The project for this building, a tenement house from the 19th century in Wrocław,
is a proposion of the restoraon, preservaon and expansion of it.
The form of the building is typical for the historical urban structure of the Wrocław
Market Place - a block based on an elongated rectangular plan (leer L in this case),
covered with a gable roof with a ridge oriented perpendicularly to the street.
Wroclaw suffered the most damage as a result of warfare during World War II. The
reconstrucon of such a badly damaged city was not an easy task and the eleva-
ons were finally restored in the 90’ but mostly in a different shape and style than
they were before. The aim of this project is to go back to their previous appearance
or, at least, to make them visibly similar.
The tenement house has 6 overground storeys, including an ac and one underground
floor. In order for the building to be economically viable, it is necessary to
locate a commercial space on floors -1 and 0. Due to character zone planning
guidelines the basement and ground floor will be dedicated for gastronomy industry
– restaurants and pubs and the higher levels will be designed as office spaces.
