POOL RULES AND PASSES:

Pool Hours Tuesday-Sunday: 6 AM - 10 PM

Cameras are active and monitored at all times, so please follow these set

rules.

We suggest you do not swim on Fridays before 9am as the pool inspector

will be utilizing chemicals to prepare for the weekend rush.

If you have not yet signed a waiver for pool access, there will be a $10-

$20 fee to access the pool. Contact Francesca Garcia at 832-265-8564 for

instructions on how to receive your cards. You may access the waiver at

copperbrookhoa.com. Have a safe and fun summer and please adhere to

the pool rules. No smoking, alcoholic beverages, extra guests, running,

improper behavior or violating any pool rules. These are printed at the

pool. Failure to comply will get your card deactivated.

Park Safety: Parents please accompany all children to the park and make

note the park closes at sundown. This area is monitored by our contract

deputies as well as our park/pool cameras.

VIOLATION LETTERS:

Our community is governed by CC&R’s. All HOA communities have their

own version of what is required to adhere to a cohesive look and maintain

the values of our properties. Governing documents are closely followed

by the HOA Board and Management along with Roach Law Firm. We ask

that you please become familiar with these restrictions and follow them

to avoid violation letters that can escalate to a 209 letter. 209’s letters are

accounts that are referred to the attorney. These letters are charged back

to your account, so please help us to avoid any letter getting to this point.

If you received a letter, the Board is willing to help you find a solution and

hear your concerns. You may attend any meeting via zoom by invitation

through our managing agent.

You may also email copperbrookhoa@gmail.com for a copy of the CC&R’s

or go to the website at copperbrookhoa.com.

NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH COMMITTEE:

If safety is a concern of yours, we have the perfect spot for you. We are

currently looking for more volunteers to be a part of the neighborhood

watch committee. Javier Garcia (832-689-9454) is currently working on

putting a plan together to attain “Block Captains” for each street. You get

notified via a group text concerning safety issues or suspicious activity.

Always contact non-emergency 911 when in doubt of suspicious activity

and know that MUD130 provides 3 full time contract deputies and 3-5

part time deputies for our district. It’s nice to live in a community that is

safe, but we know that living close to HWY6 can cause some challenges

at times. Keep your garage doors closed, cameras in working order and

front door lights on to help curtail crime in our neighborhood.

September 2021 | Copperbrook

SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS:

Surveillance cameras are installed at the pool house, both community

entrances and community park. HOA Board Members and Neighborhood

Committee head has access to the cameras 24-hours with notifications

alerts. The Board of Directors makes every effort in keeping this

community safe, but if you see something say something. Together we

can make a difference.

MONTHLY MEETINGS:

2 nd Thursday of every month via Virtual for homeowners at 5 PM. Contact

our managing agent for an invitation. We welcome homeowners to join

in and listen to all the exciting things the Copperbrook Board works on

a monthly basis.

WATER METERS:

Mud130 has EyeOnWater access to homeowners, which helps keep track

of your water usage. Visit www.eyeonwater.net and you will need your

zip code, account number and email to sign up. Let us know if you need

help getting this setup.

Have a safe summer and remember we are always here to answer any

questions. We look forward to meeting you soon.

GOOD NEIGHBOR DAY

SEPTEMBER 28 TH

Neighbors are an integral part of our social lives - whether at home or at

work. Good Neighbor Day on September 28 th is an annual holiday that

promotes neighborliness and niceness towards people who surround us.

How to Celebrate?

• Be nice to your neighbor - at home or elsewhere.

• If you don’t know your neighbors well, maybe today is your chance to go

up to them and strike up a conversation.

• Bake some goodies and share them with your neighbors. Bring them to

work for your work neighbors.

• Invite your neighbors to your home for a meal.

Did You Know…

…that the word neighbor comes from the Old English word neahgebur,

where neah means near and gebur means inhabitant?

On September 28 th , National Good Neighbor Day is celebrated. This

annual holiday was first proclaimed by President Jimmy Carter in 1978.

Mrs. Becky Mattson from Lakeside, Montana came up with the idea of

a national holiday recognizing the importance of good neighbors in

1971. In 1978, U.S. President Jimmy Carter announced the creation of a

national day aimed at raising public awareness that good neighbors help

achieve human understanding and build strong, thriving communities.

Since then, National Good Neighbor Day has been acknowledged by

various levels of government and is celebrated every year. The holiday

was originally celebrated on the fourth Sunday in September, but in

2003 its date was changed to September 28 th . On this day, Nextdoor.

com, a social network for neighborhoods, announces the recipients of

Nextdoor’s Good Neighbor Award. Everyone can nominate a neighbor or

a group of neighbors by writing a short story about what they have done

to help their local community and make it a better place. National Good

Neighbor Day is the perfect occasion to honor the people who make

significant contributions to creating safer neighborhoods and stronger

communities across the United States.

FRIED CHICKEN

DINNER IN A BOWL

BHG.COM

Ingredients

4 cups shredded cabbage*

1 cup shredded carrots (2 medium)*

¼ cup thinly sliced green onions (2)

½ cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons sugar

1 tablespoon lemon juice

¼ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon ground white pepper

6 purchased or homemade corn muffins

¼ cup butter, melted

14 ounces frozen cooked, breaded chicken breast fillets,

prepared according to package directions

1 15.5-22 ounce can barbecue beans

1 ½ cups chopped green, yellow, and/or red tomatoes (2

large)

¾ cup bottled ranch salad dressing

* If desired, substitute 5 cups packaged shredded cabbage with

carrot (coleslaw mix) for cabbage and carrots.

Directions

Step 1: For slaw, in a large bowl combine cabbage, carrots,

and green onions; toss to mix. In a small bowl stir together

mayonnaise, sugar, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Add dressing

to cabbage mixture, tossing to combine. Cover and chill for 2

hours, stirring occasionally.

Step 2: Meanwhile, preheat oven to 375°F. Cut corn muffins into

1-inch cubes. Place cubes in a large shallow baking pan; drizzle

with melted butter, tossing to coat. Bake for 16 to 18 minutes or

until crisp, stirring twice. Set aside.

Step 3: Transfer slaw mixture to an 8- to 10-cup clear glass bowl.

Cut chicken into strips. Arrange chicken strips evenly over slaw.

Spoon beans over chicken pieces, spreading evenly. Sprinkle

corn muffin cubes over beans. Top with tomatoes. If desired,

cover and chill for up to 6 hours.

Step 4: Just before serving, spoon dressing over all.
