In a time when growers cannot afford to waste<br />
water, Aerobotics has developed insights into<br />
irrigation so that early-stage corrections can<br />
be made to monitor tree stress and ensure<br />
irrigation uniformity is achieved.<br />
How it works<br />
Using thermal imagery we can now compare the<br />
temperature of each tree relative to its environment.<br />
While single-point sensors are important (e.g. soil<br />
moisture probes), we’re measuring how irrigation varies<br />
across every tree in the block.<br />
“The ability to develop a transpirational analysis<br />
and visual mapping allows us to see water stressed<br />
trees before growth is stopped. This provides the<br />
opportunity to identify malfunctioning areas of our<br />
irrigation systems, account for soil differences, and<br />
provide third party validation of what we are doing<br />
on the farms. This information is developed into task<br />
lists for the managers, helping them see the trees<br />

maturity in all grapes. Increasing brix and color can improve<br />
juice phenolic compound levels resulting in measurable<br />
increased wine quality.<br />
KDL’s unique formulation links potassium to a sugar complex<br />
that can quickly penetrate plant tissue – encouraging<br />
sugar development in the leaf and transport into the fruit.<br />
Even when tissue analysis shows adequate K levels, KDL<br />
provides a rapid increase in brix that also encourages color<br />
development and phenolics. KDL also improves uniform<br />
