Car Owner: Richard & Ellie Sanchez
Car: 1965 Chevy Impala
Models: Megan Julian
Car Name: “CNVCT”
This photoshoot was done at a murial on Truman Rd North of HWY I-70. We believed
the colors of the murial would bring out the black paint job of his car.
Richard Sanchez is the proud owner of this gorgeous 1965 Chevy Impala. He has
previously owned every production year of the Chevy Impala, other than 1965 until now.
He was browsing the internet looking for a car and came across a 1964 model that was
in Kentucky. Richard made arrangements for his wife Ellie and his brother Milo to go
and check the car out. The two of them drove 11 hours to Kentucky and arrived at their
destination at around 11:30pm. Milo started the Impala and decided that the car was
not worth what the owner was asking for it, so the two of them left. They could see and
hear that there were too many problems with the car and could tell that the photos had
been editied so the car would sell. Richard’s brother Milo was determined to arrive back
in Kansas City with a car for his brother. They searched for a car online as they were
traveling back towards home. As they were approaching the St Louis area they found
one that was 3 hours North into Illinois. Ellie contacted the seller of this 1965 Impala and
negotiated the price before they made the trip near Chicago, to which the seller agreed.
The previous owner built the Impala for his daughter and the car ended up being too
much for her to handle. Richard’s brother Milo drove the car around the block a few
times before deciding on driving the car from near the Chicago area back to Kansas
City in March of 2020. After the completion of the motor swap and other modifications
that were done within his first year of ownership of this gorgeous 65 Impala, Richard
started showing the car at the begining of the car show season of 2021.
Richard shared with me that the love of cars that he and his brother Milo have, came
from their Father. They lost their Father in Aug of 2020 due to covid.
(R.I.P. Richard Santana Sanchez - Love always!)
“GINGER”
Car Owner: Charles Titsworth
Car: 1977 Plymouth Volare Road Runner
Car name: “GINGER”
Model: Jaimie Diaz
This photshoot was done at LeBenite Park off of HWY 291 in Sugar Creek, MO.
The beautiful rolling river and greenery made for the perfect backdrop to shoot this
spectacular car.
Charles Titsworth is the very proud owner of this rare 1977 Plymouth Volare Road
Runner. He purchased the car in 1989 from its original owner in Claycomo Missouri.
Charles drove this car for about 10 years as a daily driver before deciding to do some
of work on it. At that time the color was Spit Fire Orange and it had some bodywork
done to it. In 2002 he decided to start the full restoration of his Volare Road Runner. He
stored it in his garage, put it on jack stands and started cutting out the rusted panels as
well as fabrications and other body work that the car needed. Charles worked on the
restoration of his car for about 15 years. He explained to me on how hard it was for him
to find the parts needed for the restoration. “You pretty much have to destroy one of the
cars to restore a different one” he said. Charles was only able to work on the restoration
on weekends since his primary job required him to travel out of town during the week.
Charles was the one who completed the full restoration. Which included all of the body
work, paint, graphics package, trim, engine, transmission and brakes. As well as restoration
of the spoiler, fender flairs and many of the other parts of the car. Charles looked
for 10 years for replacements parts for the T-tops and 3 years for the grill. He wanted
everything to be original on his car. The interior was done by George Lafall at Independence
Classics. They did the door panels as well as the front and rear seats. This specific
Road Runner package that Charles has restored was only available in the years of 1976
and 1977. He has been showing his 1977 Plymouth Volare Road Runner since 2017 and as
recieved about 35 different awards.
“KRAKEN”
Car Owner: Bob Manson
Car: 1969 Camaro RS
Models: Endia Sears
Car Name: “KRAKEN”
This photoshoot was done at one of the ponds on Tomahawk Parkway in Leawood
Kansas, a very beautiful area for a shoot.
Bob Manson is the proud owner of this Bad Ass 1969 Camaro RS. He has always
wanted this year of Camaro since he graduated from high school. Bob was browsing the
internet and came across it on EBAY back in 2000. The car was purchased from Waterlou
Iowa. The steering gear box was worn out so Bob pulled a trailer to pick it up and
brought it back to Kansas. He fixed the gear box and drove it around for about 3 months
before he realized that the lug nuts weren’t all the way tight due to the spacers that
were giving clearance for the rotors. Bob has done modifications to this Camaro a total
of three times. First and formost for the past 20 years the color of this car used to be
yellow until he had it painted red during the cars last restoration in 2019. The first time
he had some work done to the car was when the clutch went out. To make matters
worse he also found out that the frame was bent. So he bought a new sub frame and
had it powder coated and changed the motor to an LS3 with a 4L80E transmission. Then
in 2012 he found out the floor boards were rusted out when he had a new rearend installed
and mini tubs done so that 335 tires could fit. While they were replacing the floor
pans and the trunk, Bob also had a stage3 ride tech suspension installed. The third and
final modification was a complete customization of the Camaro RS starting in December
of 2019 which was completed in June of 2021 to the car you see in the pictures. So many
customizations and modifications were done to make this one BAD ASS Camaro!
Bob Manson has won several Best of Shows and Best of Class awards, along with
peoples choice and many others. This Camaro is not a trailer car.
“SHO NUF”
Car Owner: Clint Sletten
Car: 1973 Plymouth Road Runner
Car name: “SHO NUF”
Model: TyAnne Schulte
This photoshoot was done at Mano’s Wine at 1919 Cherry in the crossroads of Kansas
City MO. The colorful wall has many murials of art that highlight the whole building.
Clint Sletten is the proud owner of this bad ass 1973 Plymouth Road Runner. He purchased
the car when he was 16 years old. When he bought it the color was root beer
with metallic flake. Clint drove it for awhile and was enjoying the thought that this Road
Runner was his. He decided to do some things to the car to improve its performance. He
quickly learned that he was not as mechanically inclined as he thought at that time, so
the car ended up sitting for awhile. Finally in 2003, Clint decided to get started on the
restoration of the car. The restoration process took about 2 years to do the body work,
paint and to rebuild the engine. The engine was built to 30 over 440 with 2 holleys. Clint
took the car straight to the track when the rebuild was done. The Road Runner was running
as an 11 second car in 2005. He ended up racing the car for about 5 years at the
Cardova Dragway in Cordova Illinois.
As all of us know things happen in life that our passions have to be set aside for
awhile, so the car sat once again from 2010 to about 2015. Until a time came when his
son encouraged him to resurrect the Road Runner once again! The second restoration
of the car went through 5 years of trial and error. With Clint having the love for racing
and knowing he wanted to be on the track, the car went through a few transmissions
and a rear end. He ended up completing the car in 2020, with everything new from front
to back!
“THE TYRANT”
Car Owner: Shane Peterson
Car: 1985 Monte Carlo
Car name: “THE TYRANT”
This photoshoot was done at the murial wall of The Escape Room next to Fox Equipment
in the crossroads of Kansas City. The expression of the characters on the wall
sums up the reaction when Shane starts his Monte up!
Shane Peterson is the proud owner of this” hella nice” 1985 Monte Carlo. He has always
owned custom cars with a lot of power, mostly imports. He has a love for cars and
going fast. Shane was having problems with the import that he owned for three years.
He decided to part out the import, then went online looking for a new car to build. Back
in 2018 while browsing, he came across this 1985 Monte Carlo. Shane has always liked
the G body style cars. Shane contacted the owner, then went on a road trip with his
wife and kids to Platte City Missouri to check the car out. He fell in love with the car! The
Monte was just like the owner said it was, so he bought it on the spot. Shane drove the
car back to Kansas City to enjoy the drive. When he arrived back home, he decided to
take it out and have a little fun. Shane ended up blowing the rear end out of the Monte
Carlo. He was so frustrated because he finally got a G body style like he always wanted.
He put it in the shop and started the fabrication process. Shane had the interior
removed and the engine swapped out. His Monte Carlo lived in the shop for the last 3
years until the car was ready in the summer of 2021.
Shane Peterson is very family oriented! He really enjoys spending time with his wife
and kids, whether it is hanging out at home or at the track!
