Daniels visits The First Academy, her<br />

alma mater.<br />

The First Academy community<br />

welcomed a special guest<br />

during halftime at the school’s first<br />

football game of the season. TFA<br />

alumna Teahna Daniels recently<br />

won a silver medal at the 2020<br />

Tokyo Olympics for the women’s<br />

4x100m relay. She is the first TFA<br />

alumni to not only quality for the<br />

Olympics but also to medal. The TFA<br />

family couldn’t be more proud of her<br />

accomplishments.<br />

Team Orlando Watersports<br />

Complex claimed its seventh overall<br />

traditional national title and the<br />

feature title at the 2021 Nautique<br />

World Wake Association Wake Park<br />

National Championships. Wakeboard<br />

teams from across the country competed<br />

at the event hosted by Elite Cable<br />

Park. Not only did the group bring<br />

home the gold, Team OWC had 14<br />

podium finishes and five gold medals<br />

amongst their 34-person team. In the<br />

pro men features division, MetroWest<br />

resident Trent Stuckey won the overall<br />

title. His brother, Gavin, placed<br />

third. Southwest Orlando resident<br />

Will Hooker won the junior men’s<br />

division, and Celebration resident<br />

Bryce Lyles came in second for the<br />

novice wakeboard.<br />

“I am very proud of our team for<br />

winning their seventh consecutive<br />

title during the Nautique WWA<br />

Wake Park Nationals,” said Kellan<br />

Rudnicki, Aktion Parks director of<br />

operations. “The OWC family are<br />

strong individuals [who] care about<br />

the progression of their teammates.<br />

They have written quite a story of the<br />

years, and I am looking forward to<br />

how they will excel in the future.”<br />

Southwest Orlando athletes are<br />

making the cut in collegiate sports.<br />

Methodist University football team.<br />

for Assumption University. Also<br />

Deal competed on season three of<br />

American Ninja Warrior Junior. This<br />

year’s show is divided into three age<br />

divisions: 10, 11-12 and 13-14. Deal<br />

had a great first qualifying run in the<br />

10-year-old division. Mimiking his favorite<br />

animal, the wolf, Deal’s family<br />

howled during his run while he pulled<br />

ahead of his opponent and won the<br />

round. However, his momentum was<br />

stopped during the knockout run, but<br />

his family and friends were proud of his<br />

excellent performance on the TV show.<br />
