MENS CENTER Denver

The Day Justin Showed Up

Was Already a Difficult Day

I had just been told our scholarship

fund was depleted, and there was a

destitute young man waiting in my

office, hoping to get into the program.

I didn’t even know this young man

yet, but I knew in advance I was

going to have to turn him away. The

more I listened to his story, the more

troubled I became. He was 21 years

old, with no family, a serious heroin

addiction, and Stage 4 Cancer. My

heart was heavy because, like many who come to us desperate and broken, this very well

could be the end of the line for Justin. Death was knocking on his door in a very real way.

Even though we couldn’t afford to bring in another student with no way to pay his tuition, I

felt God speaking to my heart saying, “Take Him In.”

Justin joined our residential program and had a real transformation. The first attempt at

irradicating the cancer failed, but he hasn’t given up hope. In the midst of his struggle, he

still has hope and faith in God. He shares the message of the Gospel with the nurses and

doctors he encounters during his appointments, and he is a source of encouragement to

the staff and his fellow students at 180 Ministries. We are only able to help men like Justin

because of your generosity. Thank you!

WOMENS CENTER Olathe

At 52, I had been drinking myself to death. I arrived at

180 Ministries broken, bankrupt, defeated and lost. Then

began the painful, yet necessary, work of unraveling my

past so that I could begin to heal old wounds with Christ’s

help.

It was at my little wooden desk in the 180 classroom that

I came to know God and He began His good work in me.

Thorn by thorn was pulled out until I began to heal. Psalm

56:13, “For You have delivered me from death and kept

my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in

the light of life.” I thank God every day for showing me

His light for it has truly changed my life in ways I never

dreamed possible.

HOW TO BECOME AN ADVOCATE

We would be honored to have you as part of the team. These bullet points will guide

you on what you can do to advocate for 180 Ministries. As a ministry, the biggest hurdle

is having monthly, predictable scholarship income for our students. Across our three

programs, the average for one student for one month is $3,500, which is the lowest

possible option in the recovery community. Most recovery programs are $20K-$30K a

month.

• Visit 180ministries.net to understand the programs and prepare your own personal “elevator

speech” when you encounter people whose loved ones may need our life-saving program.

• Think about who might be in your sphere of influence who can commit to a generous monthly

donation for a year or more.

• You may know a business owner, a CEO of a corporation, a person who sits on a foundation

board, family, or friends who can give a tremendous one-time or monthly gift.

• The ASK. Asking people for money can be a fun experience. Asking people to give translates into

someone’s loved one getting the life-saving help they so desperately need.

• Set personal goals. Your goal can be to get ten people to commit to $1,000 (or any amount) a

month each for one year or longer. Commit to getting five generous one-time gifts before the end

of 2021.

• Feel free to contact us with more coaching or ways we can support you as an advocate.

Thank you for your heart for 180 Ministries. A donation can be made at 180ministries.net/

donate, or mailed to 180 Ministries, PO Box 336, Englewood CO 80151.

To Give as an Advocate, go to 180ministries.net/donate, click the button that says, “Click

to Here to Donate” and select “180 Advocate” from the drop-down menu. If sending a

check or money order, please include 180 Advocate in the memo section.

GIRLS CENTER Tooele

I’m so happy The Lord led me to 180 Ministries

because of the amazing things I’ve seen here, which

I might not have seen anywhere else in the world.

God put me in Utah with girls I now have spiritual

friendships that I would have never had before.

If it weren’t for God and 180 Ministries, I wouldn’t

even know any of the wonderful people I know now.

I’m especially grateful for 180 Ministries because

they introduced me to my savior Jesus Christ, saved

my family’s relationship, and healed my addiction

tendency.
