Three times is a charm for Water District<br />

The Lynnfield Water District<br />
(LWD)has received the 2022<br />
Public Water System Award<br />
from the Drinking Water<br />
Program of the Massachusetts<br />
Department of Environmental<br />
Protection (Mass DEP).<br />
The award is the third consecutive<br />
for LWD, which was<br />
recognized for outstanding<br />
performance and achievement<br />
in compliance. LWD received<br />
one of the top scores<br />
among all public systems in<br />
Massachusetts.<br />
“The district works daily to<br />
achieve and maintain this level<br />
of excellence in carrying out<br />
its mission of protecting and<br />
supplying safe, high-quality<br />
water to its customers,” said<br />
Superintendent Matthew<br />
O’Connell, who accepted the<br />
award for the district at a Mass<br />
DEP awards ceremony at the<br />
Devens Common Center in<br />
Devens, MA on May 10.<br />
LWD is located at 842 Salem<br />
St. in South Lynnfield.<br />
The LWD is bordered on<br />
the north by the Lynnfield<br />
Center, on the east by the city<br />
of Peabody, on the south by<br />
the city of Lynn and town of<br />
Saugus and on the west by the<br />
town of Wakefield. In addition,<br />
the district also provides water<br />
to over 90 percent of all commercial<br />
customers in the town<br />
of Lynnfield.<br />
The mission of the LWD is to<br />
provide reliable, cost-effective,<br />
high-quality water and maintain<br />
customer confidence.<br />
