UNIBOX LAUNCHES KONNEKT HIVE

AND KONNEKT TWIST

Unibox is excited to introduce the latest additions to its patented

Konnekt product range – Konnekt Hive and Konnekt Twist. A low

voltage power-delivery system, Konnekt enables retailers to

upgrade entire store formats by making it easy to retro-fit

lightbars, lightboxes, illuminated panels and other electrical

accessories into existing shelving schemes.

technology even further. Specially-engineered to operate using

powerful neo-magnets, Hive and Twist power tracks are entirely

cable-free meaning that they can be fixed directly onto suitable

surfaces without the need for complex tooling or specialist

training.

Konnekt Hive and Twist offer retailers unbeatable flexibility – both

aesthetic and logistical – as visual merchandising displays can be

reconfigured to suit the rapidly-changing demands of retail

environments and showcase products of all types in their best

lights.

MORPLAN LAUNCH NEW

BIODEGRADABLE MANNEQUINS

Traditional mannequins have been historically quite unenvironmentally

friendly, manufactured using resin and fibreglass.

These new Eco-Friendly mannequins from Morplan are made using

bio-resin, rice powder and raffia paper and are covered with a

water-based paint and lacquer - making them 100% biodegradable,

the first of their kind.

The joints are all made from 65% recycled metal and include a

stand made from 100% recycled glass. They are packaged in 100%

recyclable boxes, printed with water-based ink, filled using 100%

recyclable void filler, and packed using paper and foams that are

also recyclable.

A normal mannequin can become toxic to the environment and

take centuries to break down. However, these eco mannequins will

start to break down within the first 12 months of being landfilled.

The metal fittings can be broken away from the main body and fully

recycled, alongside the recyclable glass stand and all packaging.

RTD Systems Ltd has helped Boots develop its vaccination clinic in

Uxbridge with the use of Octanorm modular aluminium systems.

With the vaccination process going in full swing, Prime Minister

Boris Johnson paid a visit to the Boots hub vaccinating local

residents in his constituency of Uxbridge.

RTD SYSTEMS HELP BOOTS

DEVELOP ITS VACCINATION CLINIC

Boots have the potential to create over 600 in-store vaccination

centres situated in convenient high street and retail park

locations. Boots are developing their dedicated in-store

vaccination service in anticipation of life returning to normal with

the possibility of boosters as new variants of the virus emerge.

Boots opened its first vaccination site in Halifax in January and has

helped more than 60,000 patients from the local community

receive their first vaccine at the store. The health and beauty

retailer now offers vaccinations at 16 pharmacies across England,

with plans to expand further to more Boots stores in the coming

weeks.

The Octanorm concept covers all basic areas from registration to

after-care. It also includes staff rooms and storage facilities for the

KENDU LAUNCH INTERNATIONAL

ROLL-OUT FOR NESPRESSO

Kendu launched an international roll-out installing the Flowbox

system in boutiques in more than 10 countries across 3

continents. On this occasion, Kendu’s dynamic lightbox

transformed itself into a “window” to the sustainable coffee

plantations in Africa, with an animation that simulated in great

detail the rising and setting of the sun over the plantations of

Zimbabwe. In collaboration with Nespresso’s design team, the

display was integrated into a metal structure in the shape of a

window and sound effects from the plantation added to create an

even more immersive experience.

What is Flowbox?

Exclusive to Kendu, Flowbox is

the new generation of dynamic

lightboxes that combines

high-quality printed visuals with

surprising animation effects

thanks to LED plates which are

powered by a ready-to- play SD

card. The dynamic lightbox

offers infinite creative options

from tonal variation to colour

changes and even animation.

The improved version brings

more benefits and competitive

advantages, being easier than

ever to set up and including a range of inspiring new display

features.

See more info on Flowbox at:

https://www.kendu.com/flowbox-dynamic-lightbox/

In the Barcelona boutique, Kendu also created a “skylight”

structure that realistically simulates a blue sky thanks to

Flowbox’s dynamism, creating a unique atmosphere in the shop

that surprises its customers.

UNIBOX HELP TAKE TEKZONE

TO THE FUTURE

Unibox partnered with Grapes Design to create a bespoke lighting

system for the Oxford Street store of electronics retailer, Tekzone.

After initial meetings showed plans for a futuristic lighting matrix

inspired by the sci-fi film, Tron, the company worked to uphold all

aesthetic objectives and provide optimum light levels for product

displays.

Unibox manufactured, assembled and installed 300m of extruded

aluminium profiles (designed in-house) with integrated RGBW LEDs

which were assembled in a custom configuration to create an

installation that is entirely unique.

The company also advised using DMX as opposed to wireless

technologies to control the store’s lights because, by operating

using a complex network of shielded cables, DMX enables upscale

lighting systems to function without being interrupted by wireless

signals in the vicinity.

Together with Unibox’s eye-catching Neonist signage, Kontakt

shelving and more, this lighting system sits proudly as the defining

feature of a one-of-a-kind store concept.
