thrown in.
At this event you will see riders from the age of 6 years old to riders over the age of 30 compete in
their respective classes based on the bike capacity, which is associated through age brackets.
Throughout the event you will have the opportunity to see riders at their team set ups located in the
rider paddock, or you can attend the team signings which are held at a designated times. There is
plenty to do across the weekend so you’re not coming just for the racing.
RIDER THOUGHTS HEADING INTO
THE FIRST ROUND
DAN ARKELL
What are your aspirations for the
opening round?
For the opening round I’m aiming for a
top 5 overall, which is definitely going
to be hard, but with the off season
training we’ve been putting in I think
it’s possible.
What are you hoping to improve on after your time racing at
Culham last year?
Last year at Culham I got a 9th overall but my consistency wasn’t the best with a crash in 3 of the 4
races, so through the winter I’ve been doing Motos working on my consistency which will hopefully
pay off at the first round.
What do you think will be the most difficult aspect
this year at Culham?
In my opinion finding the smoother outside lines is going to be key this year, as we have the MX1
and MX2 both at the meeting the main racing line will get very technical and tiring with the 20 +1
races.
How have you been training on the off season
for the first round of the Revo ACU British
Motocross Championship Fuelled By Gulf Race
Fuels ?
I had great winter training. We went cycling
camp before Christmas and after new year’s we
did cross country skiing camp with team
Estonia riders.
With YZ450F I started riding end of January and
had great couple weeks in Spain and had 3
races in february to prepare myself and team.
HARRI KULLAS
What are your goals for the first round?
Obviously I want to stay healthy and be there every
round and for sure I try to start the season better than
last year! To land on podium at first round would be
awesome!
RIDER THOUGHTS HEADING INTO
THE FIRST ROUND
BEN MUSTOE
What are your aims for the opening round?
I am aiming for some solid racing at Culham to build
confidence and to build on it for the rest of the season.
What are you looking to improve after racing
at Culham last year?
I had a really good weekend at Culham last year, but
I’d like to improve on starts. Starts will be really
What is the biggest obstacle you will have to
important to get some good results.
overcome at Culham?
My biggest obstacle will be how strong the class is. It will be important to stay consistent and be a
contender every round. Staying fit throughout the year will also be important.
COLE MCCULLOUGH
What are your aspirations for the opening round at Culham?
I will be as prepared as I possibly can for Culham, it is only Round 1 so there is no need to put everything
on the line
How have you been practicing for the round at Culham?
Culham will be my first competitive race since joining Roger Magee’s Hitachi KTM fuelled by Milwaukee
team and moving up to the 125 class.
Unfortunately I picked up an injury in January and had 5 weeks off the bike, I am currently in Spain to try
get as much bike time as possible for 10 days.
What will be the biggest obstacle you will face at Culham in your new class?
I look forward to my move up to the 125 class a couple years early, every rider on the start
line is opposition, regardless of age, it is irrelevant, I am looking forward to mixing it with
them throughout 2022
SWORD
PHOTO: RAY ARCHER
Ex motocross rider Stephen Sword is now a
mechanic at the Hitachi KTM fuelled by Milwaukee
team. For the 2022 season he is taking two riders;
Isak Gifting and Kay Karssemakers under his wing
to maximise their potential
What is your job/ role in the industry now?
Job role is rider coach/coordinator for Hitachi KTM
fuelled by Milwaukee team.
What is the British championship like
now compared to when you used to race?
The British has changed a fair bit over the pasted
few years and especially over the last 15 years.
British motocross is strong but it needs the time
to grow stronger again. It’s something I’ve always
been proud to be a part of and support. I love the
racing and the sport so I always want to see it
going in the right direction and in a positive way.
What is your favourite memory as a rider in the British championship?
I’ve been lucky enough to have lots of great memories on and off the track in the British championship
over the years. The one that stands out is my first British Championship title going down to the last
race with Billy Mackenzie.

STEPHEN
SWORD
What are your favourite tracks to ride? Coach at?
Favourite tracks to ride would be Foxhill, Canada heights
and lyng. I love coaching at any track.
What is your proudest moment as a coach?
Its only my third year as a rider coach but my proudest moments would be helping the riders when
the going is tough and things aren’t maybe going so well. It’s very rewarding when you are able to
turn a not so good day into a great day by the end.
Helping Conrad Mewse to 8th in the mx2 world championship and winning his second
British title was a good feeling too.
Who are you coaching currently?
Current riders I coach are Isak Gifting and Kay
Karssemakers in MX2. Also Cole McCullough in emx125.
Any tips for riders in the championship at the moment?
This year the goal is to guide and push our riders to win the British title.
All I would say to anyone racing , is to give 100% commitment into all the preparation that goes
into achieving your goals.
Since 2014 the British Youth Championship has been organised by RHL Activities whilst running rounds of the ACU British
Adult Championship. RHL Activities took over the rights to Promote with clubs and organisers the ACU Adult British
Championship from the Auto Cycle union back in 2021 we are looking forward to continuing to promote and organise the
Revo ACU British Motocross Championship Fuelled by Gulf Race Fuels this year alongside some of the best clubs.
RHL Activities has been running motorsport events for
over 30 years intending to make all events inclusive,
whilst we encourage people who have little
understanding to view it as a distinguished and
renowned sport. This is achieved by making the
events accessible online through live stream, allowing
those who can’t make the trip able to get involved.
We aim to raise the popularity of this prized sport and
turn the rounds into high- profile events that
encourages fans to the track whilst supporting the call
for new supporters.
Our aim as a company is now focused on creating a greener community by working towards reducing the amount of
plastic used at the Weston Beach Race whilst promoting sustainability towards riders and spectators. At the British
Championship we have been encouraging teams to use reusable bottles to hold liquids and require them to use
environmental mats to dispose of oil. RHL Activities is also part of the council’s environmental plan to create a greener
community.
This year we are thrilled to be hosting the Revo ACU British Motocross Championship Fuelled by Gulf Race Fuels to work
together and organise this Championship to bring it to a club near you. We are motivated to expand the popularity of
these events by advertising with multimedia platforms to attempt to get more people who are less interested in the
sport, watching or attending this year. The lineup of tracks is different compared to 2021 featuring some fan favourites
such as FatCat Moto Parc. With our riders practicing in the off season, we expect them to be on top form to show off their
remarkable skills to the crowds.
@rhlactivities @rhlactivities www.rhlactivities.com

This year RHL Activities will be the lead Organisers for Culham, Whitby and Warmingham Lane. We plan to give riders the
opportunity to further their skills by bringing a range of different circuits into the British Championship. Having chosen a
range of tracks all over Britain, we hope to attract more viewers from the areas to come spectate the invigorating racing
that is seen at the rounds.
As the promoters of the Revo ACU British Motocross Championship Fuelled by
Gulf Race Fuels, we are constantly looking for ways to expand our audience and
increase the popularity of this sport so motocross can receive the recognition
that it has worked so hard to receive. The passion of the teams, riders and
spectators gets undermined, so we want to bring that burning intensity and
grow it through the Championship.
RHL Activities is always pushing the boundaries to help support the
development of riders, to have an environment where we can mould them from
a young age, so they can advance through to the MXGP’s. We are excited to
welcome you all back to the British Championship and Weston Beach Race,
where we hope to see some new faces amongst the crowd.
