years flew past us as quick as a lightning, but this is only

how it seems from the outside. Living together the often

very tough moments of the past almost two years, we know

exactly that this period was pretty difficult for all of us. As

a result of the global pandemic our lives were turned upside

down, but we knew that we could not give up our dreams and we have

to survive, whatever life might throw at us. The seemimgly simple

everyday hindrances sometimes towered as giant walls in front of us

in this peculiar situation, but we can be proud that we managed to

overcome these. It is something huge that under these circumstances

we managed to hold the carp angling competition which developed

into the world’s biggest one - even if not at the planned dates. The

IBCC has never lost its momentum. New records were broken and

finally there was a catch over 30 kg and I’m sure that this one will be

followed by many.

Looking back it seems a very long time, since we met for the first

time, because some of you are here from the very first minutes.

This competition, this challenge means a lot to you too, since

notwithstanding any difficulties it attracts similarly thinking people

believing in the same values. It does not matter from which part of the

world you arrive, the language we all speak, that of carp angling, is

our common language holding us together.

Spring is always the start of something new. After two years we can

finally meet again freely and at the usual dates.

év repült el mellettünk villámgyorsan, ami viszont csak

így távolról tűnik suhanásnak. Közösen megélve az elmúlt,

közel két esztendő sokszor nehéz pillanatait, pontosan

tudjuk, hogy ez az időszak senkinek nem volt egyszerű.

A világjárvány következtében teljesen felfordult az életünk,

de tudtuk, hogy nem adhatjuk fel az álmaink, és túl kell éljük, bármit is

sodor elénk az élet. A hétköznapok egyszerűnek tűnő akadályai, ebben

a különös helyzetben sokszor óriási falakként emelkedtek elénk, de

büszkék lehetünk rá, hogy sikerült legyűrni ezeket. Óriási dolog, hogy

ebben a kiélezett helyzetben, - ugyan nem a tervezett időpontokban

- de sikerült megrendezni, a mostanra a világ legnagyobbjává vált

pontyhorgász versenyt. Az IBCC lendülete semmit sem veszített.

Új rekordok dőltek meg és végre egy 30 kilogramm feletti óriást is

fogtak, amit biztos vagyok benne, hogy újabb és újabb követ majd.

Visszatekintve oly hosszúnak tűnik az idő, ami eltelt azóta, hogy

először találkoztunk, mert bizony közületek sokan az első percek

óta itt vagytok velünk. Számotokra is sokat jelent ez a verseny, ez

a megmérettetés, amely minden nehezítő körülmény ellenére is

maga köré vonzza az azonos gondolkodású embereket, akik ugyan

azokat az értékeket vallják. Mindegy, hogy a világ melyik tájáról is

érkezzetek, a nyelv amit beszélünk közös, a pontyhorgászaté, ami

összetart minket.

A tavasz, mindig valami újnak a kezdete. Két év után végre újra a

megszokott időszakban találkozhatunk, szabadon.

Only six months have passed since the last IBCC,

but finally the world’s biggest carp angling competition can go back

to the original April date. The fish stock of Lake Balaton is growing

in a spectacular way and so this year we count on several 30+ kg

catches. Since we will hold the competition in April we have every

chance to have great records again.

de végre visszatérhet a Világ legnagyobb pontyfogó versenye, az

eredeti áprilisi időpontra. A Balaton halállománya látványosan

növekszik, így az idei évben, már több 30 kg feletti fogásra számítunk.

Gyakorlatilag minden lehetőség adott az áprilisi időpontnak

köszönhetően, hogy idén is hatalmas rekordok születhessenek.

In 2022 we have introduced a revolutionary novelty, which is the

GPS system, thanks to which we made the competition cleaner, more

transparent and more controllable.

As organiser and as head marshal I wish you fair and safe

competition and a lot of fish! And I would like to ask everyone to

behave on the shore as a human being and to take good care of the

fish caught.

In return the Hungarian sea, Lake Balaton will

give you back the experience...

A 2022-es évben egy forradalmi újítást vezettünk be, ez nem

más, mint a GPS rendszer, melynek köszönhetően még tisztábbá,

átláthatóbbá, ellenőrizhetőbbé tettük a versenyt.

Versenyszervezőként, és vezető versenybíróként sportszerű és

biztonságos versenyzést, és sok halat kívánok Nektek! És szeretnék

megkérni Mindenkit, viselkedjen emberként a vízparton, és a kifogott

halakkal kellő figyelemmel, odafigyeléssel bánjatok.

Together for the eighth time, once

again in the spring on Lake Balaton!

Right after the full-time whistle of the last two, untraditional

IBCCs many have immediately started to plan the new

participation and in addition to that an angling season on

interest to protect the results we have achieved and to secure

further development. A guarantee for that are the host of the

competition, the Balatoni Halgazdálkodási Nonprofit Zrt. as

a special member of MOHOSZ, as well as the organizer, a

diamond partner of the Angling Federation and also its most

significant media partner.

Mi, horgászok egy nagy csapat vagyunk, így közös

érdekünk az elért eredmények megvédése, a további

fejlődés biztosítása. Erre garancia a verseny házigazdája,

a Balatoni Halgazdálkodási Nonprofit Zrt., mint a MOHOSZ

speciális jogállású tagja, valamint a szervező, mint a

horgászszövetség gyémánt fokozatú támogatója, egyben

legjelentősebb médiapartnere.

Lake Balaton promising ever more record-breaking carps.

Thanks to the effective pandemic measures in Hungary as

well as the much expected and hoped subsiding of the virus

situation we could “catch our breath” again and thus we are

back to the old way insofar that we could organize the world’s

biggest carp angling competition at the beginning of

the spring carp angling season. This is

also very important, because in Hungary

there is still a special focus on angling

and on the sport angling and thus

it was maybe no coincidence that

the angling-tourism and angling

products commerce sectors could

develop further in 2021.

It is a common result of new and

favourable legal regulations and

changes in administrative services,

such as e.g. the online sale of

territorial tickets, online purchase,

enrolling to competitions, online

exams, but also that of a different

approach in society to spending our free

time due to the world pandemic, that we

have more than 750,000 registered anglers

in Hungary, which is - compared to the number

of inhabitants - a really significant number also at

European level.

therefore among the many usage forms and interests we

would like to achieve that fishing gets the attention it needs in

the future, too. For this plan it is absolutely necessary to have

a responsible fish protection, to use the shores’ environment

as intended, to ensure order and cleanliness and to respect

each other in the spirit of fair play. In order to

be able to achieve this the competition

rules are continuously updated too and

also in the future we will try to do

everything possible for making

the competition to be about the

sport and the performances. It is

the joint responsibility of all the

teams competing here to show

the real values of sport fishing

to the world, to anglers and nonanglers

alike and we would like

to ask for your support in this

mission.

It is well worth to point out again:

the IBCC is the world’s biggest

carp angling competition. We hope

that it will continue to stand for real

quality and fair play and thus to bring

the fame of Hungary, of Lake Balaton and

of the Hungarian gastronomy to everywhere

in the world. We wish you success, endurance

and nice memories and - of course - let us continue

to take care of each other! These days the “Hungarian sea”

shall be ours again in an unclouded way...

A Balaton azonban nem „csak” horgászvíz, így a számos

hasznosítási forma között, a szerteágazó hasznosítói

érdekek tengerében szeretnénk, ha a horgászat a jövőben is

megkapná itt azt a figyelmet melyet meg- és kiérdemel. E

tervhez elengedhetetlenül szükséges a felelős halvédelem,

a vízparti környezet okszerű használata, a rend és a

tisztaság biztosítása, a fair play jegyében

egymás kölcsönös tisztelete. Ennek

érdekében folyamatosan módosul a

versenyszabályzat is, s mindent

megteszünk annak érdekében,

hogy a verseny a sportról, a

teljesítményekről szóljon a

jövőben is. Valamennyi itt szereplő

csapat közös felelőssége a

sporthorgászatban rejlő valódi

értékek megmutatása a világnak,

horgásznak és nem horgásznak

egyaránt, mely küldetéshez kérjük

mindenki támogatását.

Érdemes újra megemlíteni: az IBCC a

világ legnagyobb pontyfogó versenye.

Reményeink szerint továbbra is a

valódi minőséget, s a sportszerűséget

megtestesítve viszi majd Magyarország,

benne a Balaton és a magyar vendéglátás

jó hírét is szerte a világban. Sok sikert, kitartást

és szép élményeket kívánunk – s persze továbbra

is vigyázzunk egymásra! Legyen a „Magyar tenger” e pár

napban felhőtlenül újra a miénk…

It is good to see in the everyday praxis what a significant

demand there is in Hungary for sport fishing, for recreation

on shores or even for competitions requiring actual sporting

performance. And if we talk about competitions, it is a joyful

fact that the world’s No. 1. competition in our freshwater

section, the IBCC, which is an international “flagship” of

longer boilie fishing competitions is a real and authentic

country image.

Jó dolog a mindennapi gyakorlatban látni, hogy

Magyarországon milyen jelentős társadalmi igény van a

sporthorgászatra, a vizek partján történő kikapcsolódásra,

vagy éppen a valódi sportteljesítményt megkövetelő

versenyzésre is. Ha már versenyzés, akkor pedig örömteli

tény, hogy az édesvízi szakágakban nemzeti horgászsportunk

jelenleg világelső, még az IBCC, a hosszú időtávú behúzósbojlis

versenyek nemzetközi „zászlóshajója” továbbra is

As of 2018 we started our site boiliebalaton.hu dealing

exclusively with fishing with boilies. Here you can find all

information related to the exercise of this fishing technique.

There are several places for carp anglers, which can also

be booked in the summer season. And their number is

continuously growing. Before the beginning of the angling

one must log in on this surface. On our site you

can find news, catches, experiences

from competitions, angling rules

and regulations and many more

useful information.

And it is naturally still

possible to exercise this type

of angling without preliminary

booking, on free or private

shores. In this case you have

to ask the local municipality of

the given township or the person

responsible, the owner about the conditions

for the stay (in tent). For this type of angling we offer

two alternatives for territorial tickets: for three days and for

a week.

The tickets can be bought personally in every locality around

the lake or even online. Since 2015, when this type of fishing

has started on Lake Balaton many-many 20+ kg carps have

been photographed in all three basins of the lake and this is

a proof that the Hungarian Sea is inhabited by countless big

species. We recommend you to have a look at the “record

list”. In 2020 the official carp record was broken with 32.22

kg. Last year was once again a year, in which a lot of huge

specimens have been caught, and the chances are

good that it will be the same this year, too... We had

many over 20 and 25 kg, but we have also seen a

few 30+ fish! We hope that this year we will have

the second catch of the competition above 30 kg.

We hope to have awaken the interests of every

single carp angler and we are looking forward

to seeing you on the shores as soon as

possible!

2018-tól elindult a boiliebalaton.hu oldalunk, amely

kizárólag a behúzós horgászattal foglalkozik. Itt minden

információ megtalálható, ami a módszer gyakorlásához

kötődik. Több olyan hely áll már a Pontyhorgászok

rendelkezésére, amelyek nem csak a fürdőszezonon kívül

foglalhatóak. A számuk folyamatos bővülés alatt áll. A

horgászat megkezdése előtt a bejelentkezést

is ezen a felületen kell megtenni. Hírek,

fogások, a versenyek tapasztalatai,

horgászrend és sok más hasznos

információ található meg az

oldalunkon.

Természetesen továbbra

is lehetőség van előre foglalás

nélkül a szabad vagy magán

partszakaszokon behúzós

horgászatra. Ebben az esetben

az adott település önkormányzatánál,

vagy a magánterülethez tartozó illetékes

személynél/tulajdonosnál kell megérdeklődni az

életvitelszerű tartózkodással (sátorozás) kapcsolatos

feltételeket. A behúzós területi jegyekből két féle alternatívát

kínálunk: három napost és hetit.

A jegyeket a Balaton körül minden településen

személyesen, vagy akár online is meg lehet váltani. A

balatoni behúzós bojlis horgászat 2015-ös elindulása óta

rengeteg 20 kg feletti ponty került a fényképezőgépek lencséi

elé a Balaton mindhárom medencéjében, ez ékes bizonyítéka

annak, hogy a magyar tengert számtalan nagytestű példány

lakja. Ajánljuk megtekintésre a „rekordlistát” 2020-ban

megdőlt a hivatalos balatoni pontyrekord, amely 32,22

kg volt. Tavaly is nagyon sok kapitális egyedet fogtak a

Balatonra látogató horgászok, nagy eséllyel idén sem lesz

másképp... 20 és 25 kg felettiek akadtak szép számmal,

de 30+-osból sem volt hiány! Bízunk abban, hogy

az idei megmérettetésen megszületik a verseny

történetének második 30 kg feletti fogása.

Reméljük minden pontyhorgásznak felkeltettük

az érdeklődését és mihamarabb találkozunk a

vízparton!

The First Sport Angling Center on Lake Balaton

welcomes its guests in Keszthely since 2019. The facility

has been built in the southern part of the town, directly on

the shore, offering a unique panorama onto Lake Balaton.

The visitors arriving here can enjoy angling tourism services

in our facility which are incomparable on the Hungarian Sea

(Lake Balaton). It is a real novelty that you can use boats with

the apartments.

Our previous port had a major face-lift in 2020 and here

we have our electric Linder boats equipped with Torqueedo

engines, which help our guests to explore the surrounding

reeds and to test their skills farther offshore.

At request we can also provide you with an expert angling

guide.

But not only anglers can find accommodation in the

sixteen apartments of our facility. In the summer families

and friends populate the area of 1 ha, which is an excellent

holiday venue and the starting point of many excursions. In

our public port you can rent spots for sailing boats and we

also have extra spots available for guests.

Our further services include:

• Storage rooms for safely storing angling equipment

next to the apartments

• Rooms for cleaning fish

• Freezers for the fish caught

• BBQ possibilities

• Parking possibilities in the closed courtyard

• Possibility to purchase area tickets on the spot

2019 óta várja a vendégeit Keszthelyen az Első Balatoni

Sporthorgász Centrum. A komplexum a város déli részén,

közvetlenül a vízparton épült fel páratlan panorámát nyújtva

a Balatonra. Az ide érkezők a magyar tengeren egyedülálló

horgászturisztikai szolgáltatásokat vehetnek igénybe a

létesítményben. Igazi nóvum, hogy az apartmanokhoz

csónakhasználat is jár.

A korábbi kikötőnk 2020-ban komoly ráncfelvarráson

esett át, itt kaptak helyet az elektromos, Torqueedo motorral

szerelt Linder csónakok, melyek abban segítik vendégeinket,

hogy felfedezzék a környék nádasait, tudásukat a parttól

távolabbi vizeken is kipróbálhassák. Igény esetén

szakképzett horgászvezető is kérhető.

A létesítmény tizenhat apartmanjában azonban nem

csupán a pecások találnak szálláslehetőséget. Nyáron

családok, baráti társaságok népesítik be az egyhektáros

területet, amely kiváló nyaralóhely, kirándulások

kiindulópontja.

Közforgalmú kikötőnkben vitorláshelyek bérelhetők és

vendéghelyek is rendelkezésre állnak.

The Balatoni Halgazdálkodási Np. Zrt. has been carrying out fish

marking research for quite a few years. As a result of this research, we

now know more about the wandering habits of the fish stocked, their

growth as well as the recatch rhythm of the population stocked. There

was a carp of three summers stocked in Balatonkenese which has

been caught a week later in Keszthely. At the IBCC we have also seen

marked fish being caught. The biggest marked and caught fish in the

course of the competition weighed approx. 16 kg.

THE WAVY BALATON

A hullámzó balaton

The dominant wind direction is blowing at an angle of 90 degrees to the Lake Balaton from the north-west. It is a special

effect of the surrounding hills and valleys that they produce a kind of pulsation in the wind resulting in sudden waves and wavefree

periods. After the wind beats up the waves the water surface needs two hours to be flat again.

hogy egyfajta lüktetést idéznek elő a szélben, ami hirtelen hullámzást és hullámmentes időszakot okoz. A vízfelületnek két óra kel,

Lake Balaton has 155 000 permanent

inhabitants. In the summer months this number

is doubled. This region is touristically one of

the most important ones in Hungary. Not only

Hungarians like it here, but the German tourists,

too.

In its history so far, the lake has dried up more than once. There were times however, when the water level was 10 m higher

than now. In 1867 the water level was so low that one could easily walk over from the north shore to the south shore. There were

times, when the people looked at the lake with different eyes than now, e.g. Maria Theresia wanted to have it drained in order to

create agricultural land, but luckily they could not make this happen.

would think because of the muddy

decks, but the water quality is actually

quite excellent. Lake Balaton has one of

Europe’s cleanest water mirror.

A Balatoni Halgazdálkodási Np. Zrt. évek óta haljelöléses

vizsgálatokat végez a Balatonon. Ezek eredményeként jobban

megismertük a telepített halak vándorlási szokásait, a halak

növekedését, a telepített állományok visszafogási ritmusát.

Feljegyeztek olyan háromnyaras pontyot, amit Balatonkenesén

telepítettek be és egy hét múlva Keszthelyen fogták ki.

Az IBCC-n is volt példa arra, hogy jelölt halat fogtak a versenyzők. A

legnagyobb, megjelölt visszafogott ponty a versenyen közel 16 kg volt.

It is different from place to place how fast a carp can grow to reach a weight over 20 kg. The rhythm of the growth depends

on the genetic background, the food available as well as the particularities of the habitat. In 2018 a record breaking 30 kg carp has

been caught on Lake Balaton and the experts thought that it could have been ca. 25 years old, but the 32 kg mirror carp caught in

2020 was younger even if bigger.

ellátottságától és az élőhelyi sajátosságoktól. Egy 2018-ban kifogott 30 kg-os balatoni pontyrekordról a szakemberek úgy vélik,

is a gale warning system based on weather forecast and

consisting of 24 stations. The alarm gives the following light

signals:

LEVEL 1 - Uninterrupted flashing yellow light with a rate of

45 flashes/minute, meaning that a strong breeze with a wind

speed of approx. 45 km/h (Bo6) is expected within 3 hours.

LEVEL 2 - Uninterrupted flashing yellow light with a rate of

90 flashes/minute, meaning that gale with a wind speed of

at least 60 km/h (Bo7 or above) is expected within half an

founded in 2003 by Vladut Mateianu and Andrei Vladeanu,

double world vice champions of carp fishing. The company

The Senzor Planet sector is the easternmost sector on the north shore of Lake

Balaton, from Balatonalmádi to the border of the middle basin. It is a long sector

of approximately 20 km with deck depressions typical for the northern shore. The

peculiarity of the sector is the deepest point of the lake, situated near Tihany with

a depth of approximately 11 m. Here we have the smallest geographical distance

between the northern and the southern shores and a continuous ferry service. Thanks

to the winds, Lake Balaton streams in its length and due to the narrow passage, this

is even stronger here. This means that serious streams could be formed between

the basins and because of this – based on the experiences of the teams fishing here

previously – pretty big weights are needed to stop the terminal tackles. Thus, it is

not easy to catch fishes in this sector, but we had a competition where the biggest

fish was caught here. In 2021 the Cereales boilies Team weighed a 30.15 kg carp in

Tihany and that was the biggest fish the IBCC.

Boilies Fermented Anchovy is the leading edge

in development and production of modern baits.

Unlike other boilies they do not contain common

fish meals but fermented fish pastes, special

fish products, bird foods and liquid fish foods.

Fermented fish products leak attractors into

the water column very effectively and carps

adore them. Therefore these boilies are so

attractive and successful in carpfishing. The only

preservative agent in fermented pastes is the

salt which is the reason why a white coating may

appear on the balls; it is natural and means no

problem. These boilies are year-round effective

both on large venues and rivers.

Jet Fish was established in 1990 as a producer of boilies,

hook-baits and fish food. Since the very beginning we focus

The border of the middle basin is the Tihany-peninsula. From here we count the beginning of the Jet Fish sector stretching

towards West. Even though we slowly move away from the narrowest and deepest part of the lake, the streams can still be felt here. In

this sector the teams might be the happiest with the spots around Zánka. The anglers can have pretty nice catches here and in the IBCC

we have seen many nice ones in these parts. We can find deeper decks with mussel beds relatively near to the shore, and this could

be significant, if due to the storm warning only casting fishing is allowed. This is considered one of the strongest parts of the northern

shore stretching to the western basin. Whether spring or autumn, exceptional

catches can be found here. In 2020 the team Szepezdi Extrém Sportszövetség

caught a 26.10 kg carp which seemed to be the biggest of the competition for

a long time, until the biggest of the history of IBCC was caught on the southern

shore in the last hour of the competition. But in addition to this the sector has

seen many more memorable fish playings and triumphs. The 23.6 kg carp caught

by Tibor Tulipán in Révfülöp is e.g. unforgettable, since it was the biggest of the

IBCC in 2015 and was put in the net in the very last minutes. It is also a historical

site, because the first IBCC was won from here, from Ábrahámhegy. In 2017 a

Hungarian team triumphed here at the feet of Badacsony and in 2019 Deepex

Lithuania was the overall No. 1 in this sector, in Badacsonyörs with 629.81 kg.

continuously since 2015. The idea of creating the system

was born during my trips around Europe. I needed a tool for

a simple and quick search for fisheries. The problems with

booking, no telephone contact with the fishery, the need to

write or call for the trip confirmation – all these difficulties I

Here we find the most significant inlet, the river Zala carrying a huge amount of food. It is not by chance that according to

the experts here we have one of the biggest fish density. The teams of the 2018 IBCC could see that very clearly with the winning

team Starbaits Slovakia catching more than 1300 kg of carps above 5 kg in the forest of Balatonszentgyörgy, which is the absolute

record in total weight. The second placed teams came from this sector in both 2019 and 2020, and the 2021 the Sirius team won the

competition. Therefore, it is a very popular sector in the IBCC.

Itt található a legjelentősebb befolyó a Zala, ami igen nagy mennyiségű tápanyagot szállít ide. Nem véletlen, hogy a szakemberek

szerint itt az egyik legnagyobb a halsűrűség. Erről a 2018-as IBCC mezőnye is meggyőződhetett, amikor a Balatoszentgyörgyi

erdőben több mint 1300 kg, 5 kg-nál nagyobb pontyot fogott a győztes Starbaits Slovakia, ami az eddigi abszolút rekord a fogott súly

tekintetében. 2019 és 2020-ban is ez a szektor adta a verseny második helyezettjét, 2021-ben pedig itt nyert a Sirius Team. Tehát igen

kedvelt szektora ez az IBCC mezőnyének.

Michal Kučera, owner and director of Mikbaits,

presents the new boilie ManiaQ – Salted Herring.

ManiaQ – Salted Herring is very attractive boilie with

the strongest and the most natural taste, we have ever

produced. Creating that boilie, we pushed on diversity,

strong natural taste and immediate effectiveness, keeping

it solid enough. It contains as much natural ingredients,

as possible. Many of those may never have been used in

manufacture of the boilie before. It contains the fish meat

from Salted Herrings, Anchovies, enzymatic soluble fish

meals, krill, kelp, chilli, Robin Red, GLM extract, liver extracts,

Belachan and other top class ingredients… It doesn´t contain

not even 1 g of volume ingredients, such as semolina, soya

etc. Also the used liquid components are the best you can

find, such as Salted fish protein L030, Salted Herring oil, or

concentrates from Anchovies and Salted Herrings. Most of

those ingredients are not for standard sale and we use it only

for production of this boilie, so it remains so unique. Despite

the Salted herring boilie is solid enough, similar to Gangster

and Fanatica, it works almost immediately after throwing

into the water, because of natural food signals. Basically, one

doesn´t need to wait for fish to get to use to it. While testing,

it sometimes happened, we had the runs just minutes after

throwing into the water and often from very big carp. Many

of our testers have landed their personal bests using that

boilie. My PB was the first fishing with that boilie and it was

increased by more than 6 kg, by carp over 31 kg from Czech

public water. It also brings many runs from middle range

of carp, which is great for competition like IBCC, where we

successfully used it last year. It was also very effective on

other different types of waters. So, in the end, it can be used

basically everywhere, all-year round, also in very low water

temperature. It works with small amount of bait, but from

our experience, the more you bait, the better, faster and more

effective it is.

If you find for solid boilie, but still very attractive and

catchy, you can stop finding now.

Ingredients: Fish and enzymatic meals 36 %,

attractants 26,5 %, bird foods 18 %,

milk and egg proteins 15 %, natural powder extracts 4,5 %,

Ultra flavours, liquid foods, essential oils, fish meat, feed

stimulants, liquid preservative, fresh eggs.

If anywhere, a great part of the IBCC teams would be happy with a draw here in the Mikbaits sector. Probably we never had a

competition without a good chance of winning the overall competition for a team fishing in this sector. But Lake Balaton does not give

the success easily. Here we have serious obstacles below the surface, causing many lost catches, on the other hand this varying deck

provides lots of food for the significant fish density. In 2020 three of the first five teams of the Top 5 competition were competing here

and the first placed overall also came from here. The 26.05 kg carp caught in 2017 on the IBCC in Fonyód on the Árpád sétány was the

biggest one for three years. And even though this title has been taken from this sector by another locality, the chances are good that

the record will be broken here.

Ha valahová, akkor a Mikbaits szektorba biztosan szívesen sorsolna az IBCC mezőnyének jelentős része. Talán még nem is volt

olyan verseny, ahol ne lett volna a végső győzelemre is esélyes azok között akik ezen a szakaszon horgásztak. De a sikert itt sem

adja könnyen a Balaton. A felszín alatt sokszor komoly akadók tarkítják a pályát, sok halvesztést okozva, viszont pont ez a változatos

mederalakulat az, ami a bőséges táplálék forrást biztosít az igen komoly halsűrűségnek. A 2020-as top5 verseny első 5 helyezettjéből

három is ebben a szektorban versenyzett, és az abszolút első hely is innen került ki. Az IBCC-n 2017-ben Fonyódon, az Árpád-parti

sétányon fogott 26.05-kg-os ponty volt három évig a legnagyobb. Bár ezt a címet azóta már egy másik település elvette a szektortól,

mégis jó esély van rá, hogy az újabb rekord majd itt születik meg.

TB Baits is a new brand of the Tomáš Blažek &

Friends brand founded by the well-known carp angler

Tomáš Blažek. TB Baits focuses on its own production

and development of carp baits. The original products of the

brand were specially focused on trophy carp fishing.

Today, the product range is expanded to include

products for all situations, both short and long trips. In the

The sight of Lake Balaton is a pleasure from anywhere, but the

most beautiful view is probably from the southern shore onto the

volcanic hills on the northern shore. This is very good, if we have no

bites, but in this sector with a little luck the teams can only count on

very few hours of aimless wondering. In 2020 in Balatonboglár e.g.

we had very nice results with the biggest fish of the competition so

far, a 28.95 carp by Alexander Tóth.

A Balaton látványa mindenhonnan felüdülést nyújt, de a

legszebb talán mégis a déli-partról nyílik az északi oldal vulkanikus

hegyeinek irányába. Ez sem elhanyagolható tény, mondjuk

kapástalan időszakban, de ebben a szektorban egy kis szerencsével

csak kevés ilyen, céltalan nézelődéssel eltöltött órára számíthatnak

a csapatok. Balatonboglár például 2020-ban igen szépen szerepelt,

itt fogták a verseny történetének eddigi legnagyobb halá, Alexander

Tóth 28.95 kg-os óriását.

Az egyik legrégebbi, a gyökereihez hű, cseh cég,

amely a pontyozó csalik gyártására szakosodott. A My

This sector is in the middle basin of the southern shore of Lake Balaton. Its easternmost part is pretty near to the straits between

the Tihany peninsula and Szántód, where the streams can sometimes be really strong. Let’s not forget that on the northern shore

the water can flow at a pace of up to 2 m/sec resulting in a very special situation in this area. As far as catches are concerned,

Balatonföldvár has already proved itself. In 2018 a team fishing here caught more than 800 kg of valid fish. In 2019 in Balatonszárszó

we also had a 20+ kg carp at the IBCC. But of course, we need teams here who can master the seemingly complicated situations.

Ez a szektor már a Balaton déli partjának középső

medencéjében helyezkedik el. A legkeletibb része már igen

közel van a Tihanyi Félsziget és Szántód közötti szoroshoz,

ahol a víz áramlása esetenként jelentősen felerősödhet.

Ne feledjük, a túlparton akár másodpercenként 2 méteres

sebességgel is folyhat a víz, ami különleges helyzetet

teremthet ezen a részen is. Halfogás szempontjából

Balatonföldvár már bizonyított. 2018-ban egy ott horgászó

csapat több mint 800 kg értékelhető halat mérlegelt.

2019- ben Balatonszárszón például 20-kg fölötti pontyot

is mérlegeltek azt IBCC-n. Ehhez persze az is kell, hogy

olyan csapat kerüljön ide, aki meg tudja oldani a nem éppen

egyszerűnek tűnő helyzetet. De mindig van ilyen, 2021-ben

például Balatonföldváron egy 24.72 kg-os ponty akadt a

horogra.

This sector – the easternmost of the southern shore – is also full of challenges for the teams. Only seldom did this spot pay off

and that is why it seemed a small kind of miracle when the team of László Ocsovai in 2020 caught 3 pieces of 20+ kg carps in Siófok-

Sóstó. For the locals, of course, it is no novelty that there are some giants here, but it is a fact that more precise and more fearless

fishing is required here from the teams. No need to get depressed though, because endurance can not only bring results, but also a

TOP10 or even better result is possible for the teams fishing here.

Interview with the anglers who caught the first 30+ kg carp of the IBCC

Since the beginning of the IBCC we have been waiting and in 2021 it finally happened and

the first carp over 30 kg has been caught. The Romanian Cereal Boilies team fishing on the

alley next to the port in Tihany was the first team, which managed to pull off this feat, proving

that anyone can have this kind of luck, but you also must work for it. We have asked Emilian

Paraschiv, David Nicusor, Economu Tudorel and Neatu Velentin about their feelings and the

huge 30+ kg carp.

Tihany is a special place at Lake

Balaton. Geographically it lies where

the two basins of the lake meet. The

distance between the north shore and

the south shore is the shortest here and

this is also the deepest part of the lake.

Those who know Lake Balaton well do

also know that here the anglers can be

confronted with really strong currents.

Knowing this what kind of feelings did

you have at the draw?

After the peg draw, we set out to have a look at

the part of the shore drawn which was not far

from the hotel complex where the draw was

held. Our peg was right next to the alley, where

there was a lot of traffic, but that was the spot

where we counted on having big specimens.

At previous competitions we have already

experienced the port’s traffic and we knew that

we will only have bites in the night and this was

exactly the case with this catch over 30 kg. We

knew already what our tactics is going to be

and it was obvious that we could go for one of

the top 5 spots.

To catch the biggest fish of a

competition is a special kind of success,

but it is a little bit like the lottery draw,

because you can never know who is

going to catch the biggest one. But you

also have to do something for your luck,

in such a competition you have to put

the right bait in the hook. How did you

manage to catch the first 30+ kg carp of

the IBCC?

On the second night of the competition I woke

up at around 3 a.m. and I was talking to a

member of another Romanian team on the

phone. I tried to encourage them and boost

their confidence in saying that sooner or later

they will have a huge specimen. Obviously, we

were also waiting for the eagerly anticipated

fish. The bait alarm went off at 5:30 a.m. for the

first time, my heartrate jumped immediately,

and I went straight to the rod. I lifted it up and

the fish started to reel off the line. I put the rod

back on its holder and brought the radio unit of

the bait alarm into the tent of my colleagues to

wake them up. After putting on the chest wader

I got into the boat and the fish playing could

begin. I first glimpsed the fish 20 minutes later

and I knew immediately that I have a big one.

I estimated it to be a 20+ kg, but as time went

by, I was ever surer that this is even bigger and

after another 15 minutes I could finally put it

into the net. On the shore we already had the

marshals at our peg. Only on the weighing mat

could we realize how big the fish really is, and

the scale showed 30.4 kg and we were over

the moon. It was really like a dream. The carp

came from a distance of 350 m, from a solid

deck, where the boats turn. As a bait we used

two 24 mm boilies with squid and plum flavour.

The people standing on the shore were

amazed by the sheer size of this beauty.

We were lucky enough to see many

big fish, but this was special not only

because of its weight. What comes into

your mind when you look at the photos

now?

The immense joy, the happiness and the smile

on our face. This is why we can’t wait to come

again to Lake Balaton.

Did you know that this fish has already

been caught and weighed in a previous

IBCC?

We did not know this, we only heard about

that later and this made it even more special.

Luckily they do hide, but they are active and

they eat big boilies which indicates their size.

There are many really big ones in the Lake

Balaton, this is for sure.

You have been to many big competitions.

What makes the IBCC different?

I fished at several competitions with this

fishing method in Italy, France and Romania,

but no other competition can be compared

to the IBCC, because this is like the world

championships, where 250 teams fight for

glory. Lake Balaton is kind of the sea of carps.

The fish population mix is optimal, there is fish

almost all around the lake, but they constantly

move around, which makes this competition

difficult, but all the more exciting. We are

sure that you can win this competition from

every peg, even in the last two days of the

competition and I’m also sure that we can

never know what we might have on our hooks.

It could be a 30+ kg or even a 40+ kg carp.

Különös helyszíne Tihany a

Balatonnak. Földrajzilag a tó két

medencéjének találkozásában

helyezkedik el. Itt a legkisebb a távolság

a déli és az északi part között és a

legnagyobb mélység is ennek közelében

található. Akik jól ismerik a Balatont

tudják hogy itt igen erős áramlásokkal

találhatják szembe magukat a

horgászok. Ezek tudatában milyen

érzések kavarogtak Önökben amikor

kihúzták ezt a helyet?

Miután kisorsolták a horgászhelyeket,

elindultunk, hogy szemügyre vegyük a

partszakasz ránk eső részét, amely nem volt

messze a sorsolás helyszínéül szolgáló, hotel

komplexumtól. A horgászhelyünk közvetlen

a sétány mellett volt, ahol nappal nagy volt

a forgalom, de épp ott számítottunk a nagy

fogásokra.A korábbi versenyek során már

megtapasztalhattuk a kikötő forgalmát és

tudtuk, hogy csak éjszaka lesznek kapásaink,

amit a második éjszakán, egy 30 kiló feletti

fogás is igazolt. Már tudtuk, hogy milyen

stratégiával fogunk horgászni és nyilvánvaló

volt, hogy az 5 legjobb hely egyikére

pályázhatunk.

A legnagyobb halat megfogni egy

versenyen mindig különös siker, mégis

egy kicsit olyan mint a lottósorsolás,

hiszen soha sem lehet tudni, hogy kinek

a horgára akad a legnagyobb. Viszont

a szerencséért tenni kell, egy ilyen

horgászversenyen pedig legfőképp egy

jó csalit kell feltenni a horogra. Hogyan

sikerült elcsípni az IBCC történetének az

első 30 kiló felettiét?

A verseny második éjszakájának hajnalán,

3 óra körül felébredtem és épp telefonáltam

egy másik román csapat tagjával. Próbáltam

lelket önteni beléjük, és bíztatni őket, mondván,

hogy előbb-utóbb meglesz a kapitális fogás.

Értelemszerűen, mi is a hőn áhított halat vártuk.

A kapásjelző 5:30-kor szólalt meg először,

a pulzusom megugrott és azonnal a bothoz

mentem. Felemeltem azt és a hal vinni kezdte

a zsinórt. Visszatettem a tartóba a botot és

a kollégák sátrába vittem a kapásjelző rádiós

egységét, hogy ébredjenek ők is. A melles

csizma felvétele után, a csónakba szálltam és

kezdődhetett a fárasztás. 20 perccel később,

pillantottam meg először a halat és rögtön

tudtam, hogy egy nagy példánnyal van dolgom.

Nagyjából 20 pluszosra saccoltam elsőre,

de ahogy telt az idő egyre biztoosabb lettem,

hogy ez nagyobb, míg újabb 15 perccel később

végre sikerült megszákolni. A partra érve, már

a stégünknél voltak a bírák. Csak a mérlegelő

matracon derült ki, hogy valójában mekkora a

hal, ugyanis a mérleg nyelve, 30,4 tized kilónál

állt meg, mi pedig szóhóz sem jutottunk az

örömtől. Álomszerű volt az egész. A ponty, 350

méter távolságról, egy szilárd medrű területről

érkezett, a hajók fordulási pontjáról.

A csalink két 24-es bojliból állt, tintahal és

szilva aromával.

Akik a parton állva láthatták ezt a

szépséget, azokat lenyűgözték annak

méretei. Volt szerencsénk látni már

több nagy halat is, de ez nem csak

a súlya miatt volt különleges. Mi jut

eszükbe a halról, amikor visszanézik a

fényképeket?

Az óriási az öröm, a boldogság, a mosolyog az

arcunkon. Ez az amiért, már alig várjuk, hogy

ismét a Balatonra jöhessünk.

Tudták, hogy ez a hal, egy korábbi

versenyen volt már mérlegelve az

IBCC-n?

Nem volt tudomásunk róla, csak később

tudtuk meg és ez plusz örömmel töltött

el. Szerencsénkre, nem bújkálnak, hanem

aktívak a halak és a tény, hogy nagy bojlikkal

táplálkoznak, a halak nagy méretéről ez

árulkodik. Rengeteg óriás példány van a

Balatonban, ez biztos.

Sok nagy versenyen jártak már. Mégis,

miben különbözik a többitől az IBCC?

Behordásos módszerrel több versenyen

is horgásztam, Olaszországban,

Franciaországban, és Romániában, de az

IBCC-hez, egyik sem fogható, ugyanis ez olyan

mint egy világbajnokság, ahol 250 csapat

méri össze erejét. A Balaton, ha úgy tetszik, a

pontyok tengere. A halpopuláció összetétele

optimális, a tó szinte teljes területén vannak

halak, de folyamatosan változtatják a helyüket,

ami megnehezíti, de éppen ezért, érdekessé

teszi ezt a versenyt. Biztosak vagyunk abban,

hogy bármelyik horgászhelyről lehetséges a

győzelem, még a verseny utolsó két napján is,

és az is biztos, hogy soha nem tudhatjuk mi

akad a horgunkra. Lehet egy 30 pluszos, de

akár egy 40 pluszos ponty is.

In most sports it can only happen in the rarest of cases that someone wins a competition without

a perfect performance. This is even more true for carp angling competitions, where you obviously need

some luck, as in many other parts of life, but only the very best can recognize the given situation and

succeed consequently with a strategy. The Sírius Team has written itself into the history books of the

IBCC in 2021, when they were able to win the world’s biggest carp angling competition under extremely

exciting conditions.

A sport legtöbb területén csak a legritkább esetben történhet meg, hogy valaki tökéletes teljesítmény

nélkül nyerjen versenyt. Különösen igaz ez a pontyhorgász versenyekre is, ahol ugyan, mint bár másban

az életben némi szerencse is kell, de az adott szituációt felismerni, azt az elképzelést kitartóan végigvinni

csak a legjobbaknak sikerülhet. Az IBCC történelemkönyvébe 2021-ben írta be magát, vastag betűvel

a Sírius Team, akik rendkívül izgalmas körülmények között tudtak diadalmaskodni a világ legnagyobb

pontyfogó versenyén.

If we talk about luck, you do not seem to have any problems

with it. Maybe only retrospectively could you find out,

whether it was an advantage that you were fishing at exactly

the same spot a few days before the start of the IBCC,

where you were able to win one of the most prestigious

competitions. How lucky are you generally at competitions

at the draw?

J: The peg draw limits the possibilities of the teams and maximizes

the possible results. You can only get to a Top 10 position from

approximately a third of the pegs drawn, at least in our opinion,

based on what we have seen in competitions so far. Our peg was in

this section in the autumn, and we only had one team in our direct

neighbourhood. We have been competing in this form since 2017

and we have had ever better sector results, but it was the first time

that we have drawn a peg eligible for victory, so we had really high

hopes straight from the draw on.

Ha már szerencse, úgy tűnik, nem álltok vele hadilábon.

Talán csak így utólag derülhetett ki, hogy jelentett-e

ténylegesen előnyt, de néhány nappal az IBCC rajtja előtt

pont azon a helyen horgásztatok, ahol aztán sikerült

megnyerni az egyik legrangosabb versenyt. Általában

mennyire vagytok a versenyeken szerencsés kezűek a

sorsoláskor?

J: A helyhúzás behatárolja a csapatok lehetőségeit, és

maximalizálja az elérhető helyezést. A top tízbe kerülni csak

a kisorsolt helyek harmadáról lehet, ez legalábbis a saját

megfigyelésünk, az eddigi versenyek alapján. A mi fenyvesi helyünk

ebben a sávban volt az őszi időszakban, pláne, hogy csak egy csapat

volt a közvetlen szomszédságunkban. 2017 óta versenyzünk együtt

ebben a formában, egyre jobb szektor eredményekkel, de ilyen,

a győzelemre is alkalmas helyet most először húztunk, így nagy

reményeink voltak, már a sorsolás után.

It is not easy to prepare for such a competition, because

right up until the draw you do not know which situation you

will going to be in. How did you prepare yourself for the 2021

competition?

J: In the months before the IBCC we tried out the baits and tactics

we thought they could be right on Lake Balaton. Every year we

collect experiences regarding equipment and competition practices.

The fact that we had been fishing in Balatonfenyves was good, it

gave us confidence, because a month earlier we were able to catch

4 pieces of 20+ kg carps under competition conditions.

Looking back from now the two fishing experiences were completely

different, if we would have insisted really crampy on our practices

proven the month before, we would not have been able to win.

Almost six months have passed since you could lift the IBCC

trophy up as winners of the seventh edition. How do you

think back at that particular moment, and how do you look

differently at the competition itself?

J: All our competitor friends know how much a week of irregular

sleep and sometimes nomadic circumstances take out of your

system. And in addition to that, we got to know a new kind of

feeling: the feeling of being hunted in the position of the leader,

which also consumes a lot of energy. Even if we had the time to

sleep, we were constantly thinking about how we could improve our

performance even further. After all that the moment of our victory

was a really cathartic one, a confirmation of all our talks and

experiments on the shore, which are done by all competitors looking

for the best method, the best baits, the best feeding tactics.

Now that six months have passed, the result is even more valuable.

Looking back from now it seems like a dream how we took over the

lead step by step and how we managed with a daily renewal to hold

on to our position even in the very exciting final sprint.

The news of such a victory spreads very quickly among carp

anglers and I think that not only your direct competitors

congratulated with you in the last period of time. How do you

experience, how do you live the IBCC victory in your daily

lives?

J: It does surprise us day by day how many people follow this

competition, how many stop us and congratulate with us. Strangers

on the street, the lady in the shop, the guy at the petrol station. The

Hungarians, the people living at Lake Balaton feel as if this is their

success too and this is an especially good feeling.

So far no one has ever managed to defend the title and this

means there will be some kind of psychological pressure on

you before the 2022 competition.

J: The pressure is there, all competitions begin the same way, we

want to have the best possible draw, preferably not sit in between

other teams and then we have to catch the first fish and then

we have to look for the sector results. But one thing is for sure,

we always want to win the competition! And even if no one has

managed to win it twice, we will try all the same!

Egy ilyen versenyre felkészülni nagyon nem egyszerű, hiszen

egészen a sorsolásig nem lehet tudni, hogy pontosan milyen

szituációba kerültök. Ennek tükrében hogyan készültetek fel

ti, a 2021-es megmérettetésre?

J: Az IBCC előtti hónapban kipróbáltuk az általunk jónak gondolt

csalikat, taktikákat élesben is a Balatonon. Évről évre gyűlik a

tapasztalatunk a felszerelést és versenypraktikákat illetően. Az, hogy

éppen Fenyvesen horgásztunk azért volt jó, mert önbizalmat adott,

hiszen egy hónappal korábban verseny körülmények között tudtunk

itt 4 db 20+-os halat fogni. Így utólag a két peca teljesen más

volt, ha görcsösen ragaszkodtunk volna az előző hónapban bevált

dolgainkhoz, nem nyertünk volna.

Lassan fél év telt el azóta, hogy hetedikként a magasba

emelhettétek az IBCC trófeát. Hogyan gondoltok vissza

erre a pillanatra, esetleg miben néztek azóta másképp a

versenyzésre?

J: Minden versenyző barátunk tudja, mennyit vesz ki az emberből

az egy hét rendszertelen alvás, a sokszor nomád körülmények.

Emellett egy új érzéssel kellett megismerkednünk: az élen álló

üldözöttségével, ami rengeteg energiát felemészt. Ha alhattunk

volna, akkor is inkább azon pörögtek a gondolataink, hogy

mi vihetne előrébb. Ezek után a győzelem pillanatai valóban

katartikusak voltak, igazolása azoknak a beszélgetéseinknek és

vízparti próbálkozásainknak, amiket minden versenyen induló

megtesz, keresve a legjobb módszert, csalit, etetési praktikát.

Félév elteltével, még nagyobb értékű ez az eredmény, visszatekintve

álomszerű, ahogy fokozatosan átvettük a vezetést és azt minden nap

megújulva tartani tudtuk az izgalmas véghajrában is.

Egy ilyen diadalnak gyorsan híre megy a pontyhorgász

berkekben, és azt hiszem, hogy nem csak a közvetlen

versenytársak gratulációit gyűjtöttétek be az elmúlt

időszakban. Hogyan élitek meg a mindennapokban az IBCC

diadalt?

J: Mindannyiunkat meglep nap, mint nap, hogy milyen sokan

követik ezt a versenyt, megállítanak és gratulálnak nekünk. Az

utcán idegenek, a boltos néni, a benzinkutas. A magyarok, a

balatoniak magukénak érzik sikerünket, ami külön jólesik.

Eddig még soha, senkinek nem sikerült a címvédés, ezzel

együtt azért szinte biztos, hogy némi lelki teher lesz rajtatok

a 2022-es verseny előtt.

J: A teher megvan, minden versenyen azzal kezdődik, hogy

lehetőleg jobb helyet húzzunk, vagy legalább ne középső helyet

kapjunk, aztán az első halat fogjuk meg, aztán kezdhetjük figyelni

a szektor eredményt. Egy viszont biztos, hogy mindíg úgy indulunk

neki, hogy meg akarjuk nyerni! Bár ez kétszer még senkinek sem

sikerült, .azért mi megpróbáljuk!
