….... a word from our President
Don't forget to check out our activities list. A lot is happening in the coming months: a car show late
April and our annual picnic early June. Thank you to everyone involved in putting these events
together. Be sure to check out the flyer for my President's run included in this issue.
Be safe out there on the road in your travels. With most of the economy open now the traffic
everywhere is congested. You really need to be aware while driving at all times. This is also important
during our club runs. On a run with a large number of cars, we may have to separate into smaller
groups on the road to be safe.
Let's give a big thank you to Charlie and Kim for leading the club in our participation in the Clovis
Rodeo Parade. The weather was perfect and there were a lot of spectators. We had two red, two white,
and two blue lead cars. Our entire ensemble of 26 cars looked great ! One lead car carried Miss City of
Fresno, Ashlyn Cruise, and the other lead car carried Miss City of Fresno Outstanding Teen, Hana
Tilksew. Soon they will be competing for Miss California and Miss California's Outstanding Teen,
respectively. There were multiple announcers along the parade route. Our club and special guests were
announced at each location. That amount of publicity is priceless.
See you on our next run.
Your President,
Jeff

ACTIVITIES CALENDAR
MAY 2022
Looks like the weather is finally becoming stable enough to plan more activities for the rest of the year.
put it on the calendar. We have a couple of potential runs in the works.
The Clovis Rodeo Parade lead by Charlie Fosnaugh was very well attended with 26 cars all shined up and
decorated. About half the group joined us for lunch at Red Robin in Clovis. Armando and Rachael Garcia
invited their friends to join us for lunch. One of the couples has the twin to the Garcia’s car and the other is
planning to order a new car. According to the roar of conversation a good time was had by all.
We have four activities in May; the Madera Speedway-Vukovich Run lead by the King’s, the Progressive
Dinner lead by the Son’s, Lindner’s and Lori Dukes, the Indy 500 Race Run also lead by the King’s. Gary
Linsner is participating in the Nevada Open Road Challenge. Can’t wait to hear how that goes. Our Picnic is
coming up on June 4 th . A run coming to Moss Landing is the works, more info to come. We have runs planned
to Roger Rocka’s by the Henenfent’s and Jeff’s President Run in October. Remember when giving information
out about your activity to mention the date, the time we are meeting, the time we are departing and where we
are meeting. Shine up that car, plan a run and start your engine.
The Spanish term La Veta Madre (The Mother Load) refers to
a rich vein of gold that included the region from Mariposa to
Downieville. In 1848 James Marshall discovered gold along
the American River, and the race for riches was on. We will
be spending three nights along State Route 49, the main
route linking gold country towns and visit landmarks,
museums, and other desKnaKons.
Many of the original mining towns
described by historians have vanished
and landmarks become fewer each
year as Kme, fires, and progress take
their toll. Plan to see it before it's gone
