The Twin Lakes Clubhouse will be available to any Twin Lakes residents 

every Monday from 7 to 9 PM for an evening of Social Games. You and 

your spouse/significant other are welcome to join us in playing Fun

HARRIS COUNTY MUD NO. 255 

The next meeting for the Harris County MUD No. 255 Board of Directors is 

to be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 beginning at 12 Noon at the offices of 

Smith, Murdaugh, Little & Bonham, L.L.P. located at 2727 Allen Parkway, 

Suite 1100, Houston, TX, 77019. This will be our first in-person meeting 

since the start of COVID. All residents are welcome to attend.

TWIN LAKES HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION, INC 

RULES: COMMUNITY FACILITY: TENNIS COURTS 

GENERAL RULES 

1. Tennis Courts are to be used by Twin Lakes Residents and their invited 

and accompanied guests only. 

2. Use of these facilities by any Unaccompanied Guest and Non-Residents 

is strictly prohibited. 

3. One resident is required to be present and accompany the use of each 

court. 

4. Tennis courts are for tennis only. Backboard is for use with tennis balls 

only. 

5. Residents may reserve one court for no more than two hours. 

6. Instruction and ball machines are only permitted on Court 3. Courts 

1 and 2 cannot be reserved for instruction. A maximum of 6 players are 

allowed on the instruction court at one time. 

7. Court 3 is available for individual play and may be reserved by residents 

of Twin Lakes. 

8. Do not make reservations that you will not honor. A reservation will be 

considered forfeited if not occupied within 10 minutes of the reserved 

time. In consideration of other players, please remove your reservation as 

soon as possible if you do not intend to play. 

9. Unreserved courts are available on a first-come, first serve basis. 

10. Signup sheets will be posed each Saturday at 10 AM for play the 

following Sunday through Saturday. A family may only make up to 3 

reservations per week in advance. Reservations must include the family 

surname. 

11. A tennis instructor is considered guest of the resident who is 

scheduling the lesson. Each tennis instructor must have authorization 

from Twin Lakes Homeowners Association, Inc (the “Association”) 

prior to use of the tennis facilities for conducting instruction sessions. 

(Each instructor is required to contact the onsite security staff at 713- 

466-1629). Each instructor is required to sign an instructor agreement 

promulgated by the Association and must sign in with the guard before 

each instruction session and must provide the surname of the resident 

that they are providing instruction to. 

12. Tennis court play and/or instruction should terminate and lights 

should be turned off by 10 PM. 

13. Trash and discarded balls should be collected and properly disposed 

of prior to leaving the tennis courts.

of our community, the Twin Lakes Board of Directors is asking everyone entering the 

neighborhood to be mindful of their speed limits. We have received complaints of drivers 

rushing past the guardhouse when the expected speed is 5 mph when passing through the 

entrance.

prohibited matter from his lot at regular intervals at his expense and prior to such removal 

all such prohibited matter shall be placed in sanitary refuse containers with tight fitting 

lids in an area adequately screened by planting or fencing so as not to be seen from the

We’re excited to be starting a new year post-COVID 

with a new slate of officers bringing new ideas! We are 

enormously grateful to retiring officers Lisa Clement, VP 

Events, who is returning to Lafayette, LA and to Treasurer 

Darlene Marmottin and Secretary Cecelia Valencia, 

who served TLWA for a combined 37 years! The new 

committees are just beginning their planning, but our very 

first activity will be to greet all of our new residents (about 

35 new households in the past calendar year!) personally

THE BOOK CLUB 

Pat Rheinboldt is hosting a TLWA Book Club discussion Thursday, September 16 th , 6:30-9 

PM. It will be held in the party room at Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen, 1140 Eldridge Parkway 

at Enclave. We can dine first and then enjoy our book discussion afterwards. Pat will 

need to get a head count the week of this meeting. 

The book is called “Tisha” as told to Robert Specht. The book is about a real-life story of a 

woman living in the early 1900s in the Alaskan Wilderness, the children she taught and 

the man she loved. Our former beloved neighbor Ann Owings recommended this book. 

It is a page turner! You’ll have the summer to read the book leisurely.

PET SAFETY IN THE SUMMER 

Every summer, veterinary clinics can set calendars by the number of 

heat related emergencies seen. The variety of symptoms runs from 

dehydration, to heat exhaustion to shock to even death. 

In many areas of the country, temperatures reach the hundred-degree 

mark on a daily basis and heat stroke is a common occurrence. Regular as 

clockwork, dogs are brought in because the owner was going to run into 

the store for just a minute, got to talking to someone and thirty minutes 

or more pass. In just minutes, a closed car can reach temps of 120-140 F. 

A common misconception is that a cracked window is going to make a 

difference. Take the test yourself. Let the dog out of the car, roll down the 

window 2 inches and YOU set in there for 30 or so minutes with the engine 

off. Always remember, you have the option of getting out, your dog doesn’t. 

Another common problem seen with dogs in the summer, are the owners 

that like to let their dogs ride in the back of a truck. The number of instances 

where dogs have fallen out or been dragged behind a vehicle are staggering. 

If the results of falling out at 70 MPH weren’t enough, get a piece of sheet 

metal, set it out in the yard on a hot, sunshiny day and lay on it for several 

hours. Rolling every once in a while to get the full effect of course. Burns to 

skin and the pads of feet are very common in dogs left to ride shotgun. 

Animals tied up to trees, trailers and posts are also high risk. In this 

scenario, dogs are not the only ones at risk. Owners often tie up horses, 

goats, lambs, ponies and all types of livestock never making sure that 

there is nothing the pet can get tangled up on. Never realizing, tangled 

ropes or chains make it impossible to reach shade or water. 

The natural tendencies of cats are to be self-sufficient. As long as they 

have shade and a fresh water supply, they can take care of themselves. 

It is when owners want to take them places or try to put them in cages 

outside, problems occur. There are many who will scoff at the idea of 

having cats in cages, don’t, it happens. Make sure if your pet is outside in 

the summer heat that there is plenty of shade and water!

Rocky Railway Virtual VBS 2021 will be offered to participants ages 

3-years-old through those entering the 6 th grade in Fall 2021. Registration 

will cost $10 per child and will include a packet of supplies needed for 

VBS to successfully be run at home. We will begin VBS at 9:30 AM on 

Facebook Live. Virtual crews will follow the listed schedule:
