Horse Drawn Canal Boat & Marlborough

Step back in time with us, as we head first to one of our favourite stopping places,

Marlborough. This archetypal English Market town has that 'film location' quality and is a

great spot to stroll around and enjoy a nice lunch. In the afternoon we head to nearby

Kintbury and board the 'Kennet Valley' horse drawn barge for a 2 ½ hour cruise along the

beautiful Kennet & Avon Canal. This wide beam passenger boat was purpose built for carrying

Wow! Undoubtably one of the best National Trust properties we have visited. Located in the

Oxfordshire Cotswolds with extensive grounds, Buscot Park is the family home of Lord

Faringdon. Built in the Italianate country houses style, the estate has a fascinating history

which has left the estate with a remarkable legacy. There is a variety of attractions - from

formal gardens to woodlands. There are plenty of lovely viewpoints and a selection of

architectural sculptures adds interest to your visit. The house does not disappoint and houses

the wonderful Faringdon Collection of fine paintings and furniture collected over a century.

Having started life as a priory, Mottisfont, near Romsey, was transformed over the years in

to a lovely country home surrounded by a large estate and parkland. Maud Russell made

extraordinary drawing-room was painted by artist Rex Whistler. Enjoy a stroll along the

site has 50 buildings to explore and many are exhibit houses, furnished to recreate historic domestic interiors. There are different domestic

Royal Ascot

Come along to one of the most glamourous events in the British Sporting calendar with a

chance to enjoy the superb racing. Today there are three Group One races – the Queen

Anne Stakes, the King’s Stand Stakes and the St James’s Palace Stakes which often attracts

This spectacular 17th century baroque mansion is situated in South Gloucestershire, not

far from Bristol. Surrounded by a stunning 274 acres of rolling parkland offering lovely

views of the house and beyond. The house is renowned for an ancient herd of over 200

fallow dear. From the founder William Blathwayt, the house has a remarkable history and

has many Dutch influences - there is a fine collection of paintings, wall hangings, furniture

Horse Drawn Canal Boat & Marlborough

Step back in time with us, as we head first to one of our favourite stopping places,

Marlborough. This archetypal English Market town has that 'film location' quality and is a

great spot to stroll around and enjoy a nice lunch. In the afternoon we head to nearby

Kintbury and board the 'Kennet Valley' horse drawn barge for a 2 ½ hour cruise along the

beautiful Kennet & Avon Canal. This wide beam passenger boat was purpose built for

carrying passengers. Facilities onboard include a well stocked bar serving tea, coffee, soft

Places are strictly limited so please book early for this rare opportunity to see the acclaimed gardens of HRH Prince Charles, located near Tetbury in

the beautiful Cotswolds. Designed to embody the Prince’s environmental philosophy, there a wide variety of interlinking habitats including The Wild

Flower Meadow, The Sundial Garden, The Cottage Garden and much more. We have booked a tour of the gardens led by one of the garden guides,

which lasts approximately two hours. Visitors with walking difficulties should book with caution. Afterwards there will be time for refreshments in the

Orchard Restaurant and visiting the Highgrove Estate shop. You may like to bring a packed lunch. Photo ID required. Only £60.00
