Lincolnshire Training Hub

About Us:
Established in 2015, our team
represents the professions working
in Primary Care and we are fully
committed to supporting the growth
of the Primary Care workforce to meet
the needs of the local population.
What We Do
Lincolnshire Training Hub assists with workforce
transformation in Primary Care. We work with
our partner organisations Lincolnshire CCG, the
Lincolnshire STP, the LMC, PCN Alliance and
universities across the East Midlands to promote
Primary Care as a first-choice career destination.
We also work to attract current and future
Primary Care staff to Lincolnshire, promoting the
county as an attractive and unique location in
which to live and work.
Our role is to meet the educational needs of the
multidisciplinary Primary Care team. The face of
Primary Care is changing, and LTH is committed
to supporting the workforce, recruitment,
retention and developmental needs of practices
and PCNs.
We undertake a broad range of projects within
this remit, including:
• Promoting healthcare careers to secondary
school students interested in a future career in
medicine, nursing, pharmacy and the allied
healthcare professions
• Sourcing multi-professional student
placements
• Assisting those seeking employment within
Primary Care
• Helping to develop the Primary Care
workforce
• Leading initiatives in Primary Care across
Lincolnshire
• Sourcing high quality training and funding
to support the workforce
• Representing the Primary Care
workforce at a local and national level
Funding
We currently receive two main funding streams
from Health Education England (HEE) to drive
our workforce transformation activities:
WDF monies are ringfenced for activities that
target the improvement and transformation
of care delivery, requiring scale of education
and training intervention. Each financial year,
Lincolnshire Training Hub is allocated a sum of
WDF monies based on the current headcount of
Primary Care staff working within Lincolnshire.
We use these monies to commission training
courses for both clinical and non-clinical Primary
Care staff in the county based on training needs
identified in our annual practice-level and PCNlevel
training needs analyses.
CPD monies are intended for individual personal
and professional development informed by the
appraisal process. Each practitioner working
within the list of eligible roles set out below is
entitled to access £1000 of CPD monies over
the course of a three-year period starting from
2020/2021, i.e. £333 in 2020/2021, £333 in
2021/2022 and £333 in 2022/2023.
We use CPD monies to commission selected
courses at scale to deliver optimum value for
practitioners. Practitioners may also use the
funding to undertake an alternative course of
their own choice.
