Preface by Professor Mohammad Hashim Kamali that is found to exist between Islam and Buddhism elicits recognition and respect of one another on both sides, something so acutely needed at a time when the talk of ‘clash of civilizations’ has become an unwelcome distraction from the Qur’ānic vision of recognition and friendship (ta‘āruf – Q.49:13) between the Muslims and other world communities and nations.
