Family Promise Metrowest provides essential services to
families in need throughout the Metrowest region thanks to
the strength and dedication of our business community.

OUR MISSION
Family Promise Metrowest’s mission is
to transform the lives of families with
children that are facing homelessness
by mobilizing our community to
provide shelter, education, and
comprehensive support.
We serve families that:
are without a permanent home or
are facing eviction or shelter entry
are low- to moderate-income
have at least one child under the
age of 18 living with them
are Massachusetts residents
Our approach to addressing family
homelessness and housing instability is
simple: We believe motivated families
can move themselves out of poverty
and establish stable homes if given the
guidance and resources to set and
work toward goals.
We offer a Shelter program, the SAIL transitional program for families
exiting shelter, our LIFE homelessness prevention and shelter diversion
program, and the Steps to Success education and employment
program. These services pair intensive, long-term family coaching with
targeted subsidies, giving families the time and support they need to
reach their goals and change their lives.

OUR EVENTS
Walk to End Homelessness
Our annual spring walk brings our extended
community together to raise awareness and
funds to support Metrowest families facing
homelessness. The event features numerous
vendors and family-friendly activities.
Keeping the Promise
Our fall gala features an extensive auction,
food from local vendors, updates from our
staff and board, and guest family speakers
who share their stories of impact and
transformation with our attendees.

HOW TO GET INVOLVEDI
There are numerous ways that the business community can contribute
to our efforts to support families facing housing insecurity and help
create stable, permanent homes:

Volunteer: Arrange a service day or project for
your employees at our facility, or host a
donation drive for our families at your
workplace.
Purchase an Ad: Place an ad in our event
programs to contribute to our fundraising
while also publicizing your support for our
mission. Ad prices range from $75 to $250.

Sponsor an Event: Sign on as an event
sponsor to offer significant support for one of
our major events in exchange for a wide variety
of publicity opportunities for your company.
Sponsorship levels range from $500 to $2,000.
Become a Community Partner: Offer
sustaining support to our organization and the
programs that serve our families. Community
Partners make an annual contribution of at
least $2,500 and are publicized throughout
our organizational communications.
Donations, purchases, and grants from businesses and corporate
foundations make up 15% of our annual budget—critical funding
to help us meet the growing need for family assistance in our

Dear Family Promise Metrowest Supporters,
When I became a young, single parent, I had
trouble maintaining my family’s stability, struggling to
meet basic needs like shelter, food, and clothing for myself
and my daughter. We had already experienced two emergency shelters
when once again we needed urgent assistance during the peak of the pandemic in 2020.
Unfortunately, with my unemployment benefits, I was making $50 too much each month
to qualify for emergency shelter. So I resorted to living in hotels, but it was extremely
costly and only a temporary roof. After extensive research I learned about Family Promise
Metrowest and how they evaluate families based on need and not income.
They swiftly responded to my request for immediate aid, and since that initial encounter I
have been thriving in ways I didn’t envision. I was paired with a Family Coach who was
with me every step of the way. She was patient and sincere and went above and beyond
to make sure my daughter and I were seen, heard, and accomplishing goals. In our
biweekly meetings, we constructed a detailed budget that helped me establish financial
literacy. In addition, Family Promise offered several courses that focused on essential life
skills such as good tenancy, financial management, and so much more.
These thoughtful programs opened many doors for me as someone who is determined to
achieve at life. I learned so many fundamental skills that have helped me gain
scholarships, permanent housing, and a healthy savings account. I recently completed my
Associate’s degree, which I couldn’t have done without the continuous support from the
staff at Family Promise, and now I'm working toward my Bachelor's. I’m not worried today
about how my household will eat or where we will sleep—I worry about how I can
maintain Dean’s List status.
This journey I’ve been on with Family Promise has been inspiring to say the least. I am
deeply grateful for being able to share my story with others who are experiencing
homelessness and hopelessness. These two obstacles are heavy burdens one can face and
overcome, especially with Family Promise guiding you and your family. I can attest to how
they contributed to my fulfillment and success in creating a stable life for myself and my
daughter, who deserves it most of all.
