Timeka Marie Vereen

I’M FREE
Don’t grieve for me for now I’m free,
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call:
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way;
I found my place at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joys.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things I too shall miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow:
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savoured much;
Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.
Perhaps my life seemed all too brief:
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me;
God wanted me now, He set me free.

A Life’s Journey
A Legacy of Character, Strength, and Faith...
Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.”
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise
her in the gates.
–Proverbs 31:28-31
Timeka Marie Vereen
Footprints made may be washed away from the shores of life. The waves of time are never yielding. When lived to the fullest however,
one life can leave a path to guide all who remember, love, cherish and follow. Beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and auntie, there
are not enough words to describe Timeka Marie Vereen. Neither is there a way to express her impact on those who mourn her now.
Timeka Marie Vereen, 40, born 1 January 1981, passed away on 31 October 2021 at 6:20am in Maryland. Born in Rockledge, Florida
to Timothy Lucas and Aretha Marie Adams (deceased, November 10, 2021), Timeka was an exuberant and out-going child who
excelled at just about every task she set to her mind. Timeka was an exceptional student at Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, and
graduated Summa Cum Laude from Valencia Community College with an associate degree in Accounting and later a Bachelor of
Science in Accounting from the School of Business & Industry at Florida A&M University (FAMU). Timeka was a scholarship athlete
as a swimmer while attending FAMU. She held several management roles in the accounting and finance industry. Timeka brought the
strength of a lioness to life’s challenges, and there was nothing that brought out the fierceness more than her role as wife and mother
to her Pride, her family.
Beautiful, intelligent and absolutely outspoken, Timeka remained the life-long love, friend and partner to Danny Vereen, Jr. The
two became high school sweethearts on February 15, 1999, the day after Valentines. Married on May 6, 2006, they shared 22 years
together. Timeka and Danny would welcome three children into their Pride. To say that Dana Marie Vereen, 11, Danny Vereen III, 9,
and Danielle Mackenzie Vereen, 5, are her world would be a true understatement. The “Queen goddess mother of my three children,’’
as she would remind Danny on occasion, was the heavenly body their children orbited. Wherever she was present was where the
family wanted to be. Now, her star has returned to the heavens.
Timeka will be remembered for her smile, laughter, courageousness, love, motherhood, hugs, commitment to family and community.
She was loyal. She had a magnetic personality that could light up any room. Her vibrations were special and unique. “My baby,” “Baby,”
“Mommy,” “Meka,” “Torch,” “Meka-Mikie,” all endearing nicknames she collected throughout her journey as she made her imprint.
A believer in conscious manifestation, Timeka recently founded Invictus Synergy, LLC, and poured into it the same clear intention
and unflappable belief that made her a successful mother, wife, daughter, graduate and professional. Timeka also brought the same
level of commitment to her other roles in life. A member of the Church of Christ, she was always active in the communities in which
she lived. Timeka was an assistant coordinator for the Orlando, Florida chapter of the African American Chamber of Commerce
as a young woman, where she worked with her father. She also served as treasurer and later president of the Caribbean Student
Association at Valencia Community College. She was recognized as Who’s Who Among American Junior Colleges during her time
at VCC. She held a black belt in Tae-Kwon do and Shotokan Karate and she also enjoyed roller skating.
Timeka was predeceased by her father, Timothy Lucas Adams and her brother, Victor Rhyan Adams.
Timeka is also survived by husband, Danny Vereen, Jr., children, Dana Marie Vereen, Danny Vereen III, and Danielle Mackenzie
Vereen, nieces, Kennidi B Adams, Lila Vereen, and Chrisette Vereen, as well as many other family and friends.

Two people are better than one. They get more done by working together. If one person falls, the
other can help him up. But it is bad for the person who is alone when he falls. No one is there to
help him. If two lie down together, they will be warm. But a person alone will not be warm. An
enemy might defeat one person, but two people together can defend themselves. A rope that has
three parts wrapped together is hard to break.
