CMC Test Set with CMControl
The CMControl is a front panel control device for use with the CMC 356, CMC 353,
CMC 256plus, and CMC 256-6 test sets. Its instant availability and easy operation make it the
ideal solution for the quick verification of test objects.
With the intuitive touch screen user interface setting up tests is particularly easy and convenient.
The control wheel also makes the adjustment of output quantities very efficient. The
test tools included and integrated fault models support the tester in getting reliable results
quickly.
Depending on the preferred working position, the CMControl can either be attached to the
CMC test set as a front panel control unit or be detached and used as a handheld control
device. Magnetic elements at the rear allow it to be easily attached to standard protection
cubicles while the built-in stand works perfectly on every table. Its rugged Ethernet connector
system ensures the reliable communication with the test set.
The CMControl is designed to optimally cover the requirements for commissioning and maintenance
of protection devices and substations.
The CMControl test tools provide a wide range of functions which readily support manual
testing:
• "Pick Up/Drop Off” allows thresholds of protective relays to be checked
• Trip times or other timings of a protective relay can be verified with the “Time” tool
• "Time Characteristics” is designed to test relays with multiple timing stages or particular
characteristics
• With the “Reclosure” tool the number of cycles and cycle times of a reclosure function can
be checked
• In “Direct” mode all of the test set's outputs can be controlled individually
• With “Multimeter” the ten multifunctional inputs of CMC test sets can be used for analog
measurement 1
Output Functions
• Single-, two-, and three-phase fault calculation
• Direct control of test signals in magnitude, phase, and frequency
• Direct entering of impedances, power values, symmetrical components
• Units are switchable between primary/secondary, absolute/relative values, and seconds/cycles
