The Greenwood Village Police Department prides itself on providing the highest level of<br />

services to members of the business community to assure the safety of your business,<br />

employees, and customers. Every officer of the department serves as a business community<br />

liaison and works in partnership with business owners, managers, and your staff to identify<br />

and address any safety challenges that may arise. We want your business to be successful.<br />

Active Threat Training Program<br />

POLICE DEPARTMENT<br />

Designed for Police Officers to go on-site at your business and teach employees practical<br />

and simple tools and techniques to help you prepare for and respond to an active threat<br />

situation. The training is designed to increase awareness so employees can be equipped with<br />

the knowledge and understanding of how to escape active threat incidents. Topics include:<br />

• Learn about options based active threat response protocols;<br />

• Hear about recent trends in active threat events; and<br />

• Discuss practical applications for effective deterrence and responses.


Crime Prevention through<br />

Environmental Design (CPTED)<br />

Consultation<br />

A CPTED certified Police Officer<br />

conducts an on-site visit and provides<br />

a multi-disciplinary approach to<br />

deterring criminal behavior through<br />

environmental design. Crime prevention<br />

recommendations are provided through<br />

a detailed report to increase safety<br />

of your employees and patrons and<br />

reduce opportunities for your business<br />

to be victimized of a crime.<br />

Emergency Notification Service – ArapAlert<br />

Make sure your business and employees know about emergencies and disasters before<br />

or as they happen. The alerts will include natural disaster evacuations, hazardous<br />

materials contaminations, missing persons, terrorism preparedness, criminal activity,<br />

public health, and any other events that are deemed an emergency by the Greenwood<br />

Village Police Department. All land-lined telephone numbers located in the boundaries<br />

of Greenwood Village are already included in the emergency alert database so citizens<br />

will automatically get alerts through their land-line telephones.<br />

You can also sign up to receive emergency alerts on any other communication devices<br />

such as cellular phones and emails. The messages will be delivered in the form of a<br />

voicemail, text message, instant message, fax or email depending upon the settings<br />

Hotel Outreach<br />

Officers meet on a quarterly basis with hotel owners and managers to address<br />

challenges, share crime statistics and trends, and develop solutions for crime prevention.
