About OUR SCHOOL
Georgia-Cumberland Academy (GCA) is a Seventh-day Adventist
Christian co-educational boarding high school located in scenic
Northwest Georgia that is dedicated to preparing your child for
their future, both spiritually and academically. For more than
50 years, our mission has been to equip students with the skills
necessary to be successful in college and beyond while focusing on
eternity. More than anything, we strive to disciple students into
fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

The purpose of Georgia-Cumberland Academy is the
development of our students’ Christian faith and character.
This commitment to the goal of Christian education is
displayed as we challenge our students to know Jesus as
their personal Savior, to love others as themselves, and to
grow in knowledge and skill. We pray this combined focus on
spiritual, personal, and academic growth will help them to
better serve the world for Christ. This is the core of who we
are as a GCA family.

GCA believes a strong academic program begins with a
solid Biblical foundation. We stress academic achievement
with a focus on leadership, research, and analytical skills.
Stimulating classroom discussions, Bible classes, and
weekly chapel meetings keep our learning environment

FINE ARTS
At GCA, we are committed to providing a well-rounded
education that inspires our students to be life-long learners.
Learning is not merely the act of memorizing facts; it is the
art of applying knowledge in all areas of life. Our fine arts
programs provide the perfect outlet for students to express
their knowledge, skills, and talents in creative ways. We offer
concert band, strings, choir, praise band, yearbook, video
production, drama, and art class as fine art credits.

EndlessPossibility
ATHLETICS
Learning experiences are not limited to the classroom at GCA.
We believe that building strong bodies helps to build strong
minds, and we provide opportunities for students to stay
physically active and develop new skills along the way.
We have several varsity sports teams, including boys’
soccer, girls’ soccer, boys’ basketball, girls’ basketball, and
girls’ volleyball. We also have a gymnastics team, and offer
intramural sports throughout the year that are open to
everyone. We challenge our students to play hard, win and lose
with grace, and discover the joy of teamwork and competition.

Unlimited Potential
WORK PROGRAM
At GCA, students are given the opportunity to participate
in an on campus job. We believe that learning to work, being
punctual, and faithfully performing assigned duties is as
much a part of preparing students for their future as is their
academics. Students receive a grade for their job, and earnings
are used to offset tuition costs.
There are a wide variety of work opportunities on campus,
including the cafeteria, grounds and maintenance,
administrative office support, Computer Help Desk, dormitory
workers, and readers (graders) for teachers.
