There are a lot of events and services coming to your St. Charles
Parish Library in 2022! Here is a preview of just some of them:
10 to Try Beanstack Challenge (January 1 - December 31)
Keep track of your reading, try different genres, and explore
new library resources! You’ll win a collectible brag tag once you
complete 10 books or activities. Sign up at myscpl.beanstack.com.
German Coast Farmers’ Market
Visit the Farmers’ Market at the East Regional Library in Destrehan
every Saturday from 8am to noon and then stop into the library
after we open at 9am to stock up on books, DVDs, and more.
Evening Yoga
Sara Lyon will resume evening yoga classes at the East Regional
Library in Destrehan every Tuesday evening at 6pm. Register to
reserve your spot. Thank you to the United Way of St. Charles and
Creative Family Solutions for sponsoring this event.
Art for Adults
Join artist Becca Hillburn as she teaches the fundamentals of
drawing in a class just for adults! The three-part series begins in
January at the Paradis Branch. Registration is required.

Join professional artist Becca Hillburn as she
teaches the fundamentals of drawing!
This three-part series will establish skills each
month, beginning with basic 3D geometric
shapes and building up to drawing still life.
This program is designed for any ability level
as we will be learning the foundational skills
every artist needs.

membership meeting and hold the election of officers.

There will be refreshments, door prizes, books, and more
while meeting and greeting each other.
Current and potential members are welcome to attend the

What Have the Friends of the St. Charles Library
Been Up To?
In the last six months of 2021, despite Covid concerns and
Hurricane Ida, the Friends of the St. Charles Library:
• Sponsored a successful book sale at the East Regional
Library
• Provided funding for a bench for the Norco Branch
• Provided $1,500 for Summer Reading Program prizes
• Sponsored a snowball truck and distributed sidewalk
chalk and books during the End-Of-Summer Concert
• Distributed goodies for library patrons during National
Friends of Library Week
Mosaic Coaster R
• Participated in the Halloween Trunk Or Treat
Come in and make a unique mosaic coaster for your kitchen
or patio table! This mesmerizing craft will brighten any
surface.
• Met with library administrators to discuss Friends of the
Library involvement

This rolling Family Center goes to parents and children in St.
Charles Parish. Come join the fun as they provide a playgroup
with toys, books, games, and more. The Learn With Us Bus
is a service from the St Charles Parish Public Schools Family
Centers to provide their excellent resources to the community
on the go.
Adults must wear masks on the Learn With Us Bus.
