BUSINESS<br />
<strong>2022</strong> YOUTH ACADEMY<br />
The Greenwood Village Police Department hosted the <strong>2022</strong><br />
Youth Academy. This was the first full class the police<br />
department hosted since 2019 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.<br />
During this week-long class, students were taught the behindthe-scene<br />
look into the everyday life of how the police<br />
department functions. Students were shown the 911 Center,<br />
booking area, patrol vehicles, emergency driving, firearms,<br />
de-escalation techniques, emergency response team, Crisis<br />
Negotiations Team<br />
functions, traffic<br />
enforcement, and DUI<br />
investigations. The week<br />
ended with a celebration<br />
where Deputy Chief<br />
Dave Oliver presented a<br />
certificate of completion<br />
to all students. This year,<br />
the Police Youth<br />
Academy was attended by District 2 Councilmember Dave<br />
Kerber. Congratulations to our graduates.<br />
