Garbage Collection<br />

The Garbage and Recycling Collection Calendar<br />

can be found on our website at kaslo.ca under the<br />

Services tab. Bag tags are required for curbside<br />

collection of all garbage bags or containers. Tags<br />

are sold in sheets of 10. You can purchase them<br />

at City Hall, Kaslo Husky or contact our office to<br />

arrange payment and receive them by mail.<br />

2022 Budget<br />

In accordance with section 166 of the<br />

Community Charter, the Council of the Village<br />

of Kaslo invites public consultation in the<br />

preparation of the Village’s 2022 Five Year<br />

Financial Plan. Council welcomes public input<br />

from residents of the Village regarding items they<br />

would like to see addressed in the budget.<br />

Dog Licences<br />

Dog owners in the Village of Kaslo are reminded<br />

that all dogs residing in the Village of Kaslo are<br />

required to have a current dog licence.<br />

Dog licences are available from the Village Office.<br />

Business Licences<br />

Business owners are reminded that a current Business Licence is<br />

required for all commercial undertakings of any kind within the<br />

Village of Kaslo, including home-based businesses, professional,<br />

personal, or other services for the purpose of gain or profit.<br />

RDCK Building Inspector<br />

The last day to meet with the RDCK Building Inspector in 2021, will be<br />

Tuesday, <strong>Dec</strong>ember 14th at 10 am. For any building permit inquiries<br />

Funding of $7.6 million has been secured to expand<br />

Columbia<br />

Basin Trust’s<br />

regional fibre<br />

optic network<br />

and<br />

Wasa. Permitting<br />

and other<br />

pre-construction<br />

work on the projects will<br />

Basin Trust president and chief executive<br />

officer, “Developing a fibre optic<br />

network between communities is the<br />

first step of many required to improve<br />

connectivity for rural households in<br />

another ten Basin communities.”<br />

The projects will see 70 km of<br />

backbone fibre optic cable installed<br />

between Fruitvale and Nelson, benefiting<br />

the communities of Erie, Hall,<br />

Meadows, Montrose, Park Siding,<br />

Porto Rico, Salmo and Ymir; and<br />

30 km of backbone fibre optic cable<br />

between Kimberley and Wasa, benefiting<br />

the communities of Meadowbrook<br />

and Ta Ta Creek.<br />

The BCSPCA is working to keep families together by<br />

providing those stranded or evacuees with food, crates<br />

and other pet supplies as needed. We are also providing<br />

Emergency Boarding in Kamloops, the Lower Mainland and<br />

Cowichan for evacuated animals.<br />

In the event where generous donations exceed total costs<br />

then any additional raised will help fund other emergency<br />

animal rescue and care, and disaster preparedness.<br />
