Almost all kind of trailers can be

transported on train - with the

r2L connector.

For years the logistics industry has been looking

for an efficient solution for transporting trucks and

trailers by rail. After 5 years of development, we can

offer you an innovative solution that can master this

challenge: The r2L connector.

With the R2L connector, we are increasing the

number of crane-loadable trailers from 5 to 95%!

Even frigo-, liquid- and fuel tank trailers can all use

this innovation.

5min / trailer

Efficiency is key.

Through years of experience on our loading

ramps, we were able to develop a system with

which the trailers can be loaded onto a train in

less than 5 minutes.

We offer the solution! Today.

No time to waste! Many solutions are being developed for

the CO2-free transport of goods, but none are immediately

available. The framework conditions that have now

arisen require ready-to-use, reliable and efficient solutions.

Rent for your future.

The patented r2L connector is produced by r2L and can be

rented by logistics companies. You will be coached by r2L

how to use the system best for your requirements. This

concept secures your own infrastructure with the “tool“

r2L connector.

CO2 savings.

The currency of the future.

The r2L connector saves 1 t CO2 per 1000 km of road

transport! “CO2 savings” is already being called the currency

of the future. The EU Commission plans to extend CO2

compensation to the logistics sector by 2025.

With r2L you are ready for this day.

The r2L multiuse connector

can charge all vehicles

with rubber tyres.

To manage all kind of vehicles is the basis for switching

to rail. Whether transporting new light and heavy

commercial vehicles or even repositioning registered

tractors, many things are possible.

Thanks to years of practical application, we have developed

multifunctional loading surfaces, which ensure

the optimal use of space.

2L multiuse connector

• direct handling in front of wagon

• suitable for all kind of rubber wheeled vehicles

• loading capacities

– 2 truck tractors

– up to 3 light commercial vehicles

– up to 4 cars

– each kind of semi-trailer

– flat wagon solution

We are flexible.

Our r2L multiuse connector offers the utmost possible

loading flexibility and can accommodate up to 38 semi-trailers in

block trains, 76 lorries or 114 LCVs/tractors and any mixture

loading of different types of vehicles.

Full service for your shift

to r2L connector

The r2L connector is the game changer for freight logistics

with regard to the required modal split pro railways.

Europe’s infrastructural conditions are lagging behind the future

EU policy scenarios. The r2L connector solution is precisely adapted to

today’s existing infrastructure. This allows you to start the transition

to a CO2-free future for your logistics company at any time, no matter

what structure you are currently using.

It is time to change and it is our mission to support all those who want

to change now. We are eager to answer your individual questions

about your future of CO2 free logistics.

Let’s tackle it together!

Future is rail.

Movement is precious. The freedom we depend on to go to

work, travel or buy our favourite products is nothing without

movement, something we’ve all become actually aware of in

the past year. Demand for transport is growing, but so are its

effects on our environment and the climate. The way Europe

moves needs to change. With rail, it’s possible! With rail, Europe

can move more, move freely, stimulate economic activity

and still meet pressing climate objectives.“

Editorial of CER Community of European railway and

infrastructure companies.

European politics are stuck. On the one hand, the profit of the

logistics industry as it is must be sustained, on the other hand

we are aware, that because of the increase of the transport of

goods and the impact on the environment the only chance to

fulfil the Green Deal is to rise the share of rail transport up to

30% until 2030.

Nevertheless, EU Commissioner Adina Valena has spoken

out against a market intervention with an obligation for the

crane-ability of semi-trailers. This presents many companies

with almost insurmountable challenges.

From a former dream job to a great crisis!

Driver fatigue, overtime, low payment.

New drivers are hard to find.

2021 demonstrated for the first time for each and everyone to see, how fragile

our system is. Empty shelves and delay of goods pointed out the increasing truck

driver crisis. The idea of short-term success has created a situation that cannot be

regulated within a few months.

The r2L connector helps in this crisis. The long distance lorry driver job becomes

a local truck driver job. No more people who are separated by the work of their

families for their whole lives.

time to change

the job

Find new drivers with better

working conditions.

The r2L connector also gives the job of truck drivers a new image with an increased

quality of life. New values that allow the industry to re-hire local drivers and integrate

them into an economically positive structure.

Step by step you can build a solid and crisis-resistant personnel structure

build up and demonstrate social responsibility at the same time!

40% of deaths caused by particulate matter derive

from particulate matter by road traffic.

The integration and expansion of combined transport by rail saves lives by decreasing

particulate matter. Though there is no direct financial reason to switch, you can argue,

that it is greener, better for the future and saving lives.

Even for your CSR report the r2L connector may have a positive impact referring to

environmental efforts as well as social responsibility.

Premature deaths attributable to fine particulate matter (PM2.5),

ozone (03) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) exposure in 2012 in

Free the autobahn.

One of the consequences of working with the r2L connector is less

traffic on our highways. This prevents traffic jams and puts an end to

the misery of truck parking lots. Thus the family holiday with a car

can really start at the front door.

No motorway toll for cars in Germany.

Trucks are the main cause of erosion on the German autobahn.

By transporting trailers by rail, there is hardly any reason for the

authorities to introduce a motorway toll for cars to justify the tax

for highway renovations.

time is

money

The 21st century is a breaking point for mankind. Increasing threats

from the environment are confronted with old structures that are

slowly collapsing. In a world where crisis management determines daily

life, those who react flexibly and quickly are in the best position. In the

logistics sector, the winner is the one who can get the goods from A to

B the fastest and safest way. The stability of rail transport can increasingly

be translated into speed.

24/7 Train service

There are no weekend driving bans on the train. Thanks to intelligent

scheduling, the end of the week can be used optimally by train. A

competitive advantage of the r2L connector that can be implemented

efficiently.

Sectoral driving bans

People keep complaining more and more about trucks passing through

villages and cities therefore politicians keep legislating more and more

bans and speed limits. A development that is constantly reducing transport

and speed on roads.

Modular Semi-Trailer Disposition

With the r2L connector, individual semi-trailers can be assigned a

„priority“ for unloading. This allows you to promise faster deliveries

to certain customers. An option you can use individually for customer

loyalty or price.

involve the

consumer

Testimonial COOP Denmark

Coop Denmark was the first large retail chain to label products with a

sticker, declaring that products were delivered by train. The campaign

is part of COOP‘s customer communication regarding the CO2 footprint

of consumer products. COOP therefore is winning over customers while

at the same time taking social and environmental responsibility

Green supply chain to the shelf

With the integration of the r2L connector, logistics companies can

further qualify as a supplier for a consumer with environmental and

ethic principles. This will increasingly be a decisive competitive

advantage in the future.
