NEW SDEA SERVICE:

CREATIVE VIRTUAL SHOWCASES

SDEA NEWS

The SDEA are excited to announce the launch of their latest

technological initiative – Creative Virtual Showcases. Do you want

to cost effectively show off your showroom, an exhibition stand,

your warehouse machinery or any other area within your facility

24 hours a day, every day of the year? Then Creative Virtual

Showcases is for you.

Using immersive imaging, Creative Virtual Showcases gives your

current and prospective customers 360º virtual tours around your

chosen area, with hotspots detailing your chosen products or

capabilities. All hotspots can be linked to webpages, videos,

images and more.

Your Creative Virtual Showcase can easily be embedded in any

website page with just a few lines of code. They can also be

downloaded and used as an executable program to enable offline

viewing - for example via a USB stick. This is an extremely useful

function for remote demonstrations or exhibitions away from a

reliable internet connection.

To amplify the visitors to your Creative Virtual Showcase, they will

all be viewable on the SDEA website, SDEA App and the Retail

Focus website, with a combined visitor number of over 40,000 per

month. For the cost of just one week-long virtual exhibition, you

can have all the benefits year round across several platforms.

Pricing starts at just £1,500 (location dependent), including 20

hotspots/products and hosting for 1 year, with hosting just £30

per annum thereafter.

SDEA members receive an exclusive member-only discount of

£250 on their Creative Virtual Showcases.

Creative Design & Display Connections is organised by the

SDEA and Retail Focus, who together established the worldrenowned

Creative Retail Awards.

Our extensive combined background in design and display

in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors makes CDDC the

perfect partner to help buyers and suppliers forge lasting

corporate relationships.

A series of 14 one-to-one meetings will be held between

buyers and suppliers over the course of the day,

We have designed Creative Design & Connections to provide

an element of fun and networking as well as one-to-one

meetings. Our ethos has always been that, after meetings,

business relationships are further strengthened by

networking and fun. This element is incorporated within

CDDC.

The quirky setting of Bounce Old Street, London, will let

suppliers and buyers soak up the atmosphere, play some

ping-pong and enjoy networking drinks and food after the

one-to-one meetings have taken place.

SDEA Members receive an exclusive £500 discount to

Creative Design & Display Connections making the event,

and your membership, even more valuable.

ORMISTON WIRE FLY HIGH WITH

AWARD FROM HEATHROW AIRPORT

Heathrow Airport has unveiled the winners of its Global Britain

Business Champions competition, celebrating some of the SMEs

that export via the UK’s largest port.

This campaign showcases some of the businesses that have kept

the country trading throughout the pandemic and profiles some of

the regions, nations and sectors that benefit from Heathrow’s

connections as the UK’s only hub airport.

Heathrow’s trade links are vital to businesses from a wide range

of sectors, helping connect communities across the UK to each

other and to global growth. These companies use air freight via

Heathrow as it is faster, safer, and more reliable than other forms

of transport. In fact, research from Cebr suggests that cargo

transported through Heathrow includes some of Britain’s highest

quality goods and services and is worth 80 times more per tonne

than shipping freight, covering vital sectors.

Research conducted by Cebr this year shows the value of trade

going through Heathrow in 2019 stood at approximately £188bn.

Cebr forecast that by 2025 this could grow to over £204bn.

The 10 winners, from across the UK, all export either their goods

or services via Heathrow and demonstrate the best of British

quality, innovation, technology, or design. The winners include

Ormiston Wire, the West London based company that provided

the wire for Heathrow’s past umbrella installation to raise

awareness for neurodiversity. Their products have a wide range of

uses, from surgical sutures to special effects for the film industry.

As most of the cargo travelling through Heathrow is transported in

the belly hold of passenger planes, international travel restrictions

have severely impacted global supply chains and international

trade. Heathrow’s August cargo volumes were 14 per cent down

on pre-pandemic levels, while EU hubs, such as Amsterdam

Schiphol and Frankfurt were up by 9 and 6 per cent on 2019,

respectively.

This boost has the potential to impact every part of the UK.

Regions with a strong manufacturing base, such as the Midlands

and North East, are likely to benefit most from future trade

agreements with fast growing economies around the world.

Heathrow’s Chief Commercial Officer, Ross Baker,

said: “Companies in every corner of the UK rely on Heathrow’s

diverse route network to export their goods and services abroad.

Their continued success is crucial to Britain’s post-pandemic

economic recovery, as well as the Government’s own plans for

levelling up every corner of the UK and creating a Global Britain.”
