On the occasion of the 6th international “Enter into Art” art competition for the promotion of small-format pictures the art book shows - in addition to exquisite large-format pictures - over 150 works by artists from 36 Countries and 5 continents. At the same time it is a poetry book for relaxation with art, poetry and colors. The pictures are arranged in color chapters for careful viewing and relaxation. One chapter of the book is dedicated to the 210th anniversary of birth of the Polish composer Frédéric Chopin. During his stay with the French writer George Sand on the island of Mallorca, he wrote the world-famous "Rainbow Prelude". Megan Vun Wong’s take on nonrepresentational painting unites unpredictable<br />
shapes <strong>with</strong> a groovy gesture resulting in a highly polished artistic style. The<br />
artist develops her abstract paintings out of wild, overlapping lines combined<br />
<strong>with</strong> a limited number of dominant shapes. Loving surprises, she breathes life<br />
into her work by leaving a lot of it up to chance. On the other hand, she integrates<br />
recognizable objects like splattered rubber gloves into her nonrepresentational<br />
art – albeit sparingly, and highly aware of their effect. In the context of her<br />
paintings dominated by a small number of powerful shapes, the varying colors<br />
appear rich and heavy. To each color trace and shape, Wong purposefully assigns<br />
a precise function in the overall picture. At times, landscape elements seem to<br />
appear, swirling <strong>with</strong> movement. Then again, the message of her creations is<br />
redefined through alien objects. The power of chance objects to imbue her work<br />
<strong>with</strong> meaning activates Wong’s compositions in a special way. Her colorful paintings<br />
are made to be aesthetically pleasing, while her Perspex-based objet d’art<br />
focuses its elegant brightness on playing <strong>with</strong> light and shade.<br />

Schillerndes Lebensmosaik<br />
Megan Vun Wongs Auseinandersetzung mit der ungegenständlichen Malerei<br />
vereint unberechenbare Formen mit einem fetzigen Gestus zu einem bravourösen<br />
malerischen Können. Ihre abstrakten Bilder entwickelt sie aus wilden, sich<br />
überlagernden Linien und wenigen dominanten Formen. Dabei überlässt sie<br />
absichtlich vieles dem Zufall, denn sie liebt die Überraschung. Dies verleiht ihren<br />
Bildern ein starkes Eigenleben. Gleichwohl bringt sie in ihre gegenstandslose<br />
Kunst auch Gegenstände wie <strong>vol</strong>lgekleckste Gummihandschuhe ein - sparsam<br />
und mit großem Gefühl für deren Wirkung. In den auf wenige kraft<strong>vol</strong>le Formen<br />
reduzierten Bildinhalten wirken die variierenden Farben schwer und satt. Jeder<br />
Farbspur und jeder Form verleiht Wong bewusst eine präzise Funktion innerhalb<br />
des Ganzen. Zum Teil vermag man Landschaftselemente zu erkennen, durch die<br />
sich eine strudelnde Bewegung drängt. Dann wieder erfahren die Bilder durch<br />
eingefügte Fremdkörper eine neue Deutung. Diese sinngebende Kraft scheinbar<br />
zufälliger Fundstücke dient der Aktivierung der Kompositionen. Die farbenfrohen<br />
Gemälde sollen rein ästhetisch befriedigen und stehen im Gegensatz zu<br />
dem aus Plexiglasplatten zusammengesetzten Kunstobjekt, das in seiner eleganten<br />
Helligkeit mit Licht und Schatten spielt.<br />
