Supporting local schools<br />
and colleges<br />
Crawfords’ team has been<br />
busy attending local schools<br />
and colleges, getting the next<br />
generation enthusiastic about<br />
the industry. Tom Power (Sussex/<br />
Hants Product Demonstrator)<br />
recently attended the two-day<br />
Future Fields STEM event at<br />
Plumpton College. Tom spent time<br />
with local secondary school pupils,<br />
teaching them about technology<br />
in agriculture. Students even had<br />
the chance to set-up and use the<br />
tractor guidance system.<br />
Writtle Junior School held a Car<br />
Show in June but they fancied<br />
something a little different. So, we<br />
were pleased to provide a Fendt<br />
724 tractor to put on display, along<br />
with some goodies for the children.<br />
Scott Clark (Kent Service Manager)<br />
and Kieran Hale (Kent Technician)<br />
attended the Hadlow College Open<br />
Day, this is always a well-attended<br />
event. A Fendt 724 and trailed<br />
sprayer were on display with both<br />
Kieran and Scott on-hand to show<br />
the public around the machines<br />
and talk about the farming calendar<br />
and their day-to-day jobs working<br />
for a machinery dealer.<br />
Health & Safety<br />
Nine team members from various<br />
departments across the business<br />
have recently been awarded a<br />
IOSH (Institution of Occupational<br />
Safety and Health) qualification.<br />
This was a 3-day course where<br />
a final exam was required for<br />
participants to pass the course.<br />
The course was led by Mia Banbury,<br />
our Safety Consultant from Safety<br />
Revolution. Safety Revolution work<br />
with Crawfords to ensure that the<br />
business is adhering to all rules and<br />
regulations.<br />
The future is bright<br />
Following work experience being<br />
undertaken at our workshop,<br />
Crawfords have secured their next<br />
intake of apprentices who shall be<br />
joining the business this Autumn.<br />
With one apprentice joining the<br />
team in Essex and two apprentices<br />
joining the team in Kent. Visit<br />

apprentices, passing to become<br />
qualified technicians.<br />
