What began as a very chilly morning at State Mines, soon warmed up

and turned out to be a lovely day in the sunshine.

The field ran very smoothly, with everyone arriving and teeing off timeously.

Despite a few hiccups with the scoring system, we were able to get prize

giving underway very soon after the last 4 balls had showered!

A huge thank you to Kevin and his efficient team at State Mines, for all

the help and support and assisting to make the day such a success!

Our next game will be a weekday game at Serengeti. Get your entries

and payments in timeously, to ensure your slot at this game!

Guys, remember to social distance and wear your masks in and around

the clubhouse!

Stay safe and healthy!

Dear Nomads,

The Jack Nicklaus designed Championship golf course did not disappoint, in immaculate condition as

of Taste Sensations’ offering the following services:

As we find ourselves in the middle of the third covid – 19 wave, its important to remain safe, take all the

necessary pre-cautions and adhere to all regulations provided for by the golf courses. Taking this into

account we will not be having a prize giving at our next monthly game at Germiston Golf Club on Sunday

afternoon 18 July 2021.

The best way out, is always through “Robert Frost”

Until we meet on the fairways of Germiston, stay safe.

I certainly do miss seeing you all when working online,

however working from the comforts of home also have

their own merits!

As usual the team at Serengeti was very professional to

work with and I thank them for all the help!

It is a huge pity that there was such a small field, but we

all understand with this huge third wave upon us there

were unforeseeable circumstances for many. Those guys

and families suffering Covid, I wish you all a speedy recovery,

and hope to see you all on the fairways soon!

In the mean-time, stay safe and healthy!

Captains Report

Germiston Golf Club

Dear Nomads,

During my extended term as Captain I once again am able to experience something that no

other Captain has experienced and that is to be able to play a few courses twice during our

playing calendar and that will be the case for a few games to come. It really has been a rollercoaster

experience and I am looking forward to the 2 nd half of the year, holding thumbs that

we may be able to have a few more familiar golfing experiences as we count down to our final

game of the year, the Cargo Gold Cup. This event will be the culmination of the last 2 years

competitions and crown the winners of the various divisions and competitions, make sure you

diarise Sunday the 28 th of November 2021, it will no doubt be one to remember.

It may seem unbelievable but the last time golf has seen these types of increases in golf

rounds was during the time when Tiger Woods took over the golfing world and attracted many

to the game of golf. Due to most other sports being under lockdown, golf has benefitted from

young and old, from all walks of life wanting to get out doors and enjoy some sort of physical

activity. This is great news for Nomads South Africa as there are more golfers than ever walking

the fairways and thus more possibilities to increase our membership and build on the

amazing work that we have done since inception.

To Eugene Liebenberg and everyone involved at Germiston Golf Club we thank you for your

hospitality and the use of your facilities.

This was the smallest field I have ever had to work with!

How sad! We used to get 62 players per side, on the

timesheet!

I do hope that now as the third wave drops, and the

weather warms up, you will all be back on the course,

enjoying our special game.

The Olympic games are coming up, which will be great

TV viewing for us! Enjoy it!

In the mean-time, stay safe and healthy, and to all our

members and families suffering from Covid, get well soon!

Hopefully we will be able to see you all at Reading on 29

August!
