Wheels at
Work
Challenge!
Stoke Mandeville Spinal Research (SMSR),
based at the world-renowned National Spinal
Injuries Centre, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire,
invites businesses to take part in their Wheels
at Work initiative.
If you value the issues of disability and
inclusion, then SMSR can help highlight your
commitment to these by giving members
of your team the opportunity to spend a
sponsored day in a wheelchair to gain a
small insight into the lives of people living
with spinal cord injury, currently over 50,000
people in the UK alone.
The Charity will provide the wheelchairs at
a date to suit you, and work in partnership
with businesses taking part on a PR & Social
Media plan to ensure all participants receive
the recognition they deserve for supporting
Wheels at Work.
As our Ambassador Heidi Herkes says: “It’s so
great to know people are taking the time to
get a feel for what life is like in a wheelchair,
even for just one day. I really hope everyone
gets behind Stoke Mandeville Spinal Research
so the charity can raise vital funds and
awareness for their research”.
Carnival '22
The Schools of Chesham Carnival is back!
Taking place on Saturday 11th June 2022, we
hope it will be bigger and better than ever.
Planning for the Carnival is now well underway
and we all very much hope that we can go ahead
after two years away.
Every year the Carnival is based on a
particular theme and this year the theme is
“Love our Planet”. We have a number of local
schools, community groups and local businesses
eagerly preparing their floats which are bound
to make a colourful procession through our High
Street.
Watch this space for more information regarding
the procession and events in Lowndes park on
the day.
If you would like to book a stall in the park
bookings are now open. We are pleased to confirm
that prices remain unchanged this year at
£25 for a charity pitch and £40 for a commercial
pitch. Here is a link to the online booking form:
