January 11, 2022

My Dear Sisters and Brothers,

I want to give you a brief update about my current

health challenges. Many of you know that

I’ve been battling a severe headache and fatigue

since the 9th of December. That landed me in the

hospital for a week which ended in a procedure

to close what was thought to be a spinal fluid leak

in my lower back. Unfortunately, that procedure

either has not sealed the leak or that was not the

cause of the issues in the first place. The headache

and fatigue remain. As I write these words, I am

anticipating a face-to-face appointment with my

neurologist on Friday January 14th which I pray will

provide the pathway to restoration of health. My

hope is to preach again the weekend of January

22/23rd.

Finally, I give God great thanks for YOU. The

prayers you have lifted and continue to lift on mine

and Betsy’s behalf are life giving and life sustaining

for us. I said to our staff this week that you forget

just how special and important something is to

you until you’re disconnected from it for a while.

I have felt that friends, in these weeks away from

you. Please continue to pray for health to return, in

God’s perfect way and time, and as always…

Keep Lookin’ Up!

Pastor David

I give God great thanks for our staff and leaders

who continue to serve with faithfulness and passion

and dedication. Braden and Alex from the pulpit,

Ann as Exec. Director, Cindy and Carmen and Sophie

keeping the communication thing happening

as well as it can, everybody just doing what they

do day by day as the Holy Spirit leads them – I am

SO blessed by this group of people that the Lord

has brought me alongside of for a time. I am such

a deeper disciple of Jesus because they are in my

life.

I also give God great thanks for a deeply compassionate

District Superintendent and Staff Parish

Relations Team who have been gracious and

understanding as I have had to be away from my

responsibilities during these weeks. Eric Park, Henry

McNutt and now Nora McDonald lead with such

great integrity. Their graciousness in allowing me to

use extended vacation time for all of this has been

a wonderful blessing.
