ABOUT US
Pandemonium Collective is a magazine
that centers around the motto: For
Teens, By Teens. Our editors come from
High Schools in St Lucie County Florida,
but our magazine is for teens
everywhere. We focus on providing a
safe space for the community to become
informed on current events, and to tune
into some of their favorite topics. At
Pandemonium, we focus on finding unity
within the chaos of society. Our name is
also a fun play on words, as our
magazine was founded throughout the
Pandemic. Today, young voices are
rarely given a platform for their
opinions and concerns, we seek to fix
this problem and create a future that
transcends through creativity,
individuality, and unity.

Pandemonium Collective is far from finished when it
comes to reaching our ultimate goal of unity,
individuality and creativity. It is our hope that this
digital magazine will continue to be a uniting platform
for teens for years to come. However, our staff will be
changing within the coming months. As our seniors
prepare for the next chapter of their life,
Pandemonium Collective is excited to slowly start
introducing our junior team. Our junior team will grow
to be the face of Pandemonium, and we know you will
love them just as much as we do!

THANK YOU PANDEMONIUM READERS!

Hi, I'm Amanda Messina! I'm sixteen years old and a Junior at
Treasure Coast Highschool. My favorite subjects are history and
science specifically revolving around the environment and its
preservation. I enjoy traveling, learning about new cultures and
religions, and crystal collecting. I'm really excited to be working
with Talia and Pandemonium Collective because it provides a
creative space and outlet for teenagers to discuss important topics.
However, I'm most excited to promote the magazine and include
more teens as it grows!

CLAY CREATIONS
Nicole Beltran
Hi everyone! Happy Valentines Day! For this month’s
edition, I would like to share with you all a tutorial
on friendship charms! What better way to express
your love and appreciation this Valentine's season
than with a BFF necklace, bracelet, keychain, etc.
Stay tuned to learn how to create a BFF donut
charm!
The basic materials that you will need are cutting and circular
tools, paint (optional), glaze (optional), an oven, and a variety of
clay colors.

For the base of the donut, roll the tan clay piece into a circular
shape and then flatten it out. Use the circular tool to create an
opening in the center of the flattened piece.
Repeat this process for the
frosting of the donut but this time,
take your circular tool and create
a sequence of dents within the
clay to achieve a dripping effect.
Place the frosting onto the donut and line up the opening.
Then slice the donut in half.
Take your variety of colors and roll them
out to cut small rectangular pieces.
These will go on top of the frosting to
create sprinkles! When you adjust to
your liking, place the donut in the oven
and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for
about ten to fifteen minutes.

FINAL PRODUCT...
Once it is done baking, you can use paint to create a face! This is
completely optional and could also just be accomplished with
clay. Personally, I have found it much simpler to work with paint
to create facial features rather than using clay but there is no
wrong way! After, you can glaze your creation for a glossy and
neat finish!
I hope you all enjoyed this tutorial. This
donut charm is the perfect way to
express your love this Valentine's
season… Food and art all in one!

And They Say Money Doesn’t Buy You
Happiness…
While it may be true that money doesn’t buy ultimate
happiness, material things can still bring about joy….
Shocking I know. Spending time with your family or friends
might bring about happiness, but so does receiving that
long-awaited package in the mail! Life is a journey full of
constant roadblocks and obstacles, its okay to treat
yourself to those small things in life that make you jump
with for joy!
HIDDEN MYSTERIES: A GUIDE FOR
BEGINNERS IN TAROT
By: Amanda Messina
BRIEF HISTORY
Tarot Cards were initially popularized in the late fourteenth century as
playing cards. They regained notoriety in the mid-1400s when Royal families
would pay to personalize decks as a display of wealth. It wasn't until the late
sixteenth century that Tarot cards were used for divination, granted it was
much simpler because it was still developing as a practice.
CONNECTING WITH YOUR DECK
When choosing a deck, its important you get one that calls to you and grabs
your attention most. Every object and living being radiates energy; with that
being said, it's important that your deck is familiar with your energy. There
are various ways to intertwine your energies, including sleeping with it under
your pillow, meditating with it, and carrying it around with you. \I would also
recommend cleansing your deck with incense like Frankincense or crystals
like selenite. After about a week of becoming comfortable with each other's
presences, an interview spread can be done. By doing so, you can learn about
your deck's personality, motives, and methods.
using your deck
Tarot cards are typically used for advice
and to gain access to knowledge you
wouldn't normally have. Most decks differ
and come with a guidebook; reading out of
the bool helps, but your interpretations are
what matter. The guidebooks provide a
variety of spreads that you can practice
using.

maintenance of a deck

A deck needs to be cleansed periodically. This
ensures your readings are correct. There's a
variety of ways to cleanse a deck including incense,
chimes, music, rearranging and organizing your
deck in order, or using selenite. I also suggest
playing music or lighting a candle while doing
readings it sets a calm ambiance. Readings can be
done as often as you like, some people doing a daily
reading.

Overall, Tarot is a fun hobby, you can do readings with
your friends and show your family. I enjoy the surprises
I get when a card relates exactly to what I'm
experiencing, it never gets old.

What’s Going On?
A new abortion bill was just recently passed by the Florida
house. It will now head to the Florida Senate.
What Does this Mean?
The bill is looking to ban abortions past the 15-week
mark, with no exceptions for rape, incest, or human
trafficking. The bill states that the only exceptions to an
abortion past the 15-week period is if the mother’s life is in
danger, or if the fetus has fatal abnormalities, and even
then, these conditions must be confirmed by two different
doctors.
Despite protest from house democrats and proposals
which amended the bill to provide exceptions for rape,
incest or human trafficking, the debate over the bill lasted
a mere 6 hours and ended in a near party line vote of 78-
39.
So, what Now?
The bill is now going to the senate where it will then wait
approval from the governor if passed. Governor DeSantis
has previously pledged support for the bill and has
mentioned that he sees no problem with a Pro-Life
centered government.
The fate of Roe V Wade now hangs upon a single string,
dangling above a dark abyss that sees no light regarding
the fate of Women’s rights.
As many of us turn 18, approach 18, or know others that
are 18, it is time to vote. We have the ability to vote on our
elected representatives; we need to elect those who will
give women the right to choose!

I’m sure you, like many others, have found yourself alone,
beyond boredom with nothing other than your phone, and
whilst our phones do seem to soak up an abundance of our
time, even Tik Tok, Snapchat, endless hours of music, or
online shopping start to feel redundant at a certain point.
The funny thing is, a few years ago I never EVER found
myself becoming bored on my phone and I think that has a
lot to do with the fact that games used to occupy a lot
more space on my device. So, I’ve decided to try out some
newer games and revisit some of the old ones that I used
to love… and no, I’m not encouraging more screen time, I’m
just suggesting something to pass the time when your
teacher finishes the lesson early or you’re stuck in the car
for another five hours.

Below is a list of some of
the games I recommend
when you need a little
something to get through
your boredom.
THE BENEFITS OF
HOUSE PLANTS
AMANDA MESSINA
House plants are a great way to decorate your cozy home while still
bringing life and energy into your space. They’re extremely beneficial
and have multiple mental and physical health advantages! My favorite
part about having house plants is simply the beauty of them.

Common house plants and succulents have the easiest care, as
someone who struggles with maintaining tasks I’ve been able to care
for my plants effectively and consistently for three years and have
even added to my collection throughout the years! I enjoy taking care
of my plants and indoor gardening because it gives me a sense of
purpose outside school and extracurriculars. Most people think it’s a
messy and diligent process to take care of plants but it just needs
minimal requirements like being watered every two weeks and placed
in indirect sunlight. Once you inform yourself on the proper care
specific plants need it’s astonishingly easy and you get to watch
them triple in size and grow with you.

BENEFITS
The mental benefits of house plants are
extensive, plants have been proven to lower
anxiety levels, especially through the process
of indoor gardening. Since starting indoor
gardening I’ve been able to gauge a sense of
responsibility that doesn’t overwhelm me and
lowers my stress instead of making it worse.
I’ve also noticed an increase in air quality
that isn’t present in rooms without house
plants.
The difference is notable because air can feel
denser or heavier without house plants to filter
through the Carbon Dioxide. Additionally, they
can make you feel accomplished and increase
your productivity, something as simple as
watering your plants can be a source of
satisfaction that can end periods of sadness
and unproductivity. It can also get you used to
routine-based hobbies making you more aware
of time and dates.

RECOMMENDATIONS
I have a variety of plants and succulents with limited care. I tend
to gravitate towards succulents like Jade plants/Money Tree
plants, Silver dollar plants, the string of buttons, Copportone
Sedum, and Moonstones just to name a few which follow the
same watering schedule and need the same amount of sunlight. As
for house plants I love vines and climbers, especially in my room,
my favorites include Golden Pothos “The Devils Ivy” and Monstera
Deliciosa “The Swiss Cheese Plant”.
HOUSE PLANTS ARE TRULY BEAUTIFUL AND DELICATE BEINGS
THAT ARE REFLECTIVE OF YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND HEALTH. ITS
IMPORTANT OBTAIN ACCOMADATIONS THAT"LL IMPROVE YOUR
STATE OF MIND AND LIVING AND HOUSE PLANTS ARE AN AMAZING
WAY TO ACHEIVE THAT

INVASION OF THE PORTUGUESE MAN O’ WAR
ZOE BROOKER
If you live on the east coast of the United States, from
Florida to South Carolina, then you have probably come
across washed up jellyfish along the shore in the spring
and summer months. One of the most commonly misidentified
organisms that wash onto the shore are Portuguese Man o’
War. Many people believe that these organisms are
jellyfish but they are an entirely different group of
animals, with similarities to jellyfish. Man o’ War float
on the top of the water and travel by wind and ocean
currents: a key difference to jellyfish.
As I was walking along the beach in February, I found an
abundance of washed-up infant Man O’ War along the east
coast of Hutchinson Island, Florida. Within 2 weeks, there
has been an increasing amount of Man o’ War that get
pushed onto shore from the tide and end up desiccating
(but be careful, their tentacles can still sting you
months after the organism has died.)

The increase in the presence of these organisms
could be attributed to the strong offshore winds
that the east coast has been getting for the last
couple of weeks. Since Man o' War float on the top
of the water, they can easily be pushed onto shore
during high tide and have no way of getting back
into the ocean. It’s a good thing that
reproduction of this organism creates hundreds of
spawns because many small, infant Man o’ Wars are
dying on the beach but the overall population of
this species is in good shape.
Since these deadly animals are becoming abundant
on the water's edge, be aware of where you’re
stepping and swimming this spring and summer. The
best option is to swim in areas that have a
lifeguard so you don’t accidentally encounter one.
College Interviews
Whether you’re a junior, senior or even just entering high
school, you’re bound to endure the stress of college
interviews… yet the funny thing is, this doesn’t have to be
a nerve-wracking process. Whilst interviews are often
used to evaluate the student, they aren’t an interrogation,
but rather an exploration of character. College Admission
Office’s want students who aren’t robots; they’re looking
for candidates who are whole heartedly passionate and
excited about what they do and who they are.
Although I wouldn’t call myself an
expert on the interview process,
turn to the next page for a few
tips that I’ve accumulated along
the way, and a few common
questions you should be prepared
for!
Q
·Just be yourself. This sounds cheesy but remember, the
college already has your application; they already know your
grades and test scores, now just let your personality shine
through.
·Have questions and take the opportunity to get to know
about the school. This isn’t just about the college seeing if
you’re a good fit for them, it’s also your opportunity to see if
the school is a good fit for you. From personal experience, I
lost interest in what I thought to be my “Dream School” after I
got talking with my interviewer and realized that the campus
vibe just wasn’t what I was looking for.
·Don’t over prepare!!! This is a big one. Of course, you should
prep for you interview and get comfortable answering and
asking questions, but over preparing can result in sounding
robotic or extremely rehearsed.
Common Questions
·Tell me a bit about yourself
·Can you tell me a bit about what you consider to be your most
meaningful activity throughout school?
·How would others describe you? Why?
·What’s your favorite book and why?
·If you could have a conversation with one person living or
dead, who would it be? Why?

MOST IMPORTANT LESSON
FROM HIGH SCHOOL
HERLANDY MARCELIN
I asked a selection of high school seniors the most
important lesson they learned throughout their schooling
career that they have used or will use later in life. Below are
the responses that I received.
Hannah: “To not depend on anybody else to get you where
you want to be; you got to do it yourself.”
Rosemary: “What I’ve learned in high school is your better off
alone.”
Herlanda: “I’ve learned that change is good, and sometimes
you have to fail to actually succeed.”
Alize: “One thing I’ve learned in high school is if you’re
already late, you might as well stop to get breakfast.”
Maria Emilia: “The most important thing in high school that
I’ve learned is to take care of yourself, to put yourself first in
every single situation… Put your mental health first, put your
own self-image first, everything about yourself first before
you want anything academic.”

Brianna: “Not to trust people, even when you think they’re
your friends.”
Richie: “The value of corporation and teamwork.”
Lucia: “Is to be true to yourself, you don’t have to see
validation from other people... or to get other people to
like you. Be true to yourself because that’s how you gain
more friend types, that’s how you gain more relationships
and a really great relationship with yourself.”

Finally, the last quote will be from me, a freshman.

“I feel like personally, the best thing you can learn is to
not expect success. You can’t be perfect at every second
of every day; you will fall short at some point in your life,
that being in your academic or personal life. What matters
most is getting back up and fighting for what you want.”

ART GALLERY
SHANNON MACGREGOR
The painting featured on the left is named “La Jeune Fille au
Bouquet” which translates to “Young Girl with Bouquet”. The artist
Émile Théodore Frandsen, was a French-danish painter who lived
from the years 1902-to 1969. This painting became famous after
being used as the cover art for the album,
“Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs” was created by the
band Derek and the Dominos which was led by rock legend
Eric Clapton. The painting was originally gifted to Clapton by
the artist’s son, while the band stayed at his home. The girl in
the painting is widely known as “Layla” which was a hit song on
the album. Émile Théodore Frandsen was an incredible artist
and has many beautiful paintings similar to “La Jeune Fille au
Bouquet”.

These pieces were both created by contemporary
artist Aya Takano. Takano is a 45-year-old,
Japanese artist. She most often uses oil paint and
colored pencil for her creations. Her art displays
dreamlike images and creates a sense of wonder
in viewers. I am a big fan of her large portfolio.

This piece of art has been named
“Can’t Help Myself” and is on display
at the Guggenheim Museum.The
piece was created by Sun Yuan &
Peng Yu. The industrial robotic arm,
is tasked which the job of to keeping
a large puddle of dark red liquid
contained. The arm is in a
continuous loop of constantly having
to clean the liquid while in turn
making more of a mess in its efforts
to clean. The art is a clever and
interesting display of how as the
name suggests one just can’t help
themselves.

It never settles on the same spot of the room, that would be too easy.
You chase after this light, knowing if you could catch it, your world
would fit into place, even for a moment. So you chase, you run, you
sprint, you race across the room. It expands for you, makes itself
bigger, turns, flips, folds, spins, because the room is working against
you. It knows that once you reach that light, you won’t need it
anymore.
So you chase and chase endlessly until that light disappears again,
like the other 6,357. Everyday since you were born, that light has
come into that room, taunted you with false hope. At the end, every
time, you stumble over an invisible rock, and you fall on your face. No
matter how fast you glance up, that light vanishes. You spend the next
hours waiting for the next day, hoping for another chance, no matter
how stupid it is.
You’re never fed, yet you remain alive. Brittle, weak, small, bony, but
alive. Another way that room makes fun of you. Knowing you will
never be able to keep running after the stumble, over that invisible
obstacle with your frail body.
You may never have a way out. You may catch that light next time, or
maybe never. That light, its hope, but more specifically, the people in
your life who manage to reach a hand in, in the form of the light, and
lift you for a breather, even for a small amount. To give you enough
confidence to face the world around you and not back down. Just
enough to remember yourself.

It only lasts seconds. Months in human time. It is never enough.
Everytime, you are dropped, everytime someone lets go, you crash
back in and you don't look for the light the next day, maybe because it
simply doesn't show. Because this time you have crashed too hard,
too far, your rescuer couldn't stick around.
You want to come out. By yourself. Without anyone's help. But you are
not strong enough. So you will continue to give the sidewalk to the
other person, while you walk in the grass. Move your shopping cart
from next to you to the other side of the aisle, so the tiny child running
after her mother has enough space, so you’re not intruding, so you’re
not in her way. You will continue to be a pushover, you will continue to
not meet anyone in the eye. You will phrase your words to what others
may enjoy hearing, you won't be rude, even when they are. Because
you are not strong enough to face the world alone.

EUPHORIA FINALE THEORIES
THEORY 1: Previous episodes displayed Faye's boyfriends
Custer cooperating with the police and making it known
to Faye that he is working with them. One can only
wonder what he can offer the police... it's theorized that
Custer is working to set up Fezco and Ashtray to distract
the police and frame Fezco for dealing. That'll lead to a
series of events where Fezco is arrested and sentenced to
jail while Ashtray is sent to Juvenile detention or put into
the foster care system.
THEORY 2: Ashtray stabs Custer because he believes that
Custer is working against Fezco and him...this would
explain the blood we see on Fez's shirt in the previous
episode. Before anybody has time to act, the police barge
in, as they were already planning to raid the house, and
they see a lifeless Custer. It is possible that Fezco takes
the blame for the murder, which explains why we see
him on the ground in the episode's trailer. This would
lead to Fezco being arrested and Faye being left to take
care of Ashtray.
These are just a few of our theories, we can't wait to see
what actually happens in the Season 2 finale!
