A LIBERAL, HUMANE,
PROGRESSIVE EDUCATION.
We lead the way in providing outstanding
education for girls. For more than 120 years,
Mentone Girls’ Grammar has been empowering
girls to aspire to excellence and make a real
difference in the world.
Academic excellence in action
We have a long history of academic excellence. Our
girls are inspired to be bold, to be curious and to take
responsibility for their own learning. Each year, our
students surpass their own expectations, both individually
and collectively. Almost three-quarters of the Class of
2020 achieved an ATAR over 80 – evidence of a learning
culture that lifts everyone up.
A size that helps girls thrive
Our school is big enough to embrace diversity – there’s
space for each girl to find her ‘people’. It’s small enough
to create a sense of intimacy and community, where
every girl is known and valued. Our size means we can
offer a wealth of co-curricular activities, but girls aren’t
excluded due to competition for places. If a student
needs support, she knows who to go to. And because
her peers, school leaders and teachers all know her, they
know how to help her.
A community that cares
Staff work in partnership with parents, alumni and
students to help each girl develop her strengths, follow
her passions and uncover her purpose. Our 122-year
history gives students access to an impressive, multigenerational
network of remarkable women, including
meteorologists, physicists, psychologists, authors,
sportswomen and lawyers, who generously provide
mentoring and support simply because they love their
school.
Forward thinking. Future focused.
While we’re focused on supporting the holistic needs of
today’s students, we’re constantly innovating to ensure
we meet the needs of the students of tomorrow. We
encourage girls to take risks and apply a growth mindset.
From competition-level debating to pitching a business
idea; from diving off the springboard to sailing on the
bay, our girls are empowered to navigate and embrace
whatever challenges and opportunities come their way.
ONE CAMPUS.
ONE COMMUNITY.
Steps from the Bayside beaches, our stunning
single campus supports our holistic approach to
education.
Early Learning
The unique blend of inquiry and play-based learning in
our Early Learning Centre (ELC) forms the foundation
of each girl’s educational experience. Every day is an
adventure, offering endless possibilities to play, explore,
develop relationships and engage with life’s joys and
challenges. Each ELC group has a full-time early childhood
teacher and a full-time early childhood qualified coeducator.
Dedicated indoor and outdoor learning spaces
inspire exploration, curiosity and creativity. Both threeand
four-year-old ELC programs offer flexible three-,
four- or five-day options to suit every family.
Junior School
In a nurturing environment, girls are encouraged to
try new things, take risks and be bold. From sport to
STEM, arts to enterprise, they are free to explore their
developing interests and passions. Our intentional
teaching program is based on the principles of the
International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme
(PYP), where girls learn through inquiry, creativity and
self-reflection. Throughout Junior School, girls develop
confidence, capability and self-worth – invaluable assets in
their senior years and beyond.
Senior School
Our Senior School students are encouraged to explore
a myriad of pathways through our middle years electives
program, which enables them to take ownership over
their learning. We offer a diverse selection of VCE and
VET subjects for senior students, catering for a broad
range of interests and pathways. Through consistent
exposure to a rigorous academic curriculum, specialist
subject teachers and exceptional pastoral care, they learn
to read widely, inquire deeply and think critically.
Coeducational - Kindergarten to Year 12, Day and Boarding, Anglican
In its 60th year, Peninsula Grammar School holds its place as the preeminent school on the Mornington Peninsula. An
open-entry, coeducational school, located one hour’s drive south of Melbourne, the School is situated on 80 acres of
gently sloping natural bushland and is renowned for the depth of opportunity it affords each child. With an exceptional
record of academic achievement, a strong sporting program, and a performing arts program with an unsurpassed
record of distinction, the School is inherently proud of its culture of excellence.
Facilities
Privileged to be located in one of the most sought-after corners
of the country, extending across Mount Eliza, with stunning
views of Port Phillip Bay, the School is renowned for its evolving
landscape and the considerations it makes when building
new learning environments. Its most recent building, ALATUS,
is designed to combine technology and critical thinking in a
purpose-built environment that challenges students to rethink
their learning and discover fact from fiction. Our state-of-the-art
Science Centre provides a pre-tertiary context of exploration
where theoretical studies and laboratory experiences work
hand in hand to deepen student’s inquisitive nature and innate
understanding of the
scientific world. With three
gymnasiums, two outdoor
heated swimming pools,
soccer ovals, grass tennis
courts and three more
ovals, the School sets the
benchmark for natural
beauty and exceptional
learning environments.
Curriculum
A Kindergarten to Year
12 school, our curriculum
provides a depth of learning necessary for students in the 21st
century. While we are proud to be able to offer a multitude of
subjects, it is the work done to enhance the learning and growth
of every child within these subjects that matters most to us.
We are particularly proud of our bespoke ALATUS curriculum,
evolutionary in nature and driven by student interest, it is a
powerful example of the transformation of education and the
necessity of ensuring students learn how to think and develop
the confidence and the skills to question. Our VCE program
offers 34 subjects to students and enables them to choose
a pathway that best suits them. With exceptional and highly
experienced leaders in the VCE, the program ensures that every
child knows success throughout their final years at the School.
Cocurricular Programs
We are renowned within the state of Victoria for the exceptional
quality of our Performing Arts and Music programs. Students
are afforded the experience to learn from some of the most
recognised and professional theatrical leaders and musicians
and in so doing the richness of their experience is unsurpassed.
Regularly featuring in the VCE Top Class program, we are
inherently proud of our student successes. Our Outdoor
Education programs, particularly at Year 9 and 10, further the
opportunity for students to be exposed to experiences that gift
them greater insight into their own passions and pursuits, and
we are excited by our future plans and evolution of our Outdoor
Education curriculum.
Music
It has long been known that music enhances the developmental
pathways of children in many ways. At Peninsula Grammar, we
invest heavily in our Music program, so as to gift our student’s
success on stage and inspire them to think outside the square.
Students enjoy a broad range of musical experiences from
the Junior Years Music program to VCE Music Performance in
conjunction with our exceptional instrumental, ensemble and
vocal programs.
Performing Arts
Peninsula Grammar’s Performing Arts program offers our
students incredible experiences and opportunities to live
their best lives. Each year our students take centre stage in
multiple performances including our Junior Years Mini Musical
Extravaganza, and our renowned Middle Years and Senior
Years productions. Winner of a substantial number of awards,
our Senior Years production sets the standard for student
performance and is a highlight of our annual calendar.
Sport
Our sporting traditions are as old as our school, yet as
transformational as society today. We are inherently proud of
the growth of our sporting program, in particular our women’s
AFL team and our touch football and cricket teams. Peninsula
Grammar is a member of the Associated Grammar
Schools of Victoria (AGSV). Our Middle and Senior
School students compete in the winter and summer
sports competition as part of their exposure to a
curriculum that spans far beyond the classroom.
Significant emphasis is placed on the necessity
of resilience through team commitment, skill
development and sportsmanship.
Wellbeing & Positive Education
As a proud school of Positive Education, we pride
ourselves on the learning experiences we provide
all students in better understanding their emotions
and their existence within the world. We have strong
pastoral support networks that work closely with every family
to ensure that the growth and development of each child is
experienced through a holistic framework of knowing who they
truly are.
Art, Design and Technology
The Art, Design and Technology program provides a purposeful
balance between breadth and depth of contemporary and
traditional practices and caters for the individual differences
of students. Students from Kinder to Year 12 are encouraged
to develop an awareness of how the art and design process
communicates values, ideas and meaning. They are asked
to ‘think, imagine, create and appreciate’ in our art program.
Starting from Kinder, creativity, exploration, skills and processes
are embraced, encouraged and celebrated. Our art shows are
considered some of the best on the Mornington Peninsula, with
some of our students going on to study at the Victorian College
of the Arts and pursue artistic professions in their own right.
Boarding
With the evolution of the pandemic altering the landscape of our
boarding context this year, we remain committed to our Boarding
Program and the richness that our international and domestic
cohort add to our school. With two Boarding Houses located in
distinct areas of the campus, the School works to provide our
boarders with an unsurpassed learning experience, that enables
them to not only pursue excellence but to learn more about
themselves. We have a long and proud association with schools
across China, Vietnam and Malaysia and are excited by the
possibilities of reimagining our boarding program this year.
Scholarships
At Peninsula Grammar, we celebrate aspiration and
achievement. Our scholarship program offers opportunities
for exceptional students to reach their full potential. We have a
diverse array of opportunities including academic and general
excellence scholarships for Years 5, 7, and 9 as well as other
opportunities to explore. Read about all our Scholarships on our
website or feel free to consult with our admissions team directly.
SCHOOL CHARACTER
Independent
Year 12
Established in 1914, St Leonard’s College
is Bayside’s school of choice and one of
Melbourne’s premier independent schools,
educating students from ELC3 to Year 12.
Generations of Leonardians have enjoyed
exceptional educational experiences and
thrived on the wonderfully diverse opportunities
on offer at our college.
At St Leonard’s College, our young people
are educated in a physically, emotionally and
spiritually safe environment where they are
genuinely known, nurtured and loved. We are
unwavering in our commitment to developing
the whole child – head, heart and soul.
St Leonard’s College is committed to the
authentic values that reflect the community
we serve. Our young people are encouraged
to take responsibility for their learning and
the active daily demonstration of the values
we instil.
Our students are welcomed into a warm, caring,
connected community with an ethical culture
founded upon a strong moral purpose: to
develop genuine global citizens who respond
to inequity, inequality and injustice.
2022 marks 40 years since St Leonard’s
College became Victoria’s first International
Baccalaureate (IB) World School. The IB’s
internationally-focused programmes aim to
develop global citizens who are armed with the
necessary skills, values and attitudes required
to build an economic and social future in an
increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex and
ambiguous world that is rapidly globalising.
Our teachers are carefully selected for their
academic prowess in addition to their ability
to nurture the development of self-confidence,
integrity, resilience and creativity. We seek to
develop students who understand that their
education is not only about what it can bring to
their life, but through them what it can bring to
the lives of others.
A recognised leader in education, in 1972
St Leonard’s College became the first single-sex
independent school in the state to introduce
co-education. In 2022 we celebrate 50 years
delivering genuine co-education and outdoor
education. Our vast experience tells us that
both girls and boys thrive when they learn and
grow alongside each other in an environment
that truly reflects life beyond the school gates.
“The thing I love the most about Trinity is the
abundance of opportunities given to us. We are
provided with the facilities to become the best
versions of ourselves, in whatever form that is.
Trinity has given me the platform to explore my
interests, and excel in all aspects of my life, and
I am so thankful for that opportunity.”
Torren, Year 12
Established in 1902, Trinity Grammar School,
Kew is an Anglican, Independent school for
boys located in the inner-East suburbs of
Melbourne, Victoria.
At Trinity, we know that every student is different
and every educational journey is unique. On
the path from early childhood learning to
high school graduation, we strive to help our
students discover and develop their passions,
and inspire them to find their resilience as they
encounter challenges along the way.
Academically, our students perform
exceptionally well from the junior level through
to VCE. Through the Coordinate Program with
Ruyton Girls’ School, Trinity students are also
able to extend their studies and their minds in a
co-educational learning environment.
In alignment with Trinity’s academic curriculum
is a comprehensive cocurricular program.
Sport, music, performing arts, technology,
design, hospitality and more are supported
by specialist teachers and facilities, including
expansive sport and outdoor education
locations in Bulleen, Nillahcootie and Licola.
The community that surrounds Trinity is centred
in togetherness. The values of courage and
compassion, which are also reflected in the
‘Harambee’ student service program, stretch
well beyond graduation and into an extensive
alumni network, parent community and staff
cohort who together characterise what makes
Trinity, ‘Trinity’.
Ultimately, we strive to see our students
and graduates become the best version of
themselves, whatever that may be.
Message from the Principal
“At Trinity, we seek to reveal and foster our
students’ character. We challenge them to
be conspicuous for their kind treatment of
themselves and others, and to aim to be the
best version of themselves.”
there are no boundaries. Our girls truly care
about each other and the things that matter in
life. CGGS girls whole-heartedly explore their
passions and interests and together, they
create an environment that has to be felt to
be believed.
At CGGS, education is designed for every girl
because quite simply, we are every girl. We
recognise the vital importance of preparing our
girls for life and work in a rapidly changing world.
Being intentional and explicit about our design
of education matters if we want young people
to thrive. The school is constantly building new
programs, experiences and opportunities both
in and out of the classroom to ensure that our
girls are fully prepared for their futures.
Every girl’s education is enriched by
the extraordinary array of co-curricular
opportunities on offer at CGGS. Our wide
range of activities and clubs enable CGGS girls
to explore physical, creative, social and career
interests with like-minded peers. With over 90
offerings, CGGS has something for every girl
to be actively involved in and to make her own
contribution to school life and culture.
Wellbeing is embedded into every facet of
school life at CGGS. Our own model, 360° of
Being, incorporates five key domains - health,
respectful relationships, positive education,
environmental appreciation and cognitive
engagement. It underpins everything we do,
because we know when wellbeing is at its
optimum, girls flourish.
The school motto, Utilis in Ministerium (Useful in
Service), is the core of what it means to be part
of CGGS. Our girls quickly learn the importance
of helping others and contributing to the wider
community. It’s not just about raising funds, but
about giving time to those in need and learning
from others. Our Service Learning Program and
dedicated classes, raise consciousness about
injustice, encourage empathy and allow our
girls to take action.
CGGS is a vibrant, multicultural and highly
inclusive school that offers opportunities for
every girl to create her tomorrow. CGGS girls
leave the school with global perspectives and a
determination to pursue their dreams.
Student achievement and the pursuit of
excellence are sources of great pride at
Caulfield Grammar School - but it is not why we
exist. Our purpose is to enable quality learning
every day in every experience for every learner
for life.
Girls and boys are provided with continuity
of learning throughout their entire school
journey from Early Learning to Year 12. As
a multi-campus School, established in 1881,
each campus has its own unique learning
environment and sense of culture. What unites
us as one school, and helps each student find
their place, are our purpose and our values.
Our students developed their own set of
behaviours that sit within our values.
State-of-the-art technology, blended with
modern learning spaces and outstanding
facilities, ensures that students can follow their
individual passions. Students are nurtured in
the way we teach, the breadth of co-curricular
offerings, and our commitment to every
learner’s wellbeing.
Our educators take a personalised approach to
learning, constantly seeking out international
best practice and innovation to anticipate and
plan for emerging skills and careers. In the
ELC and junior years, learning experiences
and spaces are designed to cultivate creativity,
curiosity, connection and compassion. Our
broad Years 7 and 8 core-curriculum ensures
a strong foundation for success in senior
years – including Learning Mentors monitoring
academic and pastoral progress. Community
Projects engage Year 9 students in holistic,
real-world learning experiences. VCE subjects
are offered from Year 10, with an emphasis on
helping learners focus on entry preparation to
the tertiary course or career of their choice.
We aim to nurture all in our community to
become and remain ‘well beings’. Our School
Values underpin a commitment to take
responsibility for personal wellbeing while
positively impacting on the wellbeing of others,
and can be seen, heard and felt throughout our
community interactions.
• We are an authorised school to deliver The
strong ATAR results and their contributions to
the community.
MENTONE GIRLS’ GRAMMAR
MELBOURNE METRO
ELC - Year 12
www.mentonegirls.vic.edu.au
Mentone Girls’ Grammar is an independent
Anglican K-12 girls’ School based in the outercity
suburbs of Melbourne. The glorious Port
Phillip Bay is at our front door, boasting an
idyllic learning backdrop for our girls across all
year levels.
With relationships forming the cornerstone
of any truly great school, it is no surprise that
our nurturing environment – where every girl
is known, seen and heard – creates a strong
sense of belonging that underpins their time
with us.
We have the fundamental belief in the potential,
humanity and goodness of every child. At
Mentone Girls’ Grammar, we strive to address
the deep-seated existential need for students
to transcend beyond their own expectations.
The word transcendence comes from the Latin
prefix trans, meaning ‘beyond’ and the term
scandare, meaning ‘to climb’.
We know girls and we use our expertise in girls’
education to support them in reaching their full
potential in whatever pathway they choose.
Through our holistic approach of supporting the
whole girl we are focused on empowering them
to become confident, capable young women.
Academic success is the number one reason
our families choose Mentone Girls’ Grammar.
We pride ourselves on producing well-rounded
and articulate girls who are equipped with the
knowledge, skills and confidence to challenge
the real world in hope of a better future.
Year 7
Year 12
Situated across two campuses in the inner
city of Melbourne, Simonds Catholic College
is in a unique position of being the only
Catholic school for boys on the doorstep of
the CBD.
Year 7-9 students start at the St Mary’s
Campus, West Melbourne, which is just two
blocks away from the Queen Victoria Market.
Students move to the Year 10-12 Campus in
Fitzroy North for their senior studies.
The College motto, ‘Known, Supported,
Inspired’ conveys the essence of our mission.
The school is a learning community that
promotes student wellbeing, safety and
positive relationships, so that students can
achieve success and reach their full potential.
Our outstanding teachers deliver high quality
programs to students within a spiritual,
academic, cultural, social, and sporting
dimension. There is a very strong sense
of community and partnership amongst
students, staff and parents as the College
strives to produce the best possible outcomes
for all students. Every student is capable of
successful learning and Simonds Catholic
College has high expectations for student
engagement, attendance, behaviour and
learning outcomes.
“Dear Young People ... Do not be afraid to
dream of great things” -- Pope Francis
Our teachers are experts in knowing how to
reach and teach boys and help them succeed
beyond anyone’s expectations - even their
own.
Research shows the importance of wider
reading in the development of crucial cognitive
skills, expanding vocabulary and developing
general knowledge. This is why we introduced
the Reading Equals Power (REP) program. Our
Year 7-9 students read novels of their choice
during scheduled sessions and their efforts
are celebrated through the presentation of
awards for “most improved”, “most books
read” and “most quiz points scored”. Our boys’
reading habits have changed dramatically.
Reading really does give students power in
the classroom and power in life.
• A leading, inner city Catholic boys’ school
• Small school with big opportunities, in the heart
of the city
• Our teachers are experts in teaching the way boys
learn best, achieving outstanding outcomes for
our students
• We are committed to small class sizes to ensure
your son will receive the attention he requires to
achieve his personal best
• Through our holistic approach of supporting our
boys, they develop into confident, well rounded
young men who have hope for their future
• Specialist classrooms for STEM, music, visual arts,
food technology
• Students are provided with an abundance
of opportunities to represent the school in
activities from Debating, Public Speaking, Chess,
Performing and Visual Arts through to our
numerous ACC sporting teams
Following our acquisition of a multi storey building on
Chetwynd St and the completion of refurbishment of
existing areas, we are thrilled to announce that Simonds
Catholic College will become one school on one campus.
By 2023 all students across Year 7-12 will be based at our
XAVIER COLLEGE
MELBOURNE METRO
3yo Kindergarten - Year 12
xavier.vic.edu.au
Xavier College is a Jesuit Catholic school
founded by the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits)
in 1878. It belongs to a worldwide network of
over 2000 Jesuit educational institutions. A
Jesuit education encourages the individual to
develop his talents and fosters reflection so
that the person’s heart, mind, body and spirit
may become fully engaged to serve in the
wider world. Our aim is excellence in education
and the formation of reflective, compassionate
and articulate men of Christian faith, hope and
love who will provide outstanding service and
leadership in our world.
Curriculum
In the Early Years, Xavier uses the International
Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP),
which promotes a transdisciplinary approach to
education. The Victorian Early Years Learning
and Developmental Framework Curriculum
also strongly influence the way in which we
view our students and shape and deliver our
Programme.
In the Middle Years, the curriculum is taught
sequentially using an inquiry approach.
The program gives students increased
responsibility for their own learning and
emphasises intellectual development,
negotiation skills and peer support. It allows
students to progress according to their
differing rates of accomplishment. There are
also programs in Mathematics and English to
extend students in their learning. The Learning
Enhancement Program covers the individual
needs of students during both the Early and
Middle Years. It focuses on a spectrum of
learning difficulties, with support provided
through consultations with a wide range of
specialist staff and external professionals.
Programs for gifted and talented students are
also available. In the Senior Years, students are
divided into ten Houses. From Year 9 onwards,
each student is assigned a tutor to oversee
both their academic progression and overall
wellbeing. This tutor group system provides
students with support, encouragement and a
strong sense of community.
At Erasmus Primary School, we
recognise the power of attention as
the master key to the development of
your child. Focused attention brings
stillness, intelligence, happiness,
courage and every virtue that is needed
for the discovery and development of
your child’s talent – be it academic,
artistic, physical or emotional. We use
simple mindfulness exercises to help
focus the mind and enable your child
to develop an inner quiet, strength
and steadiness. They are then able to
attend to the task at hand with greater
application.
Year 12
St John’s College is an independent co-educational
Christian school, educating students from Prep to Year
12 for over 40 years. We are a learning community within
which our families and staff all know one another and
work together to support our students on their journey
from childhood to being independent young adults. Our
goal is to support our students to achieve ‘philotimo’: to
walk the right path in life. We work together to support
our students’ growth by setting high expectations,
providing personalised learning opportunities, and
prioritising pastoral care. Our College is a learning
environment within which each young person is
respected for who they are as individuals. Our mission
is to foster a love of learning, an appreciation of the
Hellenic culture, and to live the Christian values of
love, kindness, responsibility and humility. We strive
to provide high-quality education and care for our
students within a vibrant, progressive and inclusive
learning environment that integrates Christian values
across the curriculum. We are a single campus College
that operates as two co-located sub-schools. The main
entrance to the College is via Blanch Street. The benefit
of a Prep to Year 12 school is family friendly drop off and
pick up as well as our primary aged children being able
to access facilities such as the STEM Centre and Sports
and Arts Centre.
Our facilities include a Digital Technology/Robotics Lab,
a Food Technology Centre and a College Chapel. We
offer a Sports and Arts Centre, a fully equipped fitness
centre, five outdoor playing courts and two ovals. Our
students participate in a wide range of sports including
soccer, hockey, netball, softball, basketball, cricket,
football and tennis. The school has a generously
resourced music room, recording studio, band
rehearsal room and two Visual Arts studios. School
events include concerts, instrumental music soirees
and a Rising Star talent show. St John’s also has a
well-resourced Library and offers specialist classes in
Physical Education, Library, Music and Greek language.
SECONDARY SCHOOL
Our Secondary School offers rigorous learning
programs within which learning tasks and approaches
are appropriate to the learning needs of our students.
We offer safe and welcoming classroom environments
in which expectations are high for all students. We also
strive, through our shared expectations, to provide an
environment as free from distractions as possible and
in which all students are learning ready and able spend
their class time on task. Our smaller class sizes allow
our teachers to maximise learning time, extend and
support students, and also provide a welcoming and
nurturing environment. In the Senior Years we offer
multiple pathways (VCE and VCAL), careers guidance
and a comprehensive career readiness program.
PRIMARY SCHOOL
Our Junior Years teachers aim to develop confident,
independent learners who are willing to ask questions
and absorb new ideas. Alongside skills in literacy and
numeracy, our Junior Years students also undertake
specialist classes in Integrated Studies, Digital
Technologies, Physical Education, Library, Music and
Greek language. We also offer learning technologies
integrated into each classroom. Pastoral care and
Orthodoxy form a core part of our curriculum to ensure
we nurture the development of our children socially,
emotionally and spiritually.
• State-of-the-art STEM Centre (Science,
Technology, Engineering and Math) with the
Alphington Grammar School (AGS) is
an independent school located in the
leafy heart of Melbourne’s north-eastern
suburbs. Our community-minded, culturally
rich learning environment inspires students
to aspire to pursue excellence in all they do.
Valuing our multicultural school community
and ‘global thinking’ is key to an AGS
education. With specialised programs that
take students around the globe, we instill
in students a strong sense of their part in
the world, their history and culture, and how
they can contribute in the future.
AGS students receive a highly personalised
education. Individuals can flourish
academically and develop their social
and emotional skills without getting ‘lost
in the crowd’. As a result, the confidence,
personal development, and outlook of AGS
students is outstanding.
Yarra Valley Grammar Overview
Established in Ringwood in 1966 and set on
a spacious 30-hectare single campus, Yarra
Valley Grammar overlooks the picturesque
Dandenong Ranges. Our students excel under
the guidance of great teachers who love what
they do and seek to inspire them to strive for
excellence. The School offers an extensive
range of contemporary opportunities and sets
high standards of performance, encouraging all
students to achieve their personal best. Great
teachers are able to communicate complex
concepts in simple ways. They can vary the way
they teach to suit the way each student learns.
This takes patience, flexibility and the ability
to see things from the students’ perspective.
Yarra Valley Grammar’s team of teachers know
their material, love their subjects and love to
teach. They have a genuine interest in getting
to know their students, so they can teach them
effectively, encourage them to achieve their
best, identify issues or problems, and care for
their welfare. Our teachers are also role models
for our students, promoting the School’s core
values such as respect, concern and action for
others, and treating others as they wish to be
treated.
Outstanding VCE Results
In 2020, our VCE students have once again
achieved some excellent and well deserved
results including:
• Dux of the School – ATAR of 99.95
• Eleven perfect study scores of 50
• The median ATAR was 86.75
Three students from this cohort achieved the
highest award – The Top All-Round VCE High
Achiever Premier’s Award – which is awarded
to students who have achieved study scores of
46 or higher in at least five VCE studies. These
are three out of only twenty three students
who received this top honor and is the highest
number of any school in the state.
Emmaus College is proud to be a co-educational Catholic school,
and we strongly believe that co-education has clear benefits for the
contemporary society we live in. We firmly believe that this style of
education offers qualities to our students that will see them out into
the world and make a significant contribution towards society.
We are building new pathways for our creative students, with work
commencing on our new Creative Industries building. Demolition of
the school’s oldest building has made way for an ambitious project
which will provide a rich and inspiring learning environment for
music, media, technology and performance. In keeping with the rest
of the buildings at Emmaus, the new building will be an exceptional
learning environment that is safe and supportive in developing the
creative abilities of our students.
Our Jean Claude Learning Centre is a new development at our
Burwood campus, offering spacious and contemporary classrooms
for our enthusiastic staff and students at Year 9. Emmaus strives to
provide the very best learning environment, innovative buildings and
state of the art facilities for our college community. We have spacious
and well-maintained grounds, excellent sporting and performing arts
facilities, well-equiped classrooms and latest technologies that all
work together to enhance the curricular and co-curricular learning of
our students.

operates in the traditions of Don Bosco.
St Joseph’s College focuses on Academic
Excellence without losing sight of the
importance of values, justice, and the
development of life skills in the building of
successful and long lasting relationships. Our
motto, Agite Quae Didicistis, translated as put
our daily approach to a holistic education for
The learning methods include practical and
applied approaches. The diverse curriculum
ensure they advance to their highest potential.
Our teaching and learning outcomes are
focused on incorporating the latest technology
into the classroom environment to prepare our
students for a 21st century society.
Introducing the iPad in the first year of
the way as a leader. All Year 7- 9 students have
their own iPad and Year 10 - 12 students are
supplied with a MacBook.
The College will continue to provide students
with an iPad at Year 7 and a MacBook at Year
10. These devices will then be carried through
With quality digital HD cameras for both videos
and still photography we provide students with
the tools to learn and achieve outstanding
results.
The curriculum at St Joseph’s is tailored to meet
boys needs. Based on extensive research on
how a boy’s brain develops and changes over
time, an innovative and engaging curriculum
has been developed and strategically
implemented.
be personally known and recognised, yet
large enough to offer an extensive range of
opportunities that assist our students to grow
and develop into well-rounded young adults.
Our Learning and Wellbeing models, which
are visible throughout our School Community
and remind us daily of the key factors that are
essential when aspiring to provide a stimulating
and supportive learning environment both
inside and outside the classroom.
The curriculum at Balcombe Grammar School
is designed to support students’ development
into people who take increasing responsibility
for their own physical well-being, learning,
relationships with others and contribute to
their local, national and global community.
At Balcombe Grammar, we are committed
to providing a learning environment which
nurtures and challenges each student to
discover their potential, passion and purpose.
We are looking to build on our innovative
and community-focused initiatives which
play a pivotal role in assisting our students
to develop the fundamental skills necessary
to form strong connections and thrive in our
ever-changing world.
Woodleigh encourages students to be
WOODLEIGH SCHOOL
We see the development of academic
learning, personal wellbeing, and student
engagement as being interdependent. As a
result, we promote the development of student
outcomes across the essential elements of
learning: the understanding of concepts, the
acquisition of knowledge, the mastery of skills
and the ability to perform meaningful tasks in
real-world settings. We understand that such
deep learning happens best in safe, supportive
and respectful environments where students
can take risks, question their assumptions,
respond creatively, and explore new ways
of thinking. For this reason, our approach to
teaching is paced to students’ learning needs,
tailored to their learning preferences, and built
Leadership Opportunities
The development of leadership skills is one of the most important aspects of every student’s education. At Bacchus Marsh
Grammar we are driven by the belief in “Leading as Service”. That true leadership comes from a desire to serve and assist
others and the environments and settings in which they work and live. The service focused leader puts the needs of others
first and helps others achieve their goals and do their best.
We are proud of the range of opportunities at our School for students to develop and practise their leadership skills
through participating in activities and refining existing skills.
Our leadership programs start in the early years of Middle School and reinforced with a series of graded opportunities in
higher year levels.
Staughton Vale Program
Our purpose built and picturesque Staughton Vale Campus is just 20 minutes from our Maddingley Campus and on the
fringe of the Brisbane Ranges National Park. From Prep to Year 12, all students access the Staughton Vale Campus for
excursions and learning activities as part of their education journey.
Boasting more than 200 undulating acres of fertile pastures, orchards, dams and natural forest, Staughton Vale enhances
the learning experiences of all students. It also heightens the relationship and understanding of each student’s impact on
Authentic Experiential Learning
Creating authentic experiences for students
to build capacity to understand who they are
in their world, and others living in different
worlds, is a crucial part of Christian College’s
educational perspective – from Kindergarten
and Prep through to Year 12.
Our Bush Kinder and Bush Prep programs
provide access to spaces that allow children to
be immersed in sensory experiences in nature.
From Prep – Y4, we offer an excellent core
learning program and unparalleled specialty
areas taught by dedicated staff, including Music,
Japanese, Phys Ed, Library, Art and Digital
Technologies.
Our Languages program features specialist
language and native speakers teaching
Japanese from K - 12 and Indonesian from
Y5 - 12. Underpinning this are decades-long
relationships with sister schools – Naga High
School in Iwade, Japan (30 years) and SMA
Negeri 2 in Mataram, Lombok (25+ years).
There are short-term and long-term exchanges
in Indonesia and Japan, where students stay
with local families and live their daily routines.
Reciprocal visits are made by our sister schools
to Geelong.
Our Instrumental Music offerings at all
campuses, give students many opportunities to
develop and showcase their talents, solo and in
ensembles, in authentic performance settings –
locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
Many Christian College graduates have gone
on to enjoy highly successful music careers.
Another unique offering is the Year 9
Transformation Program, which includes half a
term living and working at the College’s Back
Creek Farm, a commercial dairy operation
near Ballarat. Here, students undertake a
variety of tasks essential for the running of the
farm. They also spend time in our Back Creek
Café in Meredith, living the ‘paddock to plate’
experience and learning a range of hospitalityrelated
skills.
Further immersive learning comes with the Our
Classroom-based learning harnesses student
partnerships that are forged between home
and the College are paramount to our success
as parents and educators. We seek to maximise
the teaching and learning opportunities for
each child through creating and maintaining
safe, happy environments where there is an
atmosphere conducive to learning. For this
reason we seek to encourage parents and
staff to pursue effective ways of building and
maintaining open lines of communication.
As a professional team of educators and
administrators we are here to serve in an
environment in which teachers have the
opportunity to teach and students have the
right to learn. Our core values are synonymous
with those of the wonderful families who have
chosen to send their children to Geelong
Baptist. As a community our commitment
to the holistic development of each child;
Academically, Physically, Emotionally and
Spiritually is very important.
Geelong Baptist College is a growing
community in excess of 300 students across
the Primary and Secondary campuses.
We encourage all to see our educational
community as “Two Schools yet One College” -
a College where our students can journey from
Foundation right through to their graduation
at the completion of Year Twelve. The benefit
of an extended and personal journey of this
nature cannot be underestimated. We are
acutely aware that decisions about your child’s
education are difficult to make yet are amongst
the most important decisions you will make as
a parent.
We invite you to visit us to consider embarking
on the journey towards your child’s future
together with us.
M a cKillop
celebrating all life • challenging all people • dreaming the new day
MacKillop College believes in the importance of offering a wide
variety of different disciplines of learning. Whether a student
has an affinity for academia, politics, social matters, religion,
leadership, sport, performance, music, hospitality, etc.
MacKillop College strives to give our students the tools they
need to pursue their interests and build their experiences. We
support the whole person according to what will most benefit
them in their individual journey.
MacKillop also provides students with opportunities to
explore, discuss and address current political and social
issues that are highly relevant on a global level, looking at
justice, harmony and unity, the environment, and social
change. Students are provided with guidance to become
advocates for transformation in our world. This is evidenced
by the student-run extracurricular groups, which include
EcoMacK (aiming to implement sustainability strategies
on campus as well as within the community), the debating
team, MacKillop College Zoo Crew (giving students hands-on
experience in animal husbandry), and HarMacK (Harmony at
MacKillop, which focuses on cultural diversity and inclusivity).
A further example in how the College embraces diversity can
be seen in our International Program, reaching into Europe
and Asia with international trips, homestay opportunities and
immersion programs. It is also in service to this that we bring
those cultures closer to home for those who are not able to
travel internationally. In combination with Languages Week,
Harmony Week, Music Week, etc., diversity is celebrated.
At the time of writing this, we have overcome another season
of lockdowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been a
humbling reminder of the resilience and adaptability required
when working together towards a greater good.
MacKillop is a Catholic College in the Josephite tradition,
inspired by the spirit of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, and
during this time, the words of wisdom offered by our patron
saint, words of strength in unity, and hope in the face of
adversity, helped to strengthen our resolve to survive and
thrive. On the cusp of a new normal, MacKillop College has
been, and will continue to be, resilient and adaptable.
RED ROCK CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
MELBOURNE WEST & GEELONG
At Red Rock, our vision is to support and
empower students to influence their
world with integrity. This begins from the
day our students join us and continues
right through their schooling.
In the early years we provide them with a
safe, nurturing environment that teaches
them to explore, ask questions, think
deeply, to respect others and to be just
and compassionate. As they progress
into the Middle Years students will be
taught to combine independence with
interdependent learning. They will be
inspired and equipped as 21st century
learners by staff that are dedicated to
their growth and well-being.
Educating our students during this pandemic has proven the benefits
of the integrated approach of Faith, Wellbeing and Learning at Red
Rock Christian College. Staff and students alike are in the midst a great
challenge. Yet, we see them rising to the challenge – embracing online
learning, applying wellbeing strategies, and championing each other.
At RRCC, our belief that young people from Prep-Year 12 are fearfully and
wonderfully made is at the heart of what we do. It motivates us to seek
ways to see all young people flourish. Our strengths-based wellbeing
approach enables us to focus on what is ‘right’ with people, to empower
young people to embrace their strengths, build a strong positive identity
and establish healthy relationships.
We empower students to own their learning, pursue their passions and
influence their world with integrity by demonstrating and teaching healthy
mindsets, strength-based language, wellbeing strategies and skills in
maintaining positive relationships. Our Head of Wellbeing ensures staff are
well trained in Visible Wellbeing and Restorative Practice.
In Prep-Year 6, we establish the foundations for building a life of learning,
thinking intelligently, and for developing character. A child’s experiences
and their environment in the early years are highly influential in the
way they see themselves and others. During these years, we focus on
developing a healthy identity, resilience of character and the ability to
value others and to interact positively with peers and teachers. We know
our children will thrive in and not just survive their years of school with a
rock-solid foundation.
The Secondary years at RRCC is a place to build on this foundation – to
coach and walk alongside our teens as they become more independent
in their thinking, as they explore and form opinions about the world
and their place in the world. As a Christian school, we help our students
understand God’s loving view of the world and its people and to recognise
the unique ways in which they can bring life, justice and hope to the world.
The Secondary years are about honouring and supporting the capacity of
our young people to manage and choose their education increasingly. It is
about equipping them with character, skills and understandings that will
prepare them to influence their world with integrity.
