Romero Britto was born in Brazil in 1963
as part of a family of eight siblings.
By the age of 14, he was painting his
colorful images on anything to be
found as a background, newspapers,
cardboard, or scraps of wood. He sold
his first artwork to one of his neighbors.
His enthusiasm for creativity allowed him
to excel academically. He attended
the University of Brazil where he held his
first art show. Following his experience
at the university, he was able to travel
to Paris France where he viewed the
work of Matisse and Piccaso which
influenced his design ideas. He then
moved to the United States where he
began to convert his creativity toward
making money for him to continue
doing what he loved.

recognition. This was continued for
brands such as Apple Computers, Pepsi
Cola, IBM, Disney Britto Minni Cooper,

World Cup and, illustrated several books
for Simon & Schuster, and designed
for the Super
Bowl and the
Olympics.
While he was
designing
for various
commercial
brands he was
also painting
of which his
work has sold
to collectors
such as Andre Agassi, Michael Jordan,
Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Rothchilds,
and the Kennedys. He works in a variety
of art media including watercolor,
pen and ink, acrylic, serigrapohyu,
and lighograpohy. He became part

on a commercial level in designing for

After years of steady work in film and
television, and approaching 250 credits
on his IMDB page, actor and comedian
Jason Stuart has achieved a pinnacle
of success many actors only dream
of. “For the last few years, people
have started to approach me and say,
‘You’re that guy,’” he explains with his
characteristic gravelly laugh. Indeed,
with guest-starring and supporting
credits in everything from the Billy Bob
Thornton starrer “Goliath” to Judd
Apatow’s “Love” to “Sleepy Hollow” to
“Tangerine” and “The Birth of a Nation,”
Stuart has now established himself as
one of those all-too-familiar faces who
might just pop up anywhere, in any kind
of role.
After coming out on “Geraldo” in 1993
it led to a wave of interest in Stuart
as a “Out gay comedian,” giving his
act new material and energy, and a
purpose. Today, Stuart marvels at how
much has changed about the visibility
of sexually diverse actors and celebrities.
His talent and determination got him
some early professional work in films like
“Kindergarten Cop,” “Vegas Vacation,”

and TV shows like “Murder, She Wrote”
and “The Drew Carey Show.”
These days, Stuart keeps his comedy
chops polished through stand-up
gigs all over the country as well as
his speaking tour “Coming Out in
Hollywood: Being out in the workplace”.
He continues to serve as the National
Co-Chairman of the SAG-AFTRA LGBTQ
Committee(which he created), and has
a memoir about to be published from
CCB Publishing (“Shut Up, I’m Talking!”)
and a new comedy online album “I’m
The Daddy And I Have Candy” both

just completed a number of projects,
including a new AMAZON comedy series
“Smothered,” co-created with Mitch
Hara, SmotheredTV.com that he won
the Indie Series Award for Best Actor in a
Comedy Series for the season one and
is now in post production for the 2nd
season; He also played the title role in
the short “Hank” from director Hongyu
Li and co-starring Jay Disney, about
a gay couple who consider an open
relationship, which continues to earn
praise at numerous festivals recently at
the PS international Short Film Festival!

He has also worked to promote
Worhol amplified. Britto’s work also
shows the influence he gained from his
trip to Paris and viewing the works of
Piccaso and other cubists since much
of his work has geometric divisions such
as cubists used. His work has also been
transferred to sculptures that are found
in several cities and museums. Vibrant
colors, swirls, flowers, and the use of
signatures throughout his designs are
trademarks of a cheerful easy-to-view
art style. Romero is not gay but has
demonstrated being a friend to LGBTQ
causes through his art.
Romero Britto is known to be of a
conservative political bent and has
worked for Jeb Bush and Mit Romney
but also for Hillary Clinton. He does not
have any affiliation with the former
autocratic tyrant Trump president. In a
personal bio statement he says, “As an

Palm Springs Indoor Certified Farmers’ Market Opens
Saturday, June 11
The Palm Springs Certified Farmers’ Market reopens indoors in the air conditioned
Palm Springs Pavilion (401 S Pavilion Way) this Saturday, June 11th. In order to beat
the heat and accommodate our early-rising customers, the Market’s new hours of
operation will be 8:00am - 1:00pm.
“You asked, we listened!” said Lauren Wolfer, Program Director of the Palm Springs
Cultural Center. She continued, “we are thrilled to have the Certified Farmers’
Market available year-round, thanks to the generosity of our community and the
City of Palm Springs.”
The Indoor Palm Springs Certified Farmers Market in the Pavillion will continue
accepting CalFresh/SNAP benefits (which means customers can use their EBT card
at the market), and offering Market Match, California’s largest nutrition incentive
program. Market Match provides a dollar-for-dollar match of shoppers’ CalFresh
benefits at participating farmers’ markets. For example, if a customer spends $15
in CalFresh benefits, participating farmers’ markets provide a matching $15 credit
to double the customer’s purchasing power for fresh fruits and vegetables. The
$15/$15 match was slated to drop down to $10/$10 earlier in the year, but was
extended thanks to a generous donation from Chef Chad Gardner of the Gardner
Hospitality Group.
Additionally, the CV WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) Office will be handing
out Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) voucher packs at the Indoor Market
during select dates this summer. Each voucher pack is good for $28 in fresh fruits
and vegetables, and is matched with an extra $10 extra in produce tokens. That
means each WIC family can receive a total of $38 to spend on fresh, small farmdirect
produce. Out of the ten WIC FMNP distribution sites in Riverside County, ours
is the only one that matches with an additional $10. WIC recipients should contact
the CV WIC office for more information.

Part 5
A River carved by
Two Men of Taunton is about revolution
as it happened.
To say the residents of Taunton are
patriotic would be an understatement.
From original patriotism to wisened
sturdy Yankee fellas that thrive in the
silver city. Gay and straight.
There are many reasons to leave
Taunton, but it will never leave you.
LIKE SNOW!
Before the Pilgrims, visitors from the
east would make their way across
the sea from far away lands. Before
one Easterner stepped foot here,
approximately 12,000 years ago,
following the revegetation of the area
once the glaciers receded, nomadic
tribes of hunter/gatherers migrated
into New England. These native tribes
camped and hunted a bountiful land all
along a winding River. One that would
become “tidal” as it emptied itself into
the Atlantic ocean. Now called the
taunton riverThe Taunton River it even
provided currency for the native tribes.
Periwinkle and quahog shell furnished
the material for the valuable white
beads of wampum and the blue spot on
quahog shells provided the blue bead.
The Native Americans welcomed
the arriving immigrants and helped
them survive. They were treated by
their character, not by the way they
looked. However, as always happens
without regulation, people will snap like

Pirates burying treasure was very rare
but hiding it was not. So I belived it was
a lot of people and a handsome, sex
filled swaggering Pirate hiding his booty
in plain sight. Perhaps Dixie Bull, the first
pirate known to prey on shipping off the
New England coast. To me, the images
look photoshopped, and a new X marks
the new location of the booty.

DAP Health Celebrates East Valley Expansion with Two Exciting
Events
Sexual Wellness Clinic and Revivals Indio Ribbon Cutting
Ceremonies to be held Saturday, July 16
[Palm Springs, CA, June 6, 2022] In its
continued mission to meet clients where
they are with what they need, DAP Health
announced the opening of its new sexual
wellness clinic at 81-719 Doctor Carreon Blvd,
Suite D in Indio. The clinic, which officially
opens on July 11, 2022, will operate Monday
through Friday from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm and will
offer testing for HIV, hepatitis C, and sexually
transmitted infections including gonorrhea,
chlamydia, and syphilis. The clinic will also
provide pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and
post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) for HIV clients.
Case management and referrals to additional
resources will also be available. Testing and
treatment are confidential and free of charge.

“We are truly branching out to bring DAP

to provide that affordable shopping experience
while supporting the mission of DAP Health.”
Comprised of a unique blend of staff and
volunteers, the welcoming community feeling
at Revivals would not be possible without the
generosity of those who volunteer. Over 180
volunteers donate over 13,000 hours each year,
reselling gently used furniture, home goods,
and fashion that has been donated by the
generous local community at their four store
locations.
“Our mission is to enhance and promote the
health and well-being of our community and
we do that by meeting people where they
are,” said CJ Tobe, director of community health
and sexual wellness at DAP Health who led the
project. “We are adjusting the system to meet
the needs of the community by not asking for
your insurance while providing free services
that don’t take weeks to be seen by a clinician.
We will test you, treat you, prescribe Pre-
Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), and connect you
to any other medical or social support needs
you may have. All of these services at the clinic
are free from cost and free from judgment and
shame.”

to the sales floor. Together, the team has
created a unique shopping experience - an
exciting treasure hunt that delivers on their
promise of affordability, discoverability, and
community connection.
To commemorate these two milestones, DAP
Health will host individual ribbon-cutting
ceremonies on Saturday, July 16, 2022. The
first will take place at 10:00 a.m. the DAP Health
sexual wellness clinic and will include a tour of
the facility. The second will occur an hour later
at 11:00 a.m. at Revivals Indio and will include
a free taco cart lunch, family-friendly give-aways,
and a storewide sale. All are invited to

The Palm Springs Cultural Center is
thrilled to present Movies in the Park,
the first annual outdoor summer popup
film series at the new downtown
park in Palm Springs. Each summer
month features a different iconic
Marilyn Monroe film. Movies in the Park
launches June 15 with THE SEVEN YEAR
ITCH, followed by GENTLEMEN PREFER
BLONDES on July 20, and then SOME
LIKE IT HOT on Aug 17. Joining us for
each screening are The Marilyns of
Palm Springs- a local Marilyn-centric
performance troupe led by Miss DD Starr
of the Palm Springs School of Burlesque.
The Marilyns will be on hand for photos
and fun before each screening.
These events are provided FREE to
the community through the generous
support of our sponsors: P.S. Resorts,
City of Palm Springs, Palm Springs
Chamber of Commerce, Destination
PSP, and Crystal Fantasy (sponsorship
opportunities are still available).
The movies are scheduled to start
at 8pm, but show times may vary
slightly depending on sundown. Head
