Remember as a member you can go to any network meeting just reserve your space with the 

director, this allows you to meet others that are part of our sisterhood as well as let them know 

who you are and what you do. All of our directors work hard to bring you great speakers and 

interesting meetings, you just need to make the commitment to SHOW UP.

We are looking forward to other new networks coming on board, we have someone in Atlanta 

Ga, Memphis Tenn, India and South Africa that we are talking to on doing a GSFE network. A 

big thank you to Board member Angeline Benjamin who is working with all the prospective new 

directors so that they can learn what we are about and just how the meetings are to be run as 

well as having them attend some meetings prior to approving them as a director, that way we 

can make sure they are the right fit for GSFE and we are the right fit for them. We still have as 

our goal for 2022, 1000 members by December 31st and if everyone spreads the word and shares 

our mission with others they know no matter where they live in the world we will easily achieve 

that goal. I totally believe it can happen. 

We had three amazing events in such a short time so look at the pages where Marcy Decato our 

newsletter editor has put all the information and pictures. 

Our tea and fashion show was a big success, thank you to my Kara Maldonado and Angelike 

Sunshine for a great job of hosting it and everyone else that was a part of the event, including 

our fantastic celebrity fashion designer Chebra Dorsey “Ochea”. 

We had the opportunity to be part of the SIMA Love Gala which brought women to Long Beach 

from London, Italy, Florida, Penna, Northern CA and New York as well as our ladies and gentlemen 

from Southern CA. Everyone said they loved the event, I want to thank my co-director Ilja 

Haverkorn who worked with me in putting it on and Jean Olexa who put all the baskets together 

and everyone else that helped us to make the event a success. 

It was such a joy to have our International guests for the SIMA LOVE GALA in California, I had the 

opportunity to host 8 of them in my home and it was a fantastic time, to get to know more about 

them and the great work that they are doing all over the world. 

On Monday after the SIMA event we did a LOANI (Ladies of all Nations International) event at Gigi 

Mindreau-Banks Home in Riverside, it was a tea to welcome our English guests as well as LOANI 

awards event see the photos in Red in the newsletter. Princess Barrette, Riverside member who 

is a chef and caterers all over the world did the food and it was a beautiful and amazing day. 

Feedback said it was one of the best teas they had ever been too. Thank you to all who helped 

make it a success, thank you GIGI for making your beautiful home available for the event. 

We also did the Celebration of Life for Dr Sharron Stroud in Palm Springs and her daughter Trish 

sends her thanks for all that we did, the desserts, tablecloths and SHOWING UP. Thank you for 

all that donated desserts and help set up the dessert tables we had a great array of desserts for 

people to select from. 

I want to thank everyone that came to all these events, helped with the event, and told their 

friends about them as none would not have been a big success without your help. 

Have you ever wanted to go to London and Italy? Well our International sisters are holding two 

events, one in London the end of August and the other in Italy the beginning of Sept, if you are 

interested contact me and I will share the information. 

We continue to add training events on line for our members and this year our GSFE conference 

will be done on line so that we can include everyone no matter where they are. GSFE Board 

member Angeline Benjamin is chairing that and is working on the flyer as we speak, our next

event after that will be our World Kindness Day Nov 13th and that will be chaired by GSFE 

Advisory Board member Joan E Wakeland and will be done at the Riverside Art Center and Joan 

is working on that event as we speak. 

We will continue to look for opportunities and other collaborations that we can be a part of to 

give our members exposure and help them to continue to soar to greatness. 

Our mission is to empower, inspire, mentor, educate and connect women to become successful 

entrepreneurs. We are also thrilled to see more of our members writing their books, many who 

are first time authors. GSFE is about helping YOU so be sure and never forget ASK as that is a 

very powerful word. 

We send Prayers to Michelle Bergquest CEO/Founder of Connected Women of Influence in the 

sudden death of her husband, she is a member also of our Oceanside GSFE network, and also 

prayers to Lynne Hartung in the loss of her husband, she is a member of the Menifee group. Also 

sending prayers to any of our other members who are sick, had surgery or lost a loved one. 

I am trying to catch up on everything since we have been so busy so until next month, keep 

SHOWING UP and ASKING.

Maryann Ridini Spencer started her career as a producer/writer in the Los Angeles Bureau of Cable News Network. During this time, she also began freelance writing for 

such publications as Los Angeles Magazine Soap Opera Digest. She later served as contributing writer to Desert Magazine, food and environmental sustainability print & 

video columnist to Ventura County Star, and lifestyle writer and Food Editor for Palm Springs Life. 

A former Director of Publicity for Miss Universe, Inc., and Senior Vice President of PR, Advertising, and Promotions for Stephen J. Cannell Productions and The Cannell 

Studios in Hollywood, Maryann founded Ridini Entertainment Corporation (REC), an award-winning PR, Marketing, and TV/Film Production Company, in 1990 to pursue

We had the fabulous MartAnn Rendini Spencer, we leaned so much about media and film. She 

was so knowledgeable and personable with our guest. She answered questions and gave 

information to questions we didn’t know we had. We were thankful to have and the valuable 

information. We were able to use the information right away for instance, I was able to 

implement a strategy that will allow me to turn my book into a screenplay. I’m so grateful to 

have had MarryAnn speak and teach use about media, social media and print.

March was a very busy month for GSFE 

Members. This month was filled with 

challenges, changes and consistency to 

make everyone aware how fragile life is. To 

be aware that we should focus on what really 

matters, to find out what is happening to 

our sister friends and not to be too quick to 

judge or assume. Let’s reach out and make 

positive impact where we can. 

Monthly, I share photos that I hope will allow 

you to stop for a brief moment and enjoy 

nature. This picture reminded me of Judy 

Garland and IZ singing “ Somewhere over 

the rainbow, way up high, There’s a land that I heard of once in a lullaby. Somewhere over the 

rainbow skies are blue And the dreams that you dare to dream, really do come thru.” I wish for 

everyone of you reading this that you will have your dreams manifested! 

Our Chapter did a second presentation that was part Zoom and part InPerson . We call it 

HYBRID! Attendance was equally attended by both platforms. Angelique Sunshine did a 

fantastic job. We will continue to do this monthly.

Joan Wakeland was an amazing speaker as always. She delivered such great wisdom on 

how to live a fearless life. She offered many useful tips on how to implement courageous 

action steps into our members lives. She shared wisdom from her own courageous life 

choices. Every member left the meeting with a great sense of direction and gratitude. I 

encourage all members to attend the Riverside meetings and other meetings that she is 

the guest speaker. We usually meet at the Blackbird tavern in Old town Temecula but this 

particular day the restaurant had to close for an unexpected event. I want to thank Robbie 

Motter for navigating the meeting and finding a new location for us to meet immediately 

and just in time before our normal meeting time. The location worked out very well as it 

was very close.

Kara Maldonado is the CEO/Founder of the Real Bodies Period, and an expert in pain management and weight loss management.

Greeting Everyone, 

The GSFE virtual network meets on the first Thursday of the month. This month we met on March 

3rd, 2022, with Caprice Crebar as our speaker. Caprice did a great presentation on the topic 

“Nurture Your Network.” We learned from Caprice’s presentation, the importance of nurturing our 

network if we want to turn our contacts into our customers. Caprice shared with us, the skills to 

attract grateful customers who in turn will refer us. Thank you, Caprice. 

In addition, I want to thank Joan Rudden-Ward for taking these great photos. She has been very 

supportive and remembers at every meeting to take our pictures together. Thank you, Joan.

Also last month, we had an educational workshop conducted by Deborah Thorne, the 

Information Diva exploring the functions of video platforms: Facebook Live, StreamYard, and 

Zoom. All registered attendees received a copy of the workshop video and a written plan of 

action that will help us to practice after the workshop ended. Thank you, Debra. 

Our speaker for the April 7th meeting is Debbie Love, a 4th 

Degree Black Belt and Certified Instructor in Karate. We look

members, Jill Lublin. 

Jill Lublin was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, with her sister 

and two brothers. 

After graduating from Wayne State University, Jill moved to 

California to go to law school, where she dropped out after a 

year. She found her true passion working in the music business as 

the Director of Publicity at four independent record labels.

Jill’s passion is helping messengers get their message out. Her 

hobbies are nature, enjoying sunsets into the ocean, friends and 

her cats. Pre-Pandemic she enjoyed traveling around the globe 

exploring wonderful countries and cultures, her last adventure 

taking her to Egypt and Petra, Jordan. 

Several years ago, while traveling to a speaking engagement, 

Jill broke both ankles – at the same time - and ended up in a 

wheelchair for 6 months. This forced her into creating a TV show 

focused on positive media called “Messages of Hope.” When 

Jill’s fourth book The Profit of Kindness was published, she was 

inspired to start a Kindness Community which now has over 250 

people. This has contributed to her offerings both personally and 

professionally.

for networking and leadership. Our group focuses on women helping women in life, 

business, while developing beautiful friendships!!

I am excited to announce our new youth GSFE network. The goal for this youth 

leadership program is to help high school girls to become active members in their 

community, become college bound and learn key life’s skills to be successful adults. 

The GSFE youth network will promote leadership, life skills and how to have a business 

mindset. 

Our monthly meetings will be held at 11am on the 3rd Sunday of every month. This 

allows for our international youth members to join our zoom meeting. 

Each month we will have GSFE speakers presenting on a verity of topics to help teach 

public speaking, networking, and providing service back to our communities. 

Each year we will have 4-6 in person “How To” events to help the girls learn basic 

business skills, organize community service projects, and earn leadership awards.

Greetings Everyone 

The Canadian Chapter of GSFE had an intimate but powerful connection during our March 

meeting. We want to thank our members Angeline Benjamin and Katherine Orho for joining and 

contributing to the growth of the Canada GSFE chapter. 

During our meeting, we learned more about one another when the question of “What has been 

your biggest accomplishment to date?” was answered. From writing a book to landing a sought 

after business role, it was clear to see that our GSFE members are very talented and determined 

to reach their goals. 

Laurie shared that Canada GSFE is going to focus on growing by asking each person to bring 

one person. With this great idea Canada GSFE will be exploding with members in no time! 

Our guest speaker was Angelique MacArthur, our GSFE Canada Co-Director. She gave a dynamic 

presentation on how to shift your thinking around your adulthood experience. She also shared 

powerful ways you can make changes in key areas of life to really thrive. Thank you Angelique 

once again for your amazing insights! 

Coming up on April 29th 2022 we meet at 11:00am PT. Everyone is welcome to join our meeting 

as we all are able to attend each other’s chapters. 

Also, our newest Canada GSFE member Sylvia Somervile will be our April guest speaker! Sylvia 

is an author, an artist and entrepreneur extraordinaire. She will share her lifetime of experiences

shares her experience of the courage it took to crash the set of the Blue Brothers in Niagara Falls

What’s better than acquiring one new customer? 

It sounds like a trick question, but the answer isn’t “acquiring two customers.” It’s actually 

retaining an existing customer. 

While there’s a certain allure that comes with capturing new customers, keeping 

customers coming back will continually result in a greater ROI — and it costs 5-25X less. 

In the next few issues I will give you examples of customer retention strategies that work. 

TIP #2: Implement a customer feedback loop.: 

It’s hard to improve your business if you don’t know how your customers feel about it. 

To start retaining customers, you need a process for obtaining customer feedback and 

sharing that information with the rest of your organization. This is where a customer 

feedback loop comes in. It provides a system for collecting, analyzing, and distributing 

customer reviews and surveys. 

There are a few ways to collect customer feedback. The most common way is with a 

survey like Net Promoter Score®, or you can ask customers to participate in user testing 

and focus groups. Using a few of these methods regularly should provide your team with 

ample and relevant customer feedback. 

Once you’ve gathered them, you should analyze your survey results by looking for trends 

in customer behavior and other areas to enhance user experience. Then, share this 

information with teams that will benefit from it most. 

For example, product reviews should be distributed to engineers and development teams 

so they can address flaws in your product’s design. By using this system to collect and 

share customer reviews, your business can efficiently address criticism and improve the 

customer experience.
