Affirmation Of The Week

"I choose to feel safe in this world. My finances are always

protected and I am richer every day."

/ B Y A N I T A R E I S I N G E R

My area of expertise is not finances, but I do

work in the area of money with my clients.

Most of the time we need to reprogram an

unconscious belief that the world is not safe.

Affirmations are just the positive opposite of

a negative “self-fulfilling prophecy”.

When you want to protect your finances I

suggest combining affirmations from

self-love and money.

One important principle to remember is:

The world is what you think it is.”

We have the choice of what kind of world

we see daily.

So why not have a world full of goodness and

grace?

A gratitude journal is always a good addition

to the daily affirmations you do twice a day –

in the morning and in the evening. We can

write down what we are grateful for also in

the area of money.

When we feel secure in our body, mind, and

soul our relationship to money changes also

for the better.

Many people talk about money as energy

these days.

Yes, why not imagine money as a person,

with whom you have a loving relationship.

Money is your friend and supports you in all

ways to achieve your goals and make your

dreams come true.

The Truth

About

Olive Oil

/ BY SHERRY KALLERGIS

Do you know about the healing

properties of olive oil? It has antiaging

properties that make it

perfect for the skin. It contains

antioxidants from vitamin E and K.

It is good for the hair because it is

monounsaturated fat. Hair can

absorb this type of fat, so it helps

retain hydration.

A key foundational piece of the

Mediterranean Diet, olive oil is rich

in nutrients, but it also has strong

anti-inflammatory properties. Since

inflammation is the root cause of

many diseases such as cancer,

heart disease, type 2 diabetes,

metabolic syndrome, Alzheimer’s,

and arthritis research suggests that

olive oil can reduce levels of C-

reative protein (CRP).

A fascinating fact is that 3.4

Tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil

equates to 10% of the adult

ibuprofen dose. (1)

AT FORTY FIVE MAGAZINE /07

A little bit of history, olive trees have been

growing in the Mediterranean since the

8th millennium BC. It was often used in

religious rites.

The main olive oil producers are Spain,

Italy, Tunisia, Greece, and Turkey but

other countries such as the United States

and Australia also grow olives.

What is the difference between olive oil

and extra virgin olive oil?

It is not different grades or types of olives

but instead, it is the process used to

extract the oil from the olives and the

level of free oleic acid.

Extra virgin olive oil, which is an unrefined

oil, has a darker color and a more

pungent aroma. The olives are picked at

their optimum ripeness. There are no

chemicals added and the temperature is

not altered. It contains less than 1% oleic

acid.

The more expensive oil, often it is

considered a finishing oil. Use it for

dipping bread, as a dressing or sprinkled

liberally over fresh and grilled vegetables.

You do not want to cook with it, as raising

the temperature defeats the purpose

When looking for olive oil for cooking

purposes you want to use regular or pure

olive oil. The oleic acid measures between

3 and 4% and this is often a blend of coldpressed

and processed oils.

Host An Olive Oil Tasting

At your next summer get-together,

consider doing an olive oil tasting. You

can buy three or four extra virgin olive

oils. Just like fine wines, different regions

of olive growing produce variations in

flavor.

It is so easy to set up a table with a variety

of pieces of bread (hard and soft), soft

cheeses like goat cheese, roasted veggies,

fresh or dried figs, and other fruits. Use

small saucers or cups to pour out the oils

and give everyone a small notepad to

keep track of their tastings.

Paired with wines, you and your guests

will have a wonderful time ranking the

oils. Your taste buds will thank you.

First of all, there is Lorraine Bracco, an American actress who is renovating her 200-yearold

home in Sicily, which she bought for 1 Euro on a whim. It is the focus of her HGTV

series “My big Italian Adventure”.

Watch her interview with Good Morning America

Next, I found Jasmine Harman from the UK who searches out properties. In this segment,

she is in Abruzzo looking for this English couple Allie and Steve who want to retire in Italy.

Renovating My Little Italian House follows Julie Montagu, from the US, who bought a little

house in the stunning village of Fivizzano in the Tuscany region of Italy. She started a

renovation project, and she is happy to take you along for the ride.

Finally, you can check out the BROS OF DECAY. These young men are students and travel

around Europe to discover stunning abandoned mansions and castles. I am astounded by

what they find. Properties begging to be loved and renewed to their former glory which

definitely could never be found in North America.

These two episodes focus on Italy, but the boys have amassed quite a collection from all

around Europe.

"We had the most fabulous week at Le

Torri. I fell in love with the place

because first, you get an absolutely

stunning self-contained apartment, and

secondly, they are so organized and

dedicated to making sure you have a

fabulous time.

Everybody arrives on a Saturday and

leaves the next Saturday. They have nine

They have a grocery list that you can choose

from before you ever arrive. They will go and

buy it for you, so you have all the basics in your

kitchen.

The first evening they put out a Tuscan buffet

and everyone mingles and meets each other.

The wine flows freely and it is outdoors on the

patio under an arbor of sorts. It was such a

delight.

Then Wednesday night, Gabry’s mother and

the ladies from the surrounding area put on a

Tuscan dinner. It is optional but well worth the

price. It is held upstairs in a big dining room at

a family-style table that seats 15 to 20 people.

They also have a cooking class where you can

learn to cook Italian dishes with the freshest inseason

ingredients. You create a complete

menu from appetizer to dessert led by a chef

and accompanied by family stories behind

each dish. The highlight of course is to sit down

to leisurely eat the meal your hands produced.

What is Incognito?

Incognito, also known as privacy or porn mode, is a feature

Challenge Your Mindset:

What Is It About Good People?

/ B Y S H E R I A L B R A T C H E R D O B E S H P U B L I S H E D I N H E R M E M O R Y

I am happy to have people like you in my circle. Thank

you for allowing me to share about MINDSET.

There is one thing that I think a lot of people deal with

on a daily basis but have a hard time overcoming. WHAT

WILL MY FRIENDS SAY?

No matter what you do in life, we all want gratification.

Remember, you can’t please everyone, ever. You have to

choose whom you want to be. Then be that person, no

matter what.

Anyone that isn’t helping you achieve your goal is

holding you back, period. You attract the kind of life that

you really want. The 6 closest people that you spend the

most time around, form your life.

If you really wanted to find out how to make money,

would you ask your broke uncle? If you wanted to learn

how to play guitar, would you hire a piano–teacher?

People want to change but it scares them. The changes

they see in you scare them. They don’t want to lose you

to a better life, or they get jealous.

You have to have the desire to overcome all obstacles,

big or small. Use these, obstacles, as a challenge for you

to overcome, be positive.

Before your ship can sail, you have to get rid of the

anchors. Also before your ship can sail, you have to have

it supplied with enough fuel to get to the destination

that you are heading for. Without the destination, why

would you ever leave the dock?

True friends will always be there, or they weren’t friends

after all. Don’t let yourself get discouraged by anything

or anyone. Be the person that you want to be. Hang out

with people that you want to be like. Be proud.
