Stolpen Castle
STOLPEN CASTLE
Stolpen Castle’s role in the classic film »Sachsens
Countess Cosel – after all, she was banished
there for 49 years by Augustus the Strong himself.
Stolpen Castle has also been the backdrop
for numerous German detective series.
WALDENBURG CASTLE
A generous sprinkling of Baroque, History and
Art Deco make Waldenburg Castle the ideal
setting for films that want to portray a little
pomposity – especially »The Grand Budapest
In the DEFA production of »Sleeping Beauty«,
past the famous spiral staircase. The renaissance
castle in Torgau is also known for its role in
the Reformation, as the chapel was the world’s
first ever Protestant church.
