It is one of those bikes that will cause you to have a conversation with<br />
some passerby at every garage and outside every restaurant. It has a<br />
hugely alluring presence. The Sportster S makes the rider feel rock n roll<br />
and look rock n roll while being a thoroughly modern motorcycle. It’s what<br />
we’ve wanted from Harley for the last ten years, and, man, they have got<br />
it right.<br />
As usual, Stephan our photographer took a little spin. Heres what he says:<br />
I managed to steal the new Sportster from Donovan for a total of 5<br />
minutes. 5 sweet minutes.<br />
What I experienced was not what years of Harley Davidson pop culture<br />
has taught me. A futuristic yet modern design that still looks badass,<br />
a smooth and very powerful 1250cc state-of-the-art V-twin, and all the<br />
creature comforts of a brand new luxury car.<br />
I wish I could experience the old classic Sportsters to compare it to this<br />
brand new design.<br />
The engine, which I had experienced before on the mothership of a Pan-<br />
America, is mind-meltingly fast, especially so on the minimalist Sportster,<br />
and strangely smooth.<br />
One of the coolest bikes I’ve had the privilege to ride.<br />
