As per EU Directives, pr<strong>of</strong>essionals wishing to provide Investment<br />
Services and employed by Cypriot Investment Firms, Credit<br />
Institutions, Management Companies, and Investment Companies <strong>of</strong><br />
Variable Capital, is compulsory to acquire a Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Competence<br />
Certificate that reflects the ability to carry out such activities. <strong>The</strong>se<br />
certifications are <strong>of</strong>fered by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange<br />
Commission (CySEC) and can be obtained through the exams: a) Basic<br />
Financial Services Legal Framework Examination and b) Advanced<br />
Financial Services Legal Framework Examination. This course is<br />
preparing participants to attend the Advanced Level CySEC exam. Aim<br />
<strong>of</strong> the exam is to ensure that candidates can apply an appropriate level<br />
<strong>of</strong> knowledge and understanding <strong>of</strong> the financial services regulatory<br />
framework that will assist them in the performance <strong>of</strong> their duties.<br />
Successful candidates will be certified and eligible to perform all the<br />
investment services/activities <strong>of</strong> paragraph 4 <strong>of</strong> the Directive. <strong>The</strong><br />
CySEC Advanced Examination is addressed to individuals who wish to<br />

Konstantinos Michaelides currently leads the Compliance Function <strong>of</strong> Flashpoint Venture Capital. In the past,<br />
Konstantinos worked with Arthur Andersen and BDO in Audit Departments and held a number <strong>of</strong> Finance and Accounting<br />
Head in multinational and listed organizations like Coca Cola Hellenic and P&G. He has extensive experience in<br />
streamlining Finance functions, reorganizations, and debt restructuring. Konstantinos has demonstrated unique<br />

Credit Institutions, Management Companies, and Investment Companies <strong>of</strong> Variable Capital, is required to undergo<br />
through Continuous Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Development courses as to be updated on new Directives and Regulations. AML is<br />
considered as one <strong>of</strong> the most important topics and it is one <strong>of</strong> the riskiest areas in a Financial Institution.<br />

time to customers in Financial Services, FTSE London and MSCI. In 2016, she played a key role in migrating to the new<br />
generation Salesforce s<strong>of</strong>tware solution, Service Cloud, and continued her journey with several projects in Data Quality<br />
Management with BlackRock, MSCI and HSBC. In 2017, Elisabeth refocused and empowered frontline teams in different<br />
locations to shift from a Service to an Experience mindset and eventually launched the first Experience Pulse project<br />
within Content Customer Operations team globally, leading and improving Net Promoter Survey (NPS) scores with key<br />
clients such as STOXX, MSCI, FTSE/LSE, JPMorgan, and others. As an advocate for great Customer Experience in Cyprus,<br />
Elisabeth continues her journey as a corporate trainer <strong>of</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>essional development courses. She recently joined the<br />

Fraud is a global problem affecting economies, businesses, and individuals. A serious threat to any company<br />
independent <strong>of</strong> sector and size – and it is on the rise globally and nationally. It is estimated that a typical<br />
organization loses 5% <strong>of</strong> its annual revenue because <strong>of</strong> fraud. Consequently, all organizations, irrespective <strong>of</strong> their<br />
business sector, are nowadays more susceptible to fraudulent acts and there is an increased need for enhancing<br />
fraud awareness in organizations. <strong>The</strong> course explores the types <strong>of</strong> fraudulent financial transactions incurred in<br />
accounting records and helps gain a deeper understanding <strong>of</strong> the following concepts: basic accounting and auditing<br />
theory, fraud schemes, internal controls to deter fraud, and other auditing and accounting matters. This course is<br />
a supplemental study tool for the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) Exam Prep course. <strong>The</strong> Certified Fraud Examiner<br />

organizations face increased financial challenges due to the negative consequences <strong>of</strong> the Covid-19 pandemic. Fraud<br />
cases are rapidly increasing, and corporate accounting scandals become public everyday like Toshiba, Tesco, Luckin<br />
C<strong>of</strong>fee.<br />
Building a good reputation is <strong>of</strong> great value but sustaining it is <strong>of</strong> greater value; this is specifically true<br />
<strong>of</strong> the accountancy and audit pr<strong>of</strong>ession, which lives <strong>of</strong>f its credibility. Distrust has recently become a major issue<br />
in the accounting pr<strong>of</strong>ession especially with the public backlash <strong>of</strong> the collapse <strong>of</strong> Enron (U.S) one <strong>of</strong> the<br />
world’s leading energy, natural gas, communication giants with a claimed revenue <strong>of</strong> nearly US$ 101Billion in the<br />
year 2000, but suddenly collapsed in 2001 which brought distrust, uncertainty to the business world and lack <strong>of</strong><br />
confidence in the financial reports <strong>of</strong> companies.<br />

Andrie studied Marketing and Business Management in London where she also acquired the Advanced Certificate from the<br />
Chartered Institute <strong>of</strong> Marketing London. She was in charge <strong>of</strong> marketing and communications at EY Cyprus. At the same<br />
time, she graduated with Distinction from London and was awarded a master’s degree in Strategic Marketing. In 2008, she<br />
founded Penta Marketing Art, which provided marketing and public relations solutions for private and public companies.<br />
In 2010, she founded the Cyprus Image Institute after obtaining the title <strong>of</strong> Certified Image Maker (with attendance in<br />
London) and joined as an associate member <strong>of</strong> the Association <strong>of</strong> Image Consultants International. At 27, Andrie was the<br />
youngest nominated Ambassador for Female Entrepreneurship for Europe, serving since then as a business advisor and<br />
mentor. In 2013, Andrie was designated as the Goodwill Ambassador <strong>of</strong> the Hope in Life Foundation and a Cypriot Woman<br />
<strong>of</strong> the Year (2013) finalist. She enjoys regular and extensive publicity in local print, online and television programs, and<br />
have been interviewed for various publications in the US, Denmark, Holland, and Greece. She was a Senior Manager at the<br />
Markets department <strong>of</strong> KPMG in Cyprus, and she currently holds the role <strong>of</strong> the Organizational Leader <strong>of</strong> the Ronald<br />
McDonald House Charities <strong>of</strong> Cyprus. Andrie is a Certified trainer by the Human Resource Development Authority <strong>of</strong> Cyprus<br />

Compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering legislation and regulations have become critical for various sectors <strong>of</strong><br />

Elena is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) with a BA (Hons) in Business Administration and an MSc in Monetary<br />
and Financial Economics. She has worked for a decade in the pr<strong>of</strong>ession, initially as an auditor <strong>of</strong> investment holding<br />
companies and financial institutions at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Later, she worked from the position <strong>of</strong> a<br />
manager in the Corporate Compliance Department <strong>of</strong> Abacus Ltd and PwC. During her involvement in the audit and<br />
corporate compliance sector, Elena was responsible for a large portfolio <strong>of</strong> clients and had hands on experience on<br />
compliance with the Anti – Money Laundering (AML) legislation <strong>of</strong> the portfolio she was managing. She has a thorough<br />
knowledge and understanding <strong>of</strong> the legislation and the ICPAC requirements regarding AML Compliance.<br />
In 2016, she joined on a full-time basis the <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essional <strong>Studies</strong> <strong>of</strong> Cyprus College, where she teaches<br />

In 2010, she founded the Cyprus Image Institute after obtaining the title <strong>of</strong> Certified Image Maker (with attendance in<br />
London) and joined as an associate member <strong>of</strong> the Association <strong>of</strong> Image Consultants International. At 27, Andrie was the<br />
youngest nominated Ambassador for Female Entrepreneurship for Europe, serving since then as a business advisor and<br />
mentor. In 2013, Andrie was designated as the Goodwill Ambassador <strong>of</strong> the Hope in Life Foundation and a Cypriot Woman<br />
<strong>of</strong> the Year (2013) finalist. She enjoys regular and extensive publicity in local print, online and television programs, and<br />
have been interviewed for various publications in the US, Denmark, Holland, and Greece. She was a Senior Manager at the<br />
Markets department <strong>of</strong> KPMG in Cyprus, and she currently holds the role <strong>of</strong> the Organizational Leader <strong>of</strong> the Ronald<br />

Elena is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) with a BA (Hons) in Business Administration and an MSc in Monetary<br />

companies and financial institutions at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Later, she worked from the position <strong>of</strong> a<br />

corporate compliance sector, Elena was responsible for a large portfolio <strong>of</strong> clients and had hands on experience on<br />
compliance with the Anti – Money Laundering (AML) legislation <strong>of</strong> the portfolio she was managing. She has a thorough<br />
knowledge and understanding <strong>of</strong> the legislation and the ICPAC requirements regarding AML Compliance.<br />
In 2016, she joined on a full-time basis the <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essional <strong>Studies</strong> <strong>of</strong> Cyprus College, where she teaches<br />
pr<strong>of</strong>essional courses which lead to the ACA and ACCA qualification. She specializes in the taxation and financial and<br />

<strong>The</strong> need to <strong>of</strong>fer the program arose after realizing the great difficulties faced by pr<strong>of</strong>essionals in the field <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>The</strong> COVID-19 pandemic crisis has thrown a curveball at humanity, disrupting almost all walks <strong>of</strong> life and with<br />

Elena is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) with a BA (Hons) in Business Administration and an MSc in Monetary<br />
and Financial Economics. She has worked for a decade in the pr<strong>of</strong>ession, initially as an auditor <strong>of</strong> investment holding<br />
companies and financial institutions at PwC. Later, she worked from the position <strong>of</strong> a manager in the Corporate<br />
Compliance Department <strong>of</strong> Abacus Ltd and PwC. During her involvement in the audit and corporate compliance sector,<br />
Elena was responsible for a large portfolio <strong>of</strong> clients and had hands on experience on compliance with the AML<br />
legislation <strong>of</strong> the portfolio she was managing. She has a thorough knowledge and understanding <strong>of</strong> the legislation and<br />
the ICPAC requirements regarding AML Compliance. In 2016, she joined on a full-time basis the <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />

A performance appraisal is a formal meeting between a manager and a member <strong>of</strong> staff that occurs on a regular<br />
basis. In some cases, it's simply referred to as an appraisal; in others, it's referred to as an appraisal review or a<br />
performance review. <strong>The</strong> aims <strong>of</strong> the appraisal tend to reflect the priorities <strong>of</strong> the organisation. It is important,<br />
though, that the appraisers who are being trained reflect on what they want to get from appraisals and on what they<br />
think appraisees will want. Both the person being appraised, and the appraiser might be distressed by appraisals.<br />
However, the good news is that well-conducted assessments can be extremely beneficial to both parties.<br />
Achieving higher performance does not happen automatically; success depends on the human skills <strong>of</strong> the person at<br />
the sharp end – the appraiser. Very <strong>of</strong>ten – with the best intentions – managers get appraisals wrong. <strong>The</strong> goal <strong>of</strong><br />
this session is to immerse and develop hiring managers or HR members to conduct successful, productive, and full<br />
appraisals. Participants will be able to communicate feedback in a positive manner to their appraisees and plan and<br />
implement development plans based on that feedback.<br />

AML regulations and legislations are continuously evolving. Especially, in the era <strong>of</strong> virtual assets the need for the<br />
development <strong>of</strong> guidance and regulations as to how pr<strong>of</strong>essionals can protect their business from unknowingly getting<br />
involved in Money Laundering is becoming critical.<br />
FATF has already issued various relevant guidance and countries around the world are slowly adapting their local<br />
regulations and/or legislations accordingly.<br />
This course, therefore, has been based upon the FATF issued guidance’s on virtual assets and aims to introduce the<br />
participants to the terminology <strong>of</strong> virtual assets as well as the red flags present when virtual assets are involved. <strong>The</strong><br />

Elena is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) with a BA (Hons) in Business Administration and an MSc in Monetary<br />
and Financial Economics. She has worked for a decade in the pr<strong>of</strong>ession, initially as an auditor <strong>of</strong> investment holding<br />
companies and financial institutions at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Later, she worked from the position <strong>of</strong> a<br />
manager in the Corporate Compliance Department <strong>of</strong> Abacus Ltd and PwC. During her involvement in the audit and<br />
corporate compliance sector, Elena was responsible for a large portfolio <strong>of</strong> clients and had hands on experience on<br />
compliance with the Anti – Money Laundering (AML) legislation <strong>of</strong> the portfolio she was managing. She has a thorough<br />
knowledge and understanding <strong>of</strong> the legislation and the ICPAC requirements regarding AML Compliance. In 2016, she<br />
joined on a full-time basis the <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essional <strong>Studies</strong> <strong>of</strong> Cyprus College, where she teaches pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />
courses which lead to the ACA and ACCA qualification. She specializes in the taxation and financial and management<br />
accounting papers. Furthermore, she is involved in the delivery <strong>of</strong> HRDA approved seminars in her areas <strong>of</strong> expertise.<br />

attendance in London) and joined as an associate member <strong>of</strong> the Association <strong>of</strong> Image Consultants International. At 27,<br />
Andrie was the youngest nominated Ambassador for Female Entrepreneurship for Europe, serving since then as a<br />
business advisor and mentor. In 2013, Andrie was designated as the Goodwill Ambassador <strong>of</strong> the Hope in Life Foundation<br />
and a Cypriot Woman <strong>of</strong> the Year (2013) finalist. She enjoys regular and extensive publicity in local print, online and<br />
television programs, and have been interviewed for various publications in the US, Denmark, Holland, and Greece. She<br />
was a Senior Manager at the Markets department <strong>of</strong> KPMG in Cyprus, and she currently holds the role <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Organizational Leader <strong>of</strong> the Ronald McDonald House Charities <strong>of</strong> Cyprus. Andrie is a Certified trainer by the Human<br />
Resource Development Authority <strong>of</strong> Cyprus and has over 15 years <strong>of</strong> hands-on management, leadership & training. She<br />

As a result <strong>of</strong> the pandemic, fraud incidents are increasing rapidly and<br />
constitute a significant threat to any company independent <strong>of</strong> sector and size.<br />
Fraud cases are unfortunately one <strong>of</strong> the most important and complex problems<br />
organizations currently face, especially as fraud schemes and financial<br />
transactions are becoming more complex and sophisticated with technology<br />
advancements. It is estimated that a typical organization loses 5% <strong>of</strong> its annual<br />
revenue as a result <strong>of</strong> fraud. Consequently, all entities are nowadays more<br />
susceptible to fraudulent acts and there is an increased need for having a<br />
procedure in place for investigating and reporting cases <strong>of</strong> fraud.<br />

Nicos is a qualified accountant (FCCA) with a vast experience in teaching ACCA, ICAEW, AAT and CAT courses in<br />

Research indicates that scammers take advantage <strong>of</strong> crises, exploiting<br />
people at their most vulnerable moments to propagate fraud attacks.<br />
Currently, as a result <strong>of</strong> Covid-19 pandemic, fraud incidents are increasing<br />
rapidly and constitute a significant threat to any organization.<br />
Undoubtedly, no organization is immune to fraud incidents which can have<br />
a devastating impact on companies and can even result in bankruptcy. It<br />
is estimated that entities lose an average <strong>of</strong> 5% <strong>of</strong> their annual revenue as<br />
a result <strong>of</strong> fraudulent acts. Consequently, all entities are nowadays more<br />
susceptible to fraudulent acts and there is an increased need for having a<br />
formal Fraud Risk Management Program in place to address and manage<br />
the risk <strong>of</strong> fraud.<br />
This course will help participants to acquire the necessary knowledge and<br />

Andrie studied Marketing and Business Management in London where she also acquired the Advanced Certificate from the<br />
Chartered Institute <strong>of</strong> Marketing London. She was in charge <strong>of</strong> marketing and communications at EY Cyprus. At the same<br />
time, she graduated with Distinction from London and was awarded a master’s degree in Strategic Marketing. In 2008, she<br />
founded Penta Marketing Art, which provided marketing and public relations solutions for private and public companies.<br />
In 2010, she founded the Cyprus Image Institute after obtaining the title <strong>of</strong> Certified Image Maker (with attendance in<br />
London) and joined as an associate member <strong>of</strong> the Association <strong>of</strong> Image Consultants International. At 27, Andrie was the<br />
youngest nominated Ambassador for Female Entrepreneurship for Europe, serving since then as a business advisor and<br />
mentor. In 2013, Andrie was designated as the Goodwill Ambassador <strong>of</strong> the Hope in Life Foundation and a Cypriot Woman<br />
<strong>of</strong> the Year (2013) finalist. She enjoys regular and extensive publicity in local print, online and television programs, and<br />
have been interviewed for various publications in the US, Denmark, Holland, and Greece. She was a Senior Manager at the<br />
Markets department <strong>of</strong> KPMG in Cyprus, and she currently holds the role <strong>of</strong> the Organizational Leader <strong>of</strong> the Ronald<br />
McDonald House Charities <strong>of</strong> Cyprus. Andrie is a Certified trainer by the Human Resource Development Authority <strong>of</strong> Cyprus<br />
and has over 15 years <strong>of</strong> hands-on management, leadership & training. She served well-known international and local<br />

Μία από τις σημαντικότερες εξελίξεις στον τομέα της προστασίας των προσωπικών δεδομένων κατά την τελευταία εικοσαετία είναι η<br />
ολοένα αυξανόμενη εστίαση στην έννοια του κινδύνου ως μία από τις θεμελιώδεις παραμέτρους για τη δημιουργία νομοθετικών<br />
ρυθμίσεων και για την επίτευξη της απαιτούμενης συμμόρφωσης. Υπό το πρίσμα αυτό, ο ΓΚΠΔ ακολουθεί μία προσέγγιση βασισμένη στον<br />
κίνδυνο (risk-based approach), προδιαγράφοντας την απαίτηση για ανάλυση του κινδύνου και σχεδιασμού αντίστοιχων μέτρων που τον<br />
αντισταθμίζουν αναλόγως. Ωστόσο, προς το παρόν υπάρχουν περιορισμένες και διάσπαρτες μεθοδολογίες που ενσωματώνουν πλήρως<br />
τον κίνδυνο για την προστασία των προσωπικών δεδομένων, όπως απορρέει από τις διατάξεις του ΓΚΠΔ. Το σεμινάριο αυτό παρουσιάζει<br />
μία ολιστική και ολοκληρωμένη μεθοδολογία για τη συνολική αντιμετώπιση της διαχείρισης του κινδύνου από τους υπεύθυνους<br />
επεξεργασίας και τους εκτελούντες την επεξεργασία προσωπικών δεδομένων στο πλαίσιο των απαιτήσεων του ΓΚΠΔ, χρησιμοποιώντας<br />
πρακτικά παραδείγματα και περιπτωσιολογικές μελέτες (case studies).<br />
