THE GRENADINES VIA VESSEL<br />

AIM: The safe entry of vessels into St. Vincent and the Grenadines in a manner that reduces the risk<br />

of the importation and subsequent transmission of COVID-19 in St. Vincent and the Grenadine s.<br />

OBJECTIVES:<br />

1. To establish the risk of arriving vessels and passengers introducing new COVID-19 to SVG;<br />

2. To minimize the exposure of residents of SVG to newCOVID-19;<br />

3. Early identification of potential exposure to new COVID-19, and<br />

4. Early containment of new COVID-19.<br />

PROCEDURE PRE-ARRIVAL:<br />

1. The POE's currently accessible are Blue Lagoon, Wallilabou, <strong>Bequia</strong>, Union,<br />

Canouan and Port Kingstown.<br />

2. The Approved Quarantine Areas for mooring on arrival are at a) Young Island Cut,<br />

St Vincent, b) North Admiralty Bay, <strong>Bequia</strong>, c) Clifton, Union Island and d)<br />

Canouan Marina.<br />

ENTERING BY YACHT<br />

3. All arriving yachts must request permission for entry at least five (5) days in advance,<br />

by e-mail to SVG Arrivals at svgarrivals@gmail.com, and submit a Request for Entry<br />

and Quarantine Form and vaccine certificates which will be validated pre arrival.<br />

4. At least 24 hours before arrival, send a) pre - entry negative PCR test results, b)<br />

completed Sail Clear (www.sailclear.com) document and c) estimated time of arrival to<br />

svgarrivals@gmail.com.<br />

5. Complete a Pre-Arrival Form https://stv.servicedx.com/travelform for each passenger.<br />

ONE (1) DEATH<br />

THREE (3) OMICRON CASES<br />

Ninety-one (91) new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from three hundred and seventyseven<br />

(377) samples collected on Thursday <strong>January</strong> 6 th , <strong>2022</strong>, resulting in a positivity of 24.1%.<br />

Eighty-four (84) new rapid antigen positive results were reported from flu clinics on <strong>January</strong> 6 th ,<br />

<strong>2022</strong>.<br />

Sixty-one (61) new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from three hundred and forty-four<br />

(344) samples collected on Friday <strong>January</strong> 7 th , <strong>2022</strong>, resulting in a positivity of 17.7%. Eighty-<br />

Eight (88) new rapid antigen positive results were reported from flu clinics on <strong>January</strong> 7 th , <strong>2022</strong>.<br />

Forty-eight (48) new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from two hundred and forty-five<br />

(245) samples collected on Saturday 8 th , <strong>2022</strong>, resulting in a positivity of 19.6%. Thirty-nine (39)<br />

new rapid antigen positive results were reported from the flu clinics on <strong>January</strong> 8 th , <strong>2022</strong>.<br />

No new COVID-19 cases were reported from nine (9) samples collected Sunday <strong>January</strong> 9 th , <strong>2022</strong>.<br />

Twenty-two (22) new rapid antigen positive results were reported from flu clinics on <strong>January</strong> 9 th ,<br />

<strong>2022</strong>.<br />

Fifteen (15) new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from forty-seven (47) samples collected<br />

on Monday <strong>January</strong> 10 th , <strong>2022</strong>, resulting in a positivity of 31.9%. One hundred and eleven (111)<br />

new rapid antigen positive results were reported from the flu clinics on <strong>January</strong> 10 th , <strong>2022</strong>.<br />

OMICRON CASES<br />

Sequencing results received from CARPHA on <strong>January</strong> 10, <strong>2022</strong> and <strong>January</strong> 11, <strong>2022</strong>, confirmed<br />

the presence of the Omicron variant of concern in two (2) samples taken on December 27, 2021<br />

and one (1) sample taken on December 28, 2021 from persons with no travel history.<br />

HOSPITAL ADMISSIONS<br />

There are currently no patients admitted for COVID-19 at the Argyle Isolation Facility. Seventeen<br />

(17) patients are admitted to the COVID-19 ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, six (6) of<br />

whom are vaccinated, eleven (11) patients are unvaccinated.<br />

COVID-19 DEATHS<br />

One (1) new death was recorded over the reporting period. A 68-year-old female, with pre-existing<br />

conditions, died at home on <strong>January</strong> 10 th , <strong>2022</strong> after a respiratory illness with features typical of<br />

COVID-19. A postmortem test for COVID-19 was positive confirming that the cause of death was<br />

a COVID-19 pneumonia. She was fully vaccinated. Her death brings the death toll from COVID-<br />

19 to eighty-five (85).<br />

COVID-19 SUMMARY<br />

Thirty-six (36) recoveries were noted over the reporting period. Nine hundred and fourteen (914)<br />

cases are currently active and eighty-five (85) persons with COVID-19 have died. Six thousand<br />

five hundred and sixty-two (6562) cases of COVID-19 and five thousand and five hundred and<br />

sixty-three (5563) recoveries have been recorded in St. Vincent and the Grenadines since March<br />

2020.<br />

In view of the confirmed presence of the Delta, Mu, Gamma, and Omicron variants in the<br />

community and the significant increase in the number of new infections, transmission, severe<br />

COVID-19 disease and deaths, strict enforcement and compliance with all protocols and<br />

recommendations by everyone is strongly recommended. The public is reminded to always wear<br />

ONE HUNDRED (100) NEW CASES, ONE (1) DEATH<br />

One hundred (100) new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from three hundred and forty<br />

(340) samples collected on Wednesday <strong>January</strong> 5 th , <strong>2022</strong>, resulting in a positivity of 29.4%.<br />

Eighty-seven (87) new rapid antigen positive results were reported from flu clinics on <strong>January</strong> 5 th ,<br />

<strong>2022</strong>.<br />

HOSPITAL ADMISSIONS<br />

There are currently no patients admitted for COVID-19 at the Argyle Isolation Facility. Sixteen<br />

(16) patients are admitted to the COVID-19 ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, two (2)<br />

of whom are fully vaccinated and fourteen (14) patients are unvaccinated.<br />

COVID-19 DEATHS<br />

One (1) new death was recorded over the reporting period. A 67-year-old female who presented to<br />

the Accident and Emergency Department on <strong>January</strong> 5 th , <strong>2022</strong>, after a one-week illness, died of<br />

COVID-19 pneumonia on <strong>January</strong> 6 th , <strong>2022</strong>. The patient, who, tested positive on admission had<br />

preexisting non-communicable diseases. She was fully vaccinated during the period April to July,<br />

2021. Her death brings the death toll from COVID-19 to eighty-four (84).<br />

COVID-19 SUMMARY<br />

One hundred and six (106) recoveries were noted over the reporting period. Seven hundred and<br />

thirty-six (736) cases are currently active and eighty-four (84) persons with COVID-19 have died.<br />

Six thousand three hundred and forty-seven (6347) cases of COVID-19 and five thousand and five<br />

hundred and twenty-seven (5527) recoveries have been recorded in St. Vincent and the Grenadines<br />

since March 2020.<br />

TWO HUNDRED AND EIGHT (208) NEW CASES<br />

One hundred and seventeen (117) new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from four hundred<br />

and sixteen (416) samples collected on Monday <strong>January</strong> 3 rd , <strong>2022</strong>, resulting in a positivity of<br />

28.1%. Ninety-nine (99) new rapid antigen positive results were reported from flu clinics on<br />

<strong>January</strong> 3 rd , <strong>2022</strong>.<br />

Ninety-one (91) new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from three hundred and sixty-three<br />

(363) samples collected on Tuesday <strong>January</strong> 4 th , <strong>2022</strong>, resulting in a positivity of 25.1%. Sixtyfour<br />

(64) new rapid antigen positive results were reported from flu clinics on <strong>January</strong> 4 th , <strong>2022</strong>.<br />

HOSPITAL ADMISSIONS<br />

There are currently no patients admitted for COVID-19 at the Argyle Isolation Facility. Sixteen<br />

(743) cases are currently active and eighty-three (83) persons with COVID-19 have died. Six<br />

thousand two hundred and forty-seven (6247) cases of COVID-19 and five thousand and four<br />

hundred and twenty-one (5421) recoveries have been recorded in St. Vincent and the Grenadines<br />

since March 2020.<br />

FULLY VACCINATED DEATH<br />

St. Vincent and the Grenadines has recorded its first fully-vaccinated COVID-19 death. A 67-yearold<br />

Twenty-one (21) new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from one hundred and ninety<br />

(190) samples collected on Tuesday December 28 th , 2021, resulting in a positivity of 11.1%.<br />

Twenty-two (22) new rapid antigen positive results were reported from flu clinics on December<br />

28 th , 2021.<br />

Thirty-six (36) new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from one hundred and thirty-nine<br />

(139) samples collected on Wednesday December 29 th , 2021, resulting in a positivity of 25.9%.<br />

Sixteen (16) new rapid antigen positive results were reported from flu clinics on December 29 th ,<br />

COVID-19 DEATHS<br />

Two (2) new deaths were recorded over the reporting period. A 71-year-old female tested<br />

positive for COVID-19 on December 25 th , 2021, she was admitted to the isolation ward at the<br />

Milton Cato Memorial Hospital and died on the 28 th of December of COVID-19 pneumonia.<br />

A 75-year-old male, tested positive for COVID-19 on December 28 th , 2021, was found dead at<br />

home on 29 th December 2021 of COVID-19 pneumonia.<br />

Both patients were unvaccinated. Their deaths bring the death toll from COVID-19 to eight-three<br />

TWELVE (12) NEW CASES<br />

Twelve (12) new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from one hundred and two (102)<br />

samples collected on Thursday December 23 rd , 2021, resulting in a positivity of 11.8%. Two (2)<br />

new rapid antigen positive results were reported from flu clinics on December 23 rd , 2021.<br />

HOSPITAL ADMISSIONS<br />

There are currently no patients admitted for COVID-19 at the Argyle Isolation Facility. Eight (8)<br />

patients are admitted to the COVID-19 ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, all of whom<br />

are unvaccinated.<br />

COVID-19 DEATHS<br />

No new deaths were recorded over the reporting period.<br />

COVID-19 SUMMARY<br />

Thirty-four (34) recoveries were noted over the reporting period. Five hundred and seventy-four<br />

(574) cases are currently active and eighty-one (81) persons with COVID-19 have died. Five<br />

thousand eight hundred and forty (5840) cases of COVID-19 and five thousand and one hundred<br />

and eighty-five (5185) recoveries have been recorded in St. Vincent and the Grenadines since<br />

March 2020.<br />

In view of the confirmed presence of the Delta, Mu and Gamma variants in the community and<br />

the significant increase in the number of new infections, transmission, severe COVID-19 disease<br />

and deaths, strict enforcement and compliance with all protocols and recommendations by<br />

everyone is strongly recommended. The correct and consistent use of masks, avoidance of<br />

crowds, physical distancing, proper hand sanitizing and immunization with available vaccines<br />

EIGHTEEN (18) NEW CASES<br />

TWO (2) DEATHS<br />

Eleven (11) new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from one hundred and forty-six (146)<br />

samples collected on Tuesday December 21 st , 2021, resulting in a positivity of 7.5%. Twentythree<br />

(23) new rapid antigen positive results were reported from flu clinics on December 21 st ,<br />

2021.<br />

Seven (7) new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from forty-nine (49) samples collected<br />

on Wednesday December 22 nd , 2021, resulting in a positivity of 14.3%. Twenty (20) new rapid<br />

antigen results were reported from flu clinics on December 22 nd , 2021.<br />

HOSPITAL ADMISSIONS<br />

There is currently one (1) patient admitted for COVID-19 at the Argyle Isolation Facility. The<br />

patient is unvaccinated. Nine (9) patients are admitted to the COVID-19 ward at the Milton Cato<br />

Memorial Hospital. All are unvaccinated.<br />

COVID-19 DEATHS<br />

Two (2) new deaths were recorded over the reporting period. A 71-year-old male, died at home<br />

after a respiratory illness and tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday 21 st December 2021 as<br />

part of the postmortem assessment. This patient was determined to have died from a COVID<br />

pneumonia.<br />

A 26-year-old male with underlying conditions, tested positive for COVID-19 on December 14 th ,<br />

2021, was admitted to the isolation ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital and died on the<br />

22 nd December 2021 of COVID-19 pneumonia.<br />

Both patients were unvaccinated. Their deaths bring the death toll from COVID-19 to eight-one<br />

COVID-19 SUMMARY<br />

Fourteen (14) recoveries were noted over the reporting period. Five hundred and ninety-six (596)<br />

cases are currently active and eighty-one (81) persons with COVID-19 have died. Five thousand<br />

eight hundred and twenty-eight (5828) cases of COVID-19 and five thousand and one hundred<br />

and fifty-one (5151) recoveries have been recorded in St. Vincent and the Grenadines since<br />

An 80-year-old male with no underlying conditions, tested positive for COVID-19 on December<br />

18 th , 2021, was admitted to the isolation ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital and died later<br />

that day of COVID-19 pneumonia.<br />

Both patients were unvaccinated. Their deaths bring the death toll from COVID-19 to seventynine<br />

(79).<br />

FORTY-FOUR (44) NEW CASES<br />

TWO (2) DEATHS<br />

Eighteen (18) new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from one hundred and ninety (190)<br />

samples collected on Wednesday December 1 st , 2021, resulting in a positivity of 9.5%. Seventeen<br />

(17) new rapid antigen positive results were reported from flu clinics on December 1 st , 2021.<br />

Twenty-six (26) new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from one hundred and seventy (170)<br />

samples collected on Thursday December 2 nd , 2021, resulting in a positivity of 15.2%. Nineteen<br />

(19) new rapid antigen positive results were reported from flu clinics on December 2 nd , 2021.<br />

HOSPITAL ADMISSIONS<br />

positive for COVID-19 on November 20 th , 2021, died on December 4 th , 2021. A 69-year-old male<br />

who tested positive for COVID-19 on December 4 th , 2021, died on December 5 th , 2021. Both<br />

patients were admitted to the COVID-19 isolation ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.<br />

The patients had known underlying conditions and were unvaccinated. Their deaths bring the death<br />

toll from COVID-19 to seventy-six (76).<br />

(145) samples collected on Tuesday November 30 th , 2021, resulting in a positivity of 11.7%.<br />

Sixteen (16) new rapid antigen positive results were reported from flu clinics on November 30 th ,<br />

2021.<br />
