the ART book
At some point in our lives, each of us has been an
artist of some sort, whether it was finger painting in
kindergarten or doodling on a piece of paper while
bored at work or school. Of course, there are those who
discover it is their talent and take it to another level,
using art on a regular basis as a way of expressing
themselves and ideas that appear in their minds.
Whether it’s pure fantasy, self portraits or landscapes;
for the most part it’s a way of releasing and relaxing.
While it may never become a way of making a living,
doing so it still fulfills a need from within.
Then there’s the more rare case of those very few that
actually make a living with their artwork. For some it
may be commercial art or graphics and for others it
could be something as simple as a t-shirt design or
perhaps even greeting cards. There is no doubt that
art is everywhere; it’s never ending and the ultimate
expression of one’s soul. It has a way of bringing
smiles, laughs and even tears. It’s even changed how
the world thinks or views things. Some of the greatest
artists of all time weren’t even recognized until after
their deaths, yet the work they created lives on forever
in museums and private collections around the world.
For the past three years Static Live Magazine has been
lucky enough to feature many amazing talents in all
shapes and mediums, each one unique and interesting
in its own way. It’s been more than an honor to show
off all the wonderful types of styles and creations.
As for me personally it’s been an amazing journey in
discovering so many talents and learning about how
they got started and what drives them to be the best
that they can when it comes to sharing their ideals and
visions to the world.
LOCATED
OUTSIDE!
I would like to personally thank all involved for sharing
their work with us and have been a part of this special
journey into the beautiful world of art.
Sincerely,
Sean Impara
artist/painter living in the Orlando/Central Florida area.
He has been painting professionally for 10 years. His
work is collected and shown internationally as well
as regionally in both group and solo shows. Cities he
shows regularly in are Orlando Fl, Atlanta Ga, New
York Ny, Austin Tx and Los Angeles Ca.
pg10 JOSH ROSEN is owner and operator at The
Hands That Make the Monsters in New Smyrna
Beach, Florida.
pg11 LOUIE MUNI (Joe Muni) They can be found at
the HUB on Canal in NSB, FL. “Our goal is to never
buy a piece of wood and to this day 11 years later
we still haven’t. Each guitar that is made has a very
special history to it and a story of where the wood
came from. In this case it’s much more than just art,
it’s playable art! Every guitar will not reach the gallery
until it has been inspected for playability and is confirmed
to rock!!”
pg14 HAROLD GARDE is an American expressionist
painter and the originator and namer of the Strappo
technique.
pg16 MARK HADLEY who seems to be always
smiling and joking around and has a very positive
attitude about almost everything. Yet, when you look
at his artwork it seems to take on a whole different
and definitely darker tone.
pg17 RYAN HANLY is a man that practices an art
form that has been dated back into the mid-1500s
or perhaps even as far as the Egyptian times if you
consider they mummified millions - yes, millions - of
animals. Taxidermy is almost like being a mortician
in that it involves dealing with death every day. While
it’s not very pretty work and it’s definitely not for the
squeamish or for people with weak stomachs, it’s still
something that’s around us today and still can be very
fascinating.
pg12 BARRY KITE had a short career in the mid
1970’s performing his spoken word poetry before
segueing into his collage-style visual art for the next
40+ years. His return to this unique style of poetry not
only opens up neglected avenues of expression, but
the combination of word and image confronts him as
a new art medium.
pg18 GARY KROMAN His work can be seen on the
covers of many StaticLive magazines. His work is
translated onto multiple merchandise such as shoes,
bags, home goods, stationary and prints. All are
