PROVOST GUARD

As we look at what’s ahead, we must first look back and mourn the loss of one of the Charter members

of the Provost Guard, Noble Terry Boyer who passed away on April 6, 2021. Terry was the first treasurer

when we stated our Unit in 1986. After serving several years in that office, he moved away and upon his

return to Berks County, Terry was again elected treasurer and later as president for two years. When home

from Florida, Terry was our master chef for many of our Spaghetti Dinners. Thank you, Terry, for your

many years of service to Rajah and the Provost Guard. Well done, good and faithful servant.

And now some important news you should know - DON’T put it off any longer…. pick up your calendar

and PLEASE mark down, Saturday, June 12th. Why you ask? Because this is the date for our first of TWO

All-You-Care-To-Eat Spaghetti Dinners this year as sponsored by the Rajah Provost Guard.

We’ll be serving up freshly made, hot and delicious spaghetti and meatballs, bread, salad and beverages

from 3 until 7 p.m. - all for just $7.00 per person! Tickets will be available at the door.

Scrumptious desserts will also be available for just $1.00 each.

But don’t wait, do it NOW…that’s Saturday, June 12th. Give your BBQ grill a break and come out to the Rajah Shrine Complex

All-Purpose Meeting Room and pull up a chair. A generous platter of hot & delicious nourishment awaits your visit.

Just in case you can’t join us for this date, we will be having our second Spaghetti dinner on Saturday, October 12, 2021, again

serving from 3-7 p.m.

With President Jon Schneider at the helm, we are moving forward on making plans to assist at many of the Rajah events this

year. We’ll start off with the Pote’s Picnic on Wednesday, August 4th, followed by the Sportsman’s Raffle on Sunday, September

19th, the Pretzel Bow, and the Rajah Circus in October.

If you are a member in good standing in Rajah Shrine, pick yourself up, dust yourself off and come join us. The Provost Guard

meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the All-Purpose Room at the Rajah Complex. Come one, come all, it’s

your organization, so join the fun.

LEGION OF

HONOR

Jere Lesher,

PP

Is that light we’re beginning to see

at the end of the COVID-19 tunnel?

I sure hope so. Our Shrine activities

have been rather slim.

However, we have held our LOH

monthly meeting, though attendance

was rather slim. Do your best to make

the meetings on June 8, July 13 and the

Saturday 9:00 a.m. meeting on August

14. Info on our June 5 Commander’s

Ball got out kind of late. We look

forward to (hopefully) a well-attended event. Another of our

usually well-attended events is the LOH Family Picnic held in

the pavilion on July 17 which includes the popular Barnyard

Bingo. Everyone wins some kind of goodies at that Bingo.

We all look forward to a return to our normal Rajah

events and Unit/Club activities. Hopefully, there won’t be a

resurgence causing another lock-down of some sort. Keep our

fingers crossed. It will end.
