WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) has established opportunities to
support relief efforts in both Haiti and Afghanistan. You can help by giving a special
gift to First Church simply marked “UMCOR” over the next few weeks. You may
give to this project in all of the ways to give we have available here at First Church.
What is received will be divided equally between these two places of crisis in our
world. Remember - when you give to UMCOR 100% of your gift goes directly to
relief efforts. Write UNCOR on memo line if writing a check. Also available on the

PRE-K SMALL GROUP BEGINS THIS WEEKEND
We are excited to begin a small group for 4 and 5 year-olds during the Crossfire
service on Sunday mornings at 9:45 a.m. All 4 and 5 year-olds are invited!
ROOTS BEGINS SEPTEMBER 26
3rd - 6th graders are invited to Roots on Sunday, September 26 from 5:30 - 7 at the
Rt. 8 Campus.
UPCOMING WOMEN’S MINISTRY EVENTS
Women’s Ministry events take place at the Rt. 8 Campus on the second Saturday
of each month, 9:30 - 11 a.m. in Rooms 1 and 2 of the education wing.

COMING UP IN CHILDREN’S MINISTRY...
Scurry over to the Downtown
Campus for “Painting and Pizza
with Miss Sue Burtner”: Saturday
October 16, 5-7:30 p.m. in the
children’s area on the third floor.
Ages 5 - second grade will be
creating their version of “Mouse
Munch” on canvas. Grade 3
and up will paint on canvas their
version of “Pumpkins on Parade”.
Please wear old clothes and
restrain long hair since acrylic paint is messy and permanent. Pizza and drinks will
be provided. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED BY Monday, October 11.” Please include
child(s) full name and age/grade.
FUSION WILL MEET ON 2ND SUNDAYS
Fusion Youth, grades 7 - 12, will meet at the Rt. 8 Campus from 6:30 - 8 p.m. on the
second Sundays of the month (10/10, 11/14, 12/12). The Yeck Farms trip will be held
on October 3, same scheduled time.
