KING'S SUPER LEARNING
YEAR 9
Our Y9 students took part in a 'Self Awareness and Risky Behaviour'
workshop. A key focus was about understanding the impact of peer
pressure, the dangers of drugs- both legal and illegal- and the perils of
alcohol. King's were pleased to host a guest speaker from the Drugs and
Alcohol Education Service, who updated students on local issues with drugs
and alcohol and where to go to for support in Warrington.
Students can also access our superb
'Your Place' for support on anything
that troubles them.
YEAR 10
Y10 enjoyed a workshop led by Floyd
Woodrow. His Compass For Life
framework provides a formula that
empowers students to take
responsibility for their learning and
ambitions, in partnership with teachers.
Students listened to Floyd, who has
received an MBE, was the youngest
soldier to be selected for the SAS and is
a renowned speaker. He encouraged
students to strategically plan
aspirational flight paths and decide the
qualifications, skills and character traits
they needed to succeed!
YEAR 11
Y11 enjoyed a trip to the
bowling centre as a reward
for their outstanding self
awareness and endeavour
in their December Mock
examinations.
Students took to their
bowling alleys and battled
for top spot in their teams.
The staff too were very
competitive!
