br />
Rotary Club’s Community Day.<br />
Rotary President Rosemary Charles explained,<br />
“We are providing this ‘free of charge’ opportunity<br />
for local groups to raise their profile, make<br />
some money, and recruit new members. Every<br />
participating group will be allocated a frontage<br />
on Standishgate or Market Place to erect a table or<br />
gazebo and benefit from this opportunity”.<br />
Community Day<br />
She continued “The Community Day gives<br />
voluntary and community organisations the opportunity<br />
to showcase the fantastic work they are doing in our local<br />
communities. This is the eighth year we have organised<br />
this event and each year it becomes more popular and<br />
we have had some fantastic feedback. <strong>Wigan</strong> Rotary have<br />
been helping the <strong>Wigan</strong> community since 1924 and this is<br />
just one of the ways for us to carry on the tradition”.<br />
