our July Issue
With Summer upon us and more of us
venturing outside, there’s plenty going
on in our local community so take a
look at our bumper ‘news and features’
section from page 56.
The great news is that the long-awaited
Tour de Manc has been rescheduled to
take place on Sunday 5th September, full
details on pages 56-57.
This month Nigel Morrell highlights the
danger of youngsters using local reservoirs
as swimming facilities. Only recently on
a walk round Greenbooth reservoir, my
daughter and I passed the friends and
families of the teenager who drowned
on Monday 19th June 2017 as they
remembered him on the fourth anniversary
of this tragedy. Nigel also points out other
factors to be aware of both inside and
outside the home ensuring a safe and
happy Summer, something I’m sure we are
all looking forward to.
In addition to the successful Spring Clean
which took place recently in Norden village,
there will be a litter pick taking place
in Bamford on Sunday 5th July. Local
residents are encouraged to take part in
this fight against mindless individuals who
throw their litter wherever and whenever
they fancy.
