„Smart“ in <strong>Berlin</strong> refers to the<br />
way challenges are approached<br />

new technologies is intended to<br />
strengthen social values and, above<br />
all, the democr<strong>at</strong>ic community. In<br />
<strong>Berlin</strong>, the new Smart City Str<strong>at</strong>egy<br />

about digitalis<strong>at</strong>ion and urban<br />
development together. Within this<br />
process the particip<strong>at</strong>ion of the<br />

The former <strong>Berlin</strong>-Tegel Airport will<br />
be redeveloped and transformed in<br />
order to make the German Capital<br />
greener, smarter, and more liveable<br />
than ever before:<br />
On its 500-hectar grounds, <strong>Berlin</strong><br />
TXL – the Urban Tech Republic, a<br />
research and industrial park for urban<br />
technologies and Schumacher<br />
Quartier, a new residential district<br />
will be developed; as well as a<br />
200-hectar landscape area which<br />
will be developed by Grün <strong>Berlin</strong>.<br />
The St<strong>at</strong>e of <strong>Berlin</strong> has commissioned<br />

development and management of<br />
<strong>Berlin</strong> TXL – the Urban Tech Republic,<br />

The CityLAB <strong>Berlin</strong> is a public<br />
experimental labor<strong>at</strong>ory for<br />
the city of the future. Here,<br />
represent<strong>at</strong>ives from government,<br />
civil society, academia and startups<br />
collabor<strong>at</strong>ively develop new<br />
ideas for how to both ensure and<br />
enhance the livability of <strong>Berlin</strong><br />
as a city. The CityLAB <strong>Berlin</strong><br />
combines elements of a digital<br />
workshop, a co-working space<br />
and event space into a single<br />
loc<strong>at</strong>ion where particip<strong>at</strong>ion and<br />

Founded in 2015, MOTIONTAG<br />

The Smart Country Convention<br />
(October 18 to 20, 2022) is<br />
Germany’s largest congress for the<br />
digitiz<strong>at</strong>ion in the public sector. As<br />
a driving force for the future of a<br />
modern public administr<strong>at</strong>ion, smart<br />
cities and smart regions, SCCON is<br />
a must for all key players who want<br />
to drive the digital change.<br />
In over 300 sessions on four<br />
stages, an expo on more than<br />
10,000 m², in numerous workshops<br />
and dedic<strong>at</strong>ed digital conferences,<br />
pioneers will show how digitiz<strong>at</strong>ion<br />

25 years of experience in the<br />
